UPRISING 027 LIVE FROM BUFFALO, NEW YORK!

'Game On' by Discipline begins to play as the words 'NLW' flash across the screen, and the scene flashes back to last Uprising, where Olivia Winterborne defeated Eddie Williams, Okuma defeated X-Terminator, Jesse Williams and Kevin Heat went to no contest as both men were attacked by Josh Allen, and in the main event 'Untamed' Nick James defeated Ethan Dashery in an Anything Goes match! The scene cuts to ringside, with Caelan Tyler and Jake Steel.

Caelan Tyler: Hello and welcome to Uprising! I'm Caelan Tyler and with me here as always is 'The Real Deal' Jake Steel!

Jake Steel: God damn the end to last Uprising was amazing.... And why are you wearing that shirt?

Caelan Tyler: It's my Josh Allen t-shirt, he gave it to me to celebrate his return! Last Uprising was certainly something else though Jake, as we saw all sorts of mayhem take place.

Jake Steel: Too bad tonight won't even come close to living up to that, especially not with you wearing that stupid shirt.

Caelan Tyler: I wouldn't say that Jake, we have a good show planned tonight, with Olivia Winterborne taking on the debuting Troy Munday, Ethan Dashery, Eddie Williams and Roxy Erikson in a triple threat match, Kevin Heat taking on the returning Josh Allen, and in our main event 'Untamed' Nick James takes on Okuma to defend his Legacy Championship.

Jake Steel: Yep, total snoozefest.

OLIVIA WINTERBORNE VERSUS TROY MUNDAY
ONE FALL

Caelan Tyler: You just can't appreciate good wrestling Jake. Anyways, it looks like we're kicking things off right away here tonight.

The electric guitar riffs of punk rock's favorite all star cover band span the arena, as Me First and the Gimme Gimmes' piss-free version of 'I Believe I Can Fly Hits.' The crowd reacts with slight approval and mostly apathy and the sight of 'The True Blue Titan' Troy Munday, as he bursts through the curtain with a manic spree of side stepping and chest beating. Happy with the display of intensity, he begins a skip-jog to the ring. Bounding from guardrail to guardrail in an effort to slap hands with a few interest fans, Troy's massive hands manage to slap concessions across the crowd. Paying no attention, he gives me last chest slap and dives into the ring.

Zach King: The following match is scheduled for one fall! Introducing first, from Green Bay, Wisconsin... Weighing in at 278 pounds... 'The True Blue Titan' Troy Munday!

Caelan Tyler: This is Troy Munday's debut here in NLW after the...um...interesting conversation we had with him last show.

Jake Steel: That kid's a few tacos short of a combination plate if you ask me.

'Walking on Sunshine' begins playing, as the lights of the arena shift into bright shades of pink, green, and blue. Olivia Winterborne steps out onto the stage, wearing an intensely bright pink singlet, with a sparkly My Little Pony design in the middle of her chest.

She strikes a pose for the audience, as bright colored fireworks and sparklers go off behind her. She hops happily down one side of the ramp, high five-ing every...single...person on that side. When she reaches the bottom, she heads all the way back up, and repeats for the other side, making sure to not miss a single extended hand.

Once she finally gets to the ring, she slides in, and grabs a microphone from a staffer.

Olivia Winterborne: I'm Olivia Winterborne...

The audience cheers decently.

Olivia Winterborne: ...and YOU'RE AWESOME!

The crowd goes nuts, as she tosses the microphone out of the ring, as her music stops playing.

Zach King: And his opponent, from West Valley, Utah... Weighing in at 280 pounds... 'COOL AND REFRESHING' OLIVIA WINTERBORNE!

Caelan Tyler: Olivia is coming off of a big win last Uprising against Eddie Williams, although this match presents an interesting dynamic, as Olivia is the only competitor on the roster that weighs in at more than Troy.

Jake Steel: You trying to say she's fat Cael?

Caelan Tyler: Um, well no...

Jake Steel: Oh, because I'm thinking that you're thinking she's ten pounds of lard squeezed into a five pound container.

Caelan Tyler: I am not!

Jake Steel: Psh, go ahead and deny it. I bet you secreting loathe yourself for being a chubby chaser.

The bell rings as Winterborne and Munday lock up. They both seem to match up well as neither can move the other. The only difference is Winterborne going 'COME ON YOU CAN DO IT YAY' and cheering into Munday's face. Munday gets annoyed by this and breaks the hold realizing it's getting him no where. 'NICE TRY' shouts Olivia as she gives him some applause. Munday shakes his head at Olivia's perkiness as he tries to think up a plan B. Plan B turns out to be trying a sudden attempt at a clothesline but Olivia ducks it. Troy Munday spins around and is met by a forearm shot... another forearm shot. Troy stumbles back into the ropes. Olivia grabs him by the arm and whips him across the ring. He bounces back and Olivia takes him down with a shoulder block. Troy hits the mat hard but rolls out of the way of an attempted elbow drop. Olivia quickly gets back on her feet but is met with a kick in the gut that hunches her over. Troy backs up and runs forward trying to hit a knee but Olivia shoots straight up just in time as the knee misses. Both opponents stare at each other, Troy with a look of determination, and Olivia with a look of pure joy.

Caelan Tyler: A bit of a back and forth between the two competitors here, with each trying to overpower the other.

Jake Steel: And by 'overpower' you mean 'overcome her gravitational pull' right? And by 'overcome her gravitational pull' you mean you wanna hit that. Am I getting warm Cael?

Caelan Tyler: ...I don't even know what to say to that.

Jake Steel: Ha! Didn't deny it!

Caelan Tyler: What?!

Jake Steel: You enjoy whaling!

They lock up again this time Troy Munday getting the better of Olivia and successfully pushing her back toward a corner. Olivia strains with a smile on her face as she successfully pushes Troy away and this time she goes for the surprise clothesline and connects knocking Troy Munday down. Troy shakes the cob webs of the hit off as Olivia goes for a quick cover...

1...

Kick out!

Olivia is all cheers as she applauds her opponent kicking out. Troy Munday has had enough of this cheerfulness as he goes for a lock up again but Olivia spins around him and grabs him in a waist lock from behind. Olivia tries to lift up but Troy does a good job of being dead weight and keeping from being lifted off the ground. He attempts back elbow but Olivia dodges it. He attempts another and she dodges it again. This time he fakes one elbow and as she dodges he hits her with the other connecting. Olivia releases the waist lock, her cheerful expression replaced with a grimace as Munday spins around and takes Olivia down with a double leg take down putting her on the mat. Troy Munday ends up on top of her and he attempts to deliver a few shots to the face as Olivia covers up.

Caelan Tyler: I don't even know what whaling is Jake.

Jake Steel: It's when you go trolling bars for large women to hump.

Caelan Tyler: That's terrible Jake.

Jake Steel: What? Fat women need some loving too, and you're the man to do it!

Caelan Tyler: ...Well anyways, Troy's gotten control of this match-up and now is going for some ground and pound on Olivia.

Jake Steel: Oh yeah, I bet that's what you want to do to her all night long!

Troy Munday stands up bring Olivia up with him as he Irish whips her into the ropes. He attempts a big boot but Olivia ducks it. Troy Munday turns around as Olivia comes off the ropes again and he catches her with a clothesline taking her down to the mat. He jumps straight up in the air and comes crashing down with a knee into the face. He goes for the cover...

1...

2...

Shoulder up!

Troy Munday doesn't seem too surprised by the Kick out as he picks Olivia up and attempts a Backdrop driver. It is now Olivia's turn to go dead weight as she does everything she can to not get hit by the hold. She successfully maintains her ground as she plants her feet and keeps from being elevated. Troy Munday gives up and releases the hold instead beginning to double ax handle Olivia as she is bent over. He then grabs her and with a grunt flips her over and drops her down with a gut wrench suplex. He goes for the cover again this time hooking the leg:

1...

2...

Another shoulder up!

Caelan Tyler: Troy showing a bit of an aggressive streak here against Olivia with his high impact offense.

Olivia is in defense mode, her smile gone for the time being, as Troy Munday has taken control of the match. He picks her back up and Irish whips her into the ropes. He goes for the big boot again this time connecting as Olivia goes crashing down to the mat. He doesn't go for the cover though instead bending down to pick Olivia back up. He picks her up and sets her up for a suplex attempt. He goes for it but Olivia blocks it. He goes for it again but Olivia blocks it. Olivia goes for the reversal and she succeeds in lifting Munday up and bringing him down to the mat. Olivia rolls to her stomach and pushes up, shaking the cob webs out of her system. Troy Munday is on his knees recovering from the reversal. They both stand up as Olivia forearms Troy in the face. Another forearm in the face. Troy doesn't just stand there and take it though as he delivers a forearm of his own. Olivia smiles and cheers 'THAT WAS A GOOD ONE' as she hits him again. Troy shakes his head and goes for another forearm but Olivia blocks this one and locks him in with a bear hug! She lifts up and spins around nailing a spinebuster to take control of the match! Troy is now in trouble as she goes for the cover.

1...

2...

Kick out!

Caelan Tyler: Olivia managing to regain control of the match with a display of power of her own.

Jake Steel: You'd like for her to press you over the top of her, wouldn't you?

Caelan Tyler: DAMN JAKE I DON'T LIKE FAT CHICKS!

Jake Steel: Oh yeah, go ahead and hurt their feelings. I can just imagine the hate mail now...

Olivia lifts Troy Munday up and now it is her turn to Irish Whip him into the ropes, but no he reverses it. Olivia goes into the ropes as Troy Munday lowers his head to go for a back body drop. He telegraphs it too soon though as Olivia comes stops grabs him in a headlock and drives him down with a DDT. Olivia applauds herself and is quite happy about it as she rolls Troy over and goes for another cover:

1...

2...

Shoulder up!

Even Olivia doesn't seem amused by this outcome as she stands up. Troy Munday is on the mat prone to being picked up. Olivia irish whips him into the corner. Troy hits hard and stumbles out of the corner. Olivia grabs him and irish whips him into the opposite corner. He hits hard and stumbles out of the corner again this time dropping to his knees. Olivia hits him with a boot knocking him off his knees and putting him flat on his back. Olivia jumps up and down going 'YAY' as the crowd cheers her on.

Caelan Tyler: You're the one making all the comments Jake, not me!

Jake Steel: No man, you're the hater at the table, not I.

Olivia goes for the cover hooking the leg...

1...

2...

Shoulder up!

Olivia doesn't seem deterred as she picks him back up and Irish whips him into the ropes she goes for a clothesline but Troy ducks it. Troy pops back up and before Olivia can turn around he grabs her by the neck and delivers a neck breaker to bring the tide back into his favor. The crowd is getting into the match deeply now as chants of Troy and Winterborne can both be heard. Troy doesn't go for the cover instead lifting Winterborne back up to her feet. He's going for the backdrop driver again but Olivia still won't go up for it. Troy again gives up the attempt and instead sets her up for a Russian Leg Sweep which he pulls off successfully. He goes for the cover afterwards hooking the leg:

1...

2...

Shoulder up!

Caelan Tyler: Troy Munday back in control over Olivia here.

Jake Steel: Just like--

Caelan Tyler: Don't even think of finishing that sentence.

Troy gets in a few shots on the ground before lifting Olivia up and sets her up for a suplex. He lifts, gets her up in the air, and brings her down right on her back. He goes for the cover again:

1...

2...

Kick out!

Troy gets in a few more shots on the ground before picking her back up. He returns the favor of being whipped into the corner earlier by doing the same to her. She hits hard and bounces back. He grabs her and repeats it... no she reverses it. Troy hits the corner as Olivia comes charging in... SHE NAILS THE SPLASH!!! Olivia runs back into the ropes as Troy staggers out. She goes for the Lariat... TROY DUCKS! Troy quickly turns around and grabs Olivia and goes for the backdrop driver... HE GETS HER UP!!! Olivia hits hard and folds up before unfolding lying on her back. Troy is dazed though and unable to go for the cover immediately. He drapes an arm over her...

1...

2...

SHOULDER UP!!!!

Caelan Tyler: Incredible display of power by Troy to hit that move!

The crowd cheers as both competitors have put on a display of athleticism. Troy stands up first staggering to his feet as Olivia rolls around on the mat. Troy delivers a few stomps on Olivia before picking her back up. He goes for the body slam... as he does so Olivia wiggles and squirms and Troy loses his footing falling down with Olivia on top of him. The Ref begins the count:

1...

2...

Kick out!

Troy gets up first again and once again lays the boots down on Olivia before picking her up. He kicks her in the stomach hunching her over and he begins to set her up for The True Blues. Olivia though struggles and refuses to go up for it. Troy gets frustrated and releases the attempt instead pulling Olivia straight up and then lariating her down to the mat. He goes for the cover:

1...

2...

Shoulder up!

Troy again picks Olivia up and brings her to the corner before he body slams her down. He gets a smile on his face as he quickly goes to the top rope preparing for the reverse splash. He jumps and... Olivia rolls out of the way as Troy hits the mat front of body first. Troy rolls over in pain as Olivia rolls away from him to collect herself.

Caelan Tyler: This has been a real back and forth contest, just the sort of bout you want to start things off with.

Jake Steel: Hmm, decisions decisions...

Caelan Tyler: What?

Jake Steel: I can either make another fat joke, or complain about the lack of any juice thus far in the match.

Caelan Tyler: I vote neither.

Olivia is up on her feet now as Troy Munday has always found his way back to his. Troy stumbles into Olivia who kicks him in the stomach and then double underhooks his arms before dropping him with a double underhook DDT. Olivia rolls him over and goes for the cover not hooking the leg:

1...

2...

Kick out!

Olivia seems annoyed with herself, but that perky smile returns to her face quickly as she picks him up and sets him up for another DDT but he is able to back her up and rams her into the corner. He rams her again... and again. He strains but is able to get her on the top rope. He climbs up with her preparing to nail her with a superplex. He goes for it but she resists. He goes for it again but as she has in the past she resists once more. He lets go of the attempt and forearms her a few times to soften her up. He goes for it again... he lifts and THIS TIME HE NAILS IT! Both competitors are now down on the mat as Troy turns around and crawls on top of Olivia for the cover:

1...

2...

Kick out!

Troy slowly stands up wandering what he has to do to put an end to this match. Olivia rolls over and slowly pulls herself up as Troy goes for the running knee lift. Like previously Olivia stands straight up and avoids it. She kicks Troy in the stomach hunching him over before attempting to flip him over in an attempt to nail the Fresh by the Cool. Troy is able to resist though and ends up back body dropping Olivia instead.

Caelan Tyler: You gotta wonder how much more punishment either competitor can take at this point, it's been pretty brutal.

Jake Steel: Brutal to watch you mean.

Troy picks up Olivia and irish whips her into the co... no she reverses throwing him into the corner. She charges like she did previously and SPLASHES HIM AGAIN. She runs into the ropes as he stumbles out and THIS TIME SHE NAILS HIM WITH THE LARIAT! She falls on top of him:

1...

2...

3!

Zach King: Here is your winner... 'COOL AND REFRESHING' OLIVIA WINTERBORNE!

Caelan Tyler: Talk about a hard fought victory for Olivia, Troy took damn near everything she had.

Jake Steel: I bet you wanna go celebrate with her now, huh?

Caelan Tyler: Shut it Jake!

WHO SAYS MONEY...?

Jake Steel: Dude, I'm not saying there's anything wrong with it...

Caelan Tyler: Cram it!

The clattering of a pill bottle is heard as it drops to the floor. A muted curse is heard, as Ethan Dashery hunches over awkwardly in his neck brace, picking the bottle up, and shaking a few into his mouth. He washes it down, taking a swig from his bottle of water. As his eyes return to the hallway before him, he nods, quickly moving forward at the something and gesturing.

Ethan Dashery: Hey, just who I was looking for. Roxy Erikson.

Roxy is heading down the hall the opposite way, and turns slowly to face Ethan, blowing a cloud of smoke in his face from her cigarette. He coughs, giving her a nasty look as he waves away the smoke.

Ethan Dashery: Lovely lady, I see. No matter. Look, I know how you work, I've done my homework. What's it gonna take to make you lay down in that ring for me?

Roxy Erikson: Excuse me?

Ethan shakes his head in annoyance, before rephrasing, and gesturing and slowing down each word for her.

Ethan Dashery: Bloody hell. O-kay. How much...how many dollars...will it take...for you to lose...the match tonight?

Roxy stares at him blankly, before smiling slowly, and drawing close to him.

Roxy Erikson: Look, there's a price on me laying down after the show...

She runs a finger across his jaw line, before putting it right between his eyes and lightly bouncing his head off the wall behind him. He winces, clutching the brace around his neck.

Ethan Dashery: ...but there's no buying mercy from me in the ring. Prepare for hell, pipsqueak!

She blows another gout of smoke across him, and flicks ashes from her cigarette at him, at which he flinches. She stomps off down the hall, but not before turning to give him a final gesture; that of her ripping his balls off and then stomping and grinding them into the ground with her heel. Ethan shivers, before shaking his head in frustration. He glances at the bottle of pills again, as if thinking, before shoving them back into his pocket. Heading down a few more doors, he comes upon one with a makeshift sign on it, spelling 'Okuma.' He shrugs, pounding on the door loudly.

Ethan Dashery: Look, I don't have time for shenanigans, Okuma, you bloody Ja...

The door opens, revealing Okuma's interpreter and manager, Asuka. She opens the door wider, revealing Okuma to be seated at a bench, while Ethan stares Asuka up and down.

Asuka: What do you want?

Ethan Dashery: ...Hey sugar. Well, I came to see your boy, but I could go for seeing a whole lot more of you.

Asuka twitches back in disgust, as Okuma rises, clearly getting more than enough of a gist of what Ethan's saying. He steps between Ethan and Asuka, leading Ethan to step back a bit in the doorway.

Ethan Dashery: Easy there, 'Kuma. Business before pleasure, I like your style. Look, I've got two grand that says Nick James needs a knee busted tonight. Or an ankle snapped...I'm not bloody picky. The kid's gotta learn his place. What you say?

Okuma stares at him in disbelief, as Asuka says something to him in Japanese. Ethan promptly cuts her off.

Ethan Dashery: Look honey, it's not complicated. Let me explain.

He reveals a thick wad of large denomination bills in one hand. He shoves it into Okuma's chest, as Okuma grabs hold of it out of reflex.

Ethan Dashery: This is for you. You need to take care of Nick James. Break. him.

He points to his leg, motioning as if to snap it or twist it, and pantomiming agony, as he continues speaking slowly.

Ethan Dashery: Come on, this is like a trillion yen. And after you...take care...of Nick James...

Ethan produces another wad of bills, and points to them as well.

Ethan Dashery: ...this will be for you too. After you break him. Capiche?

He shakes his head in dismay pocketing the remainder of his cash, before nodding to Okuma, and then Asuka.

Ethan Dashery: Just make sure this bloke does his job.

He pulls a small card from his pocket, quickly flicking it at Asuka.

Ethan Dashery: And that's for you. I'm up for hitting the town, getting some Asian later.

Asuka glowers at Ethan, as he leaves the room, shutting the door behind him. Okuma glares for a moment longer where Ethan stood, shaking his head slowly with a mix of emotions burning across his face.

Caelan Tyler: ...Did Dashery just try to get Okuma to take out Nick James?

Jake Steel: Yeah, and I bet he won't either. Stupid foreigner, no idea of the value of the dollar.

ROXY ERIKSON VERSUS ETHAN DASHERY VERSUS EDDIE WILLIAMS
TRIPLE THREAT

Caelan Tyler: Jake! You're talking about screwing with a man's well-being here!

Jake Steel: So? I like Nick James, don't get me wrong, but a wad of cash is a wad of cash.

The lights dim in the arena as a quiet melody begins to play. Fans are unable to make out what's being played until sparks start to fly out of the top of the stage, and then the volume builds until the unmistakable sound of 'Bad' by Michael Jackson can be heard. The fans start to cheer as Eddie Williams appears on the stage, wearing a red leather jacket and his signature purple and gold boas around his neck. He starts to slap the hands of fans as he makes his way to the ring.

Zach King: The following is a triple threat match, and is scheduled for one fall! Introducing first, from Cleveland, Ohio... Weighing in at 238 pounds... EDDIE WILLIAMS!

Caelan Tyler: Eddie showed some life last Uprising against Olivia Winterborne, but how will he fare in a match against two opponents?

Jake Steel: All I ask is no Michael Jackson dancing, please.

The intro section of 'Something in Your Mouth' by Nickelback begins to play, as the audience attention is drawn to the stage entrance with spotlights and low streaming gouts of sparkling pyrotechnics. On the jumbotron the letter R flickers smoothly on the black screen, directly above the letter E.

Heavier guitars come in hard as the main riff of the song starts, as the pyro erupts high into the air, while on the big screen eruptions flare out as well, finishing the original initials with 'Roxy Erikson' as the crowd goes wild! Appearing at the entrance and stalked with multiple spotlights is wrestling's favorite party animal!

Got to meet the hottie with the million dollar body
They say it's over budget but you pay her just to touch it
Come on!

Roxy Erikson dances her way to the edge of the entrance ramp, popping the corks on the bottle of champagne she has in each hand. She pours them over her body, which is barely clothed as in, in quite the trashiest of attire. She's wearing a barely-there bikini top, with a gaudily silver strip of fabric that may pass in extremely loose circles as a mini-skirt. Her shoes...well, her shoes are six inch glass heels, within which are live goldfish.

Needs to hit the big screen and shoot a little love scene
If Hollywood had called her she'd be gone before you holler
Come on!

As to further raise the bar, she dances her champagne-soaked way down to the ring, grinding her largely bare ass against the guardrail, fans extended arms, and even fans' faces on her way down. Several excited looking young teenagers have their faces slapped heartily with her tits, before she slides triumphantly into the ring, whereupon she produces, cuts, and snorts a fresh line of coke! She strikes a stripper pose in the center of the ring as the remainder of the pyro goes off around the stage and entrance, and her music fades away.

Zach King: Introducing next, from Seattle, Washington... Weighing in at 166 pounds... ROXY ERIKSON!

Caelan Tyler: Roxy's an accomplished wrestler over in Sin Wrestling; this will be her first appearance in NLW. You have to think that her experience will be a key to this match.

Jake Steel: I like her style, Cael. She brings the ABUSE and does it often! Plus that entrance...

The arena lights shift to differing shades of red, as spotlights focus on at the top of the entrance ramp, while 'Debonaire' by Dope begins playing. As the heavier guitars come in, Ethan Dashery steps onto the stage, holding his hands in the air, as if gesturing for the whole world to check him out. He's got a neck brace on, but doesn't seem to be calling any real attention to it.

He saunters down the entrance ramp, sneering at the audience and trading insults with nearby fans. Reaching the ringside area, he charges onto the ring apron near one of the corners, before vaulting over the top rope and into the ring, landing on the adjacent second rope, where he takes a few final pot shots at the fans, and spits at them, before hopping off the ropes. The music fades and the lights return to normal, as Dashery removes the neck brace before he leans cockily in his corner, waiting for the match to start.

Zach King: Making his way to the ring, from Warwick, Rhode Island... Weighing in at 195 pounds... ETHAN DASHERY!

Caelan Tyler: Dashery's known for his underhanded tactics; but will he be able to keep focused during this match with coming out with that neck brace?

Jake Steel: I think he can. After all, money talks, Caelan!

As the bell sounds, Erikson and Dashery immediately gang up on Williams, peppering him with closed fists that finally force him out of the ring. As soon as Williams impacts the mats below, Roxy turns and kicks Ethan in the gut before whipping him across the ring. A clothesline is Dashery's welcome on the rebound, and Roxy falls into a quick cover, only getting one before a shoulder is raised off the mat. Roxy wastes no time in assuming a mount position and wrapping her hands around Ethan's throat, choking him blatantly. The ref starts forcing the count, and Roxy breaks it on four, her face trying to assume a mask of innocence.

Jake Steel: Bwahaha! This is a refreshing change of pace! Get him, Roxy!

Caelan Tyler: It's not legal, but it's effective as Roxy asserts the early control in the match.

As soon as the ref stops his admonishment, Roxy goes right back to the throat, again working on the choke on Dashery. However, the ref doesn't even get to three before Eddie Williams jumps back in the ring and drops a forearm on the back of her head to break the illegal maneuver. Williams is quick to pull Erikson to her feet and whip her into the corner...and then grabs Dashery and whips him into the corner as well. Roxy looks drunk-a state she's all too familiar with-as Ethan falls to the mat. A moment later, so does Roxy...head-first into the crotch of Dashery! A collective groan can be heard from the male audience before Williams drops a leg across the face of Dashery. Cover by Ethan:

1...

2...

Roxy rakes her nails across Ethan's back to break the pin attempt.

Caelan Tyler: That's got to hurt. No question about it.

Jake Steel: Can you make that any more dull and uninteresting, Cael?

Erikson pulls Dashery to his feet, kicks him in the gut and blatantly rakes the eyes of Ethan, sending the high-flyer back to the corner, trying to get his eyes to work. A kick to the gut, followed by a second, are next in line. Roxy is about to strike again, but moves to the side as Williams streaks across the ring and clotheslines Ethan, who is still in the corner. Without breaking momentum, Williams grabs Dashery in a running bulldog position, but Roxy stops this with a kick to the gut, and hits both men with a double DDT! Roxy goes for the cover on Dashery:

1...

2...

Kickout! Without pause, she turns to cover Williams:

1...

2...

Kickout again!

Caelan Tyler: Roxy trying for a win any way she can get it, but no dice on either exchange that time around.

Jake Steel: Give it time, she'll find a way to pull it off. Even without heaping helpings of ABUSE!

Roxy's been in control so far, and as she pulls Eddie to his feet she looks like she wants to continue this trend. A right hand is the opening salvo, and a second staggers Williams. Roxy looks to go to the ropes, but Dashery low-bridges her and Erikson tumbles hard to the outside! Williams looks to capitalize, but gets tossed over the ropes for his troubles. Both Eddie and Roxy are trying to get to their feet as Ethan leaps onto the top rope, eyeing up his targets. A few moments later, he jumps, and takes out both of his opponents with a somersault senton, and it looks like a train wreck on the arena floor as all three wrestlers are down!

Jake Steel: Woo! Look at the carnage!

Caelan Tyler: You have to wonder, though, how much that took out of Dashery.

After a few moments, Dashery gets to his feet, shakes the cobwebs out, and pulls Williams from the pile of bodies before throwing him back in the ring. Ethan seems to be in control now as he springboards off the top rope and hits a leg drop on Eddie. Cover by the youngster:

1...

2...

Two and a half only, as Williams gets a shoulder up! Dashery gets to his feet, watches Eddie struggle to his knees, and blasts Williams with a low enzuigiri! Eddie falls like a sack of potatoes as Dashery goes for another cover:

1...

2...

Williams somehow gets a foot on the ropes to break the count!

Caelan Tyler: Eddie Williams showing some tenacity here as he manages to escape defeat twice in a matter of seconds.

Jake Steel: Which increases the potential for some Eddie Williams ABUSE! I approve of this!

Ethan breaks the pin, looking to pick up Williams for more damage, but Roxy comes in from behind and clotheslines Dashery in the back of the head! Ethan collapses to the mat as Roxy begins to stomp away at his back. A few moments later, she pulls Dashery to his feet and kicks him low in the gut, almost a questionable shot. The ref steps in to admonish the Sin Wrestling veteran, but Roxy simply tells him that he's number one in her book. Turning back to Ethan, a blatant right hook drops the high flyer to the mat, as she turns her attention to Williams. This turns out to be a slight mistake, though, as Williams has recovered and starts to fight back. A knee to the gut stops this, as does a rake to the eyes. Roxy goes to the ropes, looking for maybe a chop block, but Eddie is waiting for her, a clothesline turning Roxy inside out from the impact!

Caelan Tyler: What impact! Roxy Erikson is in deep trouble here; can Eddie Williams capitalize on his second wind?

Jake Steel: Two words: hell, no.

Roxy's in a bit of trouble, and Eddie looks to be in control while Dashery's slumped in the corner, holding his head. With a shout and a raised hand, Eddie runs to the ropes, bounces off, and absolutely destroys Erikson with the Starstruck yakuza kick! Roxy tumbles out of the ring, hardly moving at all as Williams looks down at her, making sure she's been incapacitated. What he misses, though, is Ethan coming from behind... Dashery with a school boy roll-up, and he's got the tights!

1...

2...

3!

The bell rings and Dashery is quick to get out of the ring, knowing he got away with one as he raises his arm in the air.

Zach King: Ladies and gentlemen, here is your winner...ETHAN DASHERY!

Caelan Tyler: Dashery just stole another one!

Jake Steel: Gotta give him props Cael.

LOOKING FOR A FIGHT

Caelan Tyler: What?! Why?!

Jake Steel: He got the win, didn't he?

Caelan Tyler: Well as I'm sure you've noticed by now, I bought the newest super-cool Josh Allen fan T-shirt last week after JA returned to NLW! Things just keep looking brighter for us.

Jake Steel: For you, maybe. Seems to me the light's flickering. Haven't you recognized the JA curse? He becomes champion, the fed dies. History proves it.

Caelan Tyler: No, he becomes champion, and the owners realize there's no need to keep going. They've crowned the best, the best!

A jolt brings the locker room door open, and out steps Josh Allen, clad in a button-up shirt tucked into perfectly starched black slacks and shiny black shoes. His hair is pulled back in a pony tail, and his eye glasses begin to turn dark after being exposed to the bright light in the hallway.

Caelan Tyler: Speak of the devil!

Jake Steel: Oh how right you are.

Allen makes his way down the hallway, looking for something or someone. After several minutes of coming up with nothing, Allen stops a man wearing an 'INTERN' shirt.

Josh Allen: Just who the hell is in charge around here?

The intern thinks for a minute, and gets what he thinks is a good idea.

Intern: Well, I... I think that would be me.

Allen pulls his glasses off, folds them and places them into his front shirt pocket.

Josh Allen: You?

He looks for a name badge on the intern's shirt, but there isn't one.

Josh Allen: So then you're the guy who's going to get the ass-kicking...?

The intern fakes a chuckle and backtracks.

Intern: To be honest, sir, I handed my powers off to someone else. But ya know, I'm not sure... I'm not sure who has those now.

Josh Allen: Can you at least tell me where Jesse Williams' locker room is?

Intern: Yes, I can! It's right there!

The man points down the hallway, excited he was given a question he was able to answer correctly, and without fear of repercussion. Allen nodded and turned to walk that way, but the intern's voice stopped him.

Intern: Oh, but uh, I don't think he's here. I haven't seen anyone go into that room all night. Some guy kicked his ass a few weeks ago at Uprising, and he hasn't really been seen since, from what I hear.

Josh Allen: The NLW champion isn't at Uprising? Are you fucking kidding me? He is still the champion, is he not? Did I miss something in the past 14 days? He does have that piece of gold with this company's acronym written on it, yes?

The intern just agrees, afraid to make JA upset.

Josh Allen: It's worse than I thought. Well, if you ever find out who the hell is running this place tonight, you find me and tell me. Otherwise, I'm going to go pretend I give a fuck about what goes on here and prepare to kick Heat's ass.

Intern: Um... Mr. Allen? That match is...um...next.

Josh Allen: What?! Damnit!

Allen storms off, and the intern breathes a sigh of relief.

Caelan Tyler: No brownie points for our champion tonight, Jake!

Jake Steel: I'm sure there's a perfectly good explanation for Jesse Williams not being here tonight.

Caelan Tyler: Several. He's a moron. He got his ass kicked by Josh Allen last Uprising. And he's afraid of facing him again.

KEVIN HEAT VERSUS JOSH ALLEN
ONE FALL

Jake Steel: You give him way too much credit.

Caelan Tyler: Bah to you Jake for not giving him enough.

'Fireproof' begins to play as Kevin Heat walks onto the stage, pauses, then takes a dead run to the ring. He slides into under the ropes, the crowd watches as he stands on the turnbuckle, getting a big pop from the fans.

Zach King: The following match is scheduled for one fall! Introducing first, from Baltimore, Maryland... Weighing in at 228 pounds... KEVIN HEAT!

Caelan Tyler: Kevin Heat has had no luck the past few shows it seems like, as first Dashery managed to pull a fast one on him, then Josh Allen interrupted his match with Jesse Williams, which would've likely established him as a top contender if he could've won.

Jake Steel: Which he couldn't have.

'Riot' by Three Days Grace hits, causing some unsettled fans to stand and boo. Josh Allen strides onto stage and treads down the aisle, shaking his head in apparent disgust at some of the front-row fans. He's looking quite displeased, still in the slacks from before, although he's gotten rid of the shirt.

Zach King: And his opponent... From Broken Arrow, Oklahoma... Weighing in at 221 pounds... JOSH ALLEN!

Caelan Tyler: Looks like Allen didn't have enough time to get his gear in order!

Jake Steel: HAHA! He looks like such a tool!

The bell rings, and the two veterans in the ring begin to circle, each looking for their chance to capitalize on the first opening presented. Heat taunts the former NLW Champion, telling him to bring it. Josh Allen stares at his opponent for a moment before complying, heading towards the middle and engaging in a test of strength with the former Legacy and Anarchy X Champion. Allen is able to get Heat into a collar and elbow tie-up, holding that for a moment before transitioning into a hammerlock. He cranks back on Heat's arm a bit before Heat is able to free himself and do a standing switch, applying a wristlock on Allen. Allen uses a well-aimed elbow to break that up, then follows it up with a quick hiptoss, sending Heat into a seated position. Allen then delivers a sharp kick into Heat's back, causing boos to start amongst the crowd.

Caelan Tyler: Some chain wrestling early on here from both Heat and Allen, although it looks like Allen has managed to get the upper hand at the moment.

Jake Steel: Ugh, talk about your boring things to watch.

Caelan Tyler: What do you mean boring? Jake, these are two of the best wrestlers in the world doing what they do best.

Jake Steel: You mean bore the crowd? I don't think I'd call that a trademark of the best.

Caelan Tyler: ...*Rolls his eyes*

Allen goads Heat, telling him to get to his feet. Heat shakes his head before getting up, and catches Allen charging him out of the corner of his eye. Heat turns and jumps up, hurdling over Allen's charge. Allen bounces off of the ropes, and as he comes back Heat catches him with an arm drag takedown, immediately shifting his position into an armbar. Showing the same veteran instincts that made him champion before, Allen immediately reaches out, grabbing the ropes and forcing a five count to break the hold. Heat releases it, but quickly slaps a side headlock onto Allen when he stands up. Allen shoves Heat to free himself, and as Heat bounces off of the ropes Allen positions himself, tossing Heat up with a big back body drop that makes the mat shake upon impact.

Caelan Tyler: The pace seems to be picking up a bit here, and both men are well known for their speed and agility.

Jake Steel: And for being absolutely boring!

Caelan Tyler: ...No, they aren't known for that at all Jake.

Jake Steel: Well they should be, with all those boring holds and counters.

Caelan Tyler: You just don't know good wrestling when you see it Jake.

Jake Steel: Sure I do. Dashery and Nick James was awesome.

Caelan Tyler: You just say that because they damn near killed each other.

Jake Steel: I know, and it was amazing!

Heat pops back to his feet, only to eat boot as Allen takes him down again with a dropkick. Allen then scrambles over to Heat, pulling him up and delivering a back suplex, quickly rolling over onto Heat, hooking the leg for a pin attempt:

1...

2...

No, Heat managed to get his shoulder up!

Caelan Tyler: Quick pin attempt there by Allen, no doubt uninterested in dragging the match out here tonight when he's got his sights set on Jesse Williams.

Jake Steel: Psh, I still don't understand why he's getting a shot at the NLW Championship again.

Caelan Tyler: Um, he was never pinned for the belt?

Jake Steel: So? Neither was Titan 3 back in the day.

Caelan Tyler: And he got another shot at it!

Jake Steel: So? Titan 3 rules, Josh Allen doesn't.

Caelan Tyler: *Sighs*

The referee tells Allen that it was two as the Gold Rush tournament winner pulls Heat back to his feet, applying a waistlock. Heat counters the waistlock with an elbow to the side of the head, turning around and tossing Allen up with a body slam. Heat then quickly drills Allen with a leg drop across the sternum. With the wind knocked out of Allen from the blow, Heat goes for a pin attempt of his own:

1...

2...

No, kickout!

Caelan Tyler: Looks like both men have the same idea here.

Jake Steel: Wanting to suck? Yeah they are both experts in that.

Caelan Tyler: They don't suck! Both are high decorated competitors in this business, absolute masters of their craft!

Jake Steel: Yeah, absolute masters of SUCK!

Heat pulls Allen to his feet, whipping him into the ropes while bouncing off of the opposite side himself. Allen rebounds back, and Heat catches him with a flying forearm. Allen gets back up, and Heat bounces off of the ropes again. Allen ducks under Heat's clothesline attempt, and turns around as Heat comes running back. Allen positions himself for drilling Heat with another back body drop, but Heat is ready for this one, leaping up and over, grabbing Allen and rolling him through with a sunset flip:

1...

2...

Allen manages to get his shoulder up just in time!

Caelan Tyler: Heat almost caught Allen for going to the well one time too much.

Jake Steel: Now if only he had just stayed down so we can move onto seeing what sort of crazy shenanigans Nick James has planned for tonight.

Caelan Tyler: I don't think the fans are ready for this match to be over yet Jake.

Jake Steel: So? This is about what I want, not what the fans want.

Caelan Tyler: Somehow I don't think Eriq Mobely agrees with you there Jake.

Jake Steel: Who cares? Mobely is a real tool anyways.

Caelan Tyler: I couldn't disagree with you more Jake...

Jake Steel: What else is new?

Heat follows up the pin attempt with a quick neckbreaker, planting Allen back onto the mat. A sharp elbow drop to the forehead later and Heat had a firm control on the match. Pulling Allen up, a quick irish whip followed, with a spinning back elbow. The crowd's cheering as Heat motions to the ropes that he's going up top. Once up there, Heat waits as Allen gets to his feet before launching off with a flying cross body. He catches the former champion across the chest and both men hit the mat, with Allen able to roll through for a pin attempt:

1...

2...

No, shoulder up!

Caelan Tyler: Big move by Heat there, but Allen was able to roll through to try to get the pin there.

Jake Steel: A real wrestler would've just put Allen through a table and had been done with it.

Caelan Tyler: I'm sure you believe that Jake.

Jake Steel: I do!

Caelan Tyler: Only you Jake... Only you...

Jake Steel: Only me what?

Caelan Tyler: ...Nevermind.

Allen and Heat both get to their feet at the same time, and Allen takes advantage by drilling Heat's skull to the mat with an implant DDT! Allen takes a moment to catch his breath before taunting Heat to get back on, motioning to the fans that he's looking for the Touch of Reality! Heat gets up, and Allen moves quickly, trying to hook Heat's arms. Heat manages to shove Allen off and into the ropes, and as Allen bounces back Heat catches his with his Heartburn superkick right to the chest! Allen goes down, and Heat falls back, leaning against the ropes for a moment to regain his bearings. Heat then climbs up to the top turnbuckle, posing for the fans before leaping off for his Flamebroiled moonsault! Allen apparently had more left in the tank than Heat had thought, and rolls clear of the move. Heat manages to spot this and rotates enough to land on his feet. Allen pounces the moment he lands, however, kicking him in the gut before hooking his arms and flipping him over, smashing him to the match with the Touch of Reality! Allen goes for the pin:

1...

2...

3!

Zach King: Here is your winner... JOSH ALLEN!

Caelan Tyler: Looks like Heat's unlucky streak continues here as Josh Allen picks up a big win on his return to NLW.

Jake Steel: Finally, it's over!

ARE YOU BEING SERVED?

Caelan Tyler: I think you're way too picky Jake.

Jake Steel: And you aren't picky enough.

Ethan Dashery marches down a hall backstage, his lips curled into a malevolent snarl while a thick neck brace holds his head high, his mood seemingly not brightened by his win earlier. On his right is his manservant, George Stapleton, and on his left is an unfamiliar figure in a suit. Leading the trio to a certain doorway, Ethan unlatches the door, before kicking it wide open. Inside, Eriq Mobely is sitting behind his desk, looking unfazed by Ethan's violent entrance.

Eriq Mobely: Yes?

Ethan Dashery: You know why I'm here, peon.

Eriq Mobely: Actually...no.

Ethan's face reddens, as he motions to the suited man at his left.

Ethan Dashery: I'll let my lawyer explain, if you're going to play the fool.

Lawyer: Mr. Mobely, I'm serving you papers regarding an unsafe workplace lawsuit, brought against you and NLW by Mr. Dashery. Not only did you not disqualify his opponent, Mr. James, after a maneuver intentionally designed not to win a match but to endanger a career, you then rewarded said behavior by giving Nick James further main event billing, and lowering Mr. Dashery's position on the card.

Eriq Mobely: Are you serious? That's the stupidest thing I ever heard! It was an Anything Goes match! As in, 'Anything Goes!'

Lawyer: The piledriver is a banned maneuver in many promotions, Mr. Mobely, for the danger it presents. A wrestler would be immediately disqualified for using it, and most likely either fined or suspended as well. You allowed a piledriver through a table, injuring my client's neck, and then punished him for losing after taking such a devastating and illegal maneuver and rewarded his opponent on tonight's card! This is unacceptable, Mr. Mobely.

Mobely shakes his head in amused disbelief, at the prospect of something less than 'anything goes' in an 'Anything Goes' match.

Ethan Dashery: You listen well, moron. I'm quite magnanimous and merciful, when people know their places in the world. I'll likely settle for far less than I could get, which would be me sinking this entire federation like the alms-house Titanic that it is. When I've decided my terms, I'll let you and the rest of this federation know. Until then, let it be known that you and everyone under contract here is under notice.

He jabs a finger at Mobely, as he slowly backs away and out of the room, followed by his servant. His lawyer slaps a handful of papers loudly on Mobely's desk, before turning and walking out as well. Eriq picks up the papers, glancing at them for a moment before shrugging and tossing them into a nearby trash can.

Caelan Tyler: Looks like Ethan wants something for his neck being hurt, although Eriq doesn't seem the least bit fazed.

Jake Steel: Leave it to that idiot to not care about the company.

'UNTAMED' NICK JAMES VERSUS OKUMA
LEGACY CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH

Caelan Tyler: What do you mean? He busted his ass to get NLW reopened.

Jake Steel: And it could be closed again because of this!

Caelan Tyler: I really hope not.

Lights go out as the crowd ohhhs and ahhs in anticipation. Evolution by Ayumi Hamasaki begins as a light show plays. Okuma followed by his ring entourage begins to run through the hallway and out to the entrance area. His (and the entourage's) run slows to a walk as the crowd cheers him down the entrance way. A spotlight flashes down on him and follows him all the way. The entourage follows behind Okuma as he jumps up onto the ring entrance and enters the ring going to a neutral corner. He then removes his bright purple ring robe and tosses it to a member of his entourage. His entourage, with the exception of his interpreter and manager Asuka, then walk back to the locker room area.

Zach King: The following match is for the Legacy Championship and will be contested under Legacy rules! Introducing first, from Osaka, Japan... Weighing in at 232 pounds... OKUMA!

Caelan Tyler: I can definitely see Okuma as the Legacy champion--his style fits the belt perfectly.

Jake Steel: You mean the style of putting people to sleep? BORING!

Flickering red and purple stage lights strobe over the dimmed entrance and the upbeat tempo of Angry Young Man by Billy Joel slams out through the arena. The curtains burst open with flourish and James pauses on the stage, looking down to peer out at the crowd over top his sunglasses, with both the Legacy and NLW Tag Team championships strapped around his mid-section. Soaking in their cheers for a moment, James brushes them off, marching toward the ring while he wraps white tape around his wrists. James leaps from the floor to the apron without even taking a running start, then hooks an arm over the middle rope and rolls through into the ring, throwing his arms out to the sides and spinning in a circle as he enjoys the spotlight. He then eyes Dashery as he unhooks the belts from around his waist and hands them to the referee.

Zach King: And his opponent, from Brantford, Ontario, Canada... Weighing in at 171 pounds... He is the one half of the NLW Tag Team champions as well as the Legacy champion... 'UNTAMED' NICK JAMES!

Caelan Tyler: This will be Nick's first defense of the Legacy belt, but you have to wonder if his inexperience will be his undoing in this match.

Jake Steel: Please, Cael. We've had Legacy champions who weren't so-called 'technical wizards,' like Kevin Heat, Aph Jordan, and Draco. Nick will be just fine!

The bell sounds to start this match, as both men come out of their respective corners. Nick seems a bit hesitant to start, as he ducks under an attempted collar-and-elbow tie-up from Okuma and skirts to the backside of his opponent. Okuma effortlessly turns to remain facing his adversary, the look on his face impassive as he focuses on the figure of the reigning Legacy champion. A tie-up is again attempted, and this time succeeds as Okuma takes advantage with a side headlock. A moment passes before Nick gets out of the hold, getting a sloppy rear waistlock on Okuma before the challenger easily breaks the hold and goes behind with a hammerlock on the champion. Without thinking, Nick manages to get the two of them to the ropes, using his first break within a minute of starting the match.

Caelan Tyler: And here's the inexperience I talked about earlier, Jake. Not a good idea to be wasting rope breaks this early in the match.

Jake Steel: Nick doesn't need them. Not when he brings the ABUSE!

Once again, the pair tie up, and this time Nick gets the early advantage with an arm wringer, looking to drive his elbow into the arm of the challenger. Thinking quickly, Okuma drops to a knee and brings his other arm around, clipping Nick in the back of the knees to drop him to the mat and break the hold. Both men are quickly back up, and Nick shows that he's had enough of this technical stuff by blasting the Japanese wrestler with a hard right hand! A second one follows this up, and Nick uses the momentary surprise to land a nice standing dropkick to send Okuma to the mat. Nick looks for a quick cover, but barely gets a one-count as Okuma easily gets free. As Okuma rises, Nick is already coming off the near-side ropes, hitting a low dropkick flush in the chest of his challenger. The impact forces Okuma to roll out of the ring and off the apron as Nick stands tall in the ring, trying to get the fans into the match.

Jake Steel: Okay, that didn't even register on the Abuse-o-meter, but I think Nick just told everyone what he thinks of this Legacy Rules stuff.

Caelan Tyler: Okuma needs to be careful; James has proven that outside the ring he can be devastating.

The ref begins his count, oblivious to what Nick has apparently planned behind him. As the count gets to three, and Okuma starts to get to his feet, Nick makes his move by charging towards the opposite side of the ring. The ref hears this and manages to scurry out of the way in time...but so does Okuma, who saw Nick coming as he leapt. However, in Okuma's haste to get out of the way, he doesn't realize that Nick had faked him out, had only hopped to the apron, and finally realizes it as Nick hits an Asai moonsault to send both men sprawling to the floor outside the ring! The count is reset as Nick rises to his feet, grinning and nodding at the crowd in a corner of the ringside area with their 'Splatter Zone' signs and white shirts.

Caelan Tyler: Okuma's in trouble early, Jake!

Jake Steel: As expected. This Okuma guy reminds me too much of a crippled fat waste of space.

Caelan Tyler: ...You never give it a rest, do you?

Now out in 'no man's land,' Nick decides to use the environment to his advantage as he whips Okuma hard into the steel barricade at the base of the entrance ramp, and catches a staggering Okuma on the return with a shining wizard, the impact reverberating throughout the arena. The ref's count is at four, and Nick rolls back into the ring just before five, his eyes never letting Okuma out of their sight as the ref continues to count. Six! Okuma is starting to stir, but doesn't seem to be able to make it to the ring just yet. Seven! Okuma's gotten to his feet, and turns around, instinctively realizing that he needs to get back inside the squared circle. Eight! One hand on the ropes, the Japanese wrestler looks to force himself to get in the ring, but again is caught by Nick, sliding into a spinning head scissors takedown. Again, Okuma impacts the barrier, this time right next to Nick's Splatter Zone as the ref forces the count again from the beginning.

Caelan Tyler: You have to wonder if perhaps Nick should have let Okuma attempt to get in the ring; he may have had the countout victory there.

Jake Steel: And deny us ABUSE? You foolish man!

Nick is up to his feet, urging the crowd to come alive as he measures Okuma up for another risky move. The challenger finally gets to his feet, dazed as Nick once more charges in...but the champ goes to the well one time too often as Okuma rolls out of harm's way and James accidentally nails one of the fans in the front row with a spinning leg lariat! The Legacy champ and a good portion of the Splatter Zone are on the floor as Okuma rolls back into the ring, content for the moment to catch a breather.

Caelan Tyler: Not quite what James was aiming for, as he takes out half of the front row!

Jake Steel: They paid to get in, they take their chances!

As the ref's count passes five, Nick manages to extricate himself from the Splatter Zone and is heading into the ring. As he gets to his feet, though, Okuma is waiting for him as a kick to the thigh drops the Legacy champ to one knee. A front facelock is soon applied, and Okuma uses his weight to force James down to the mat, carrying both his own and his opponent's weight through the rest hold. Nick seems to be trying to find a way to squirm out of this hold, but is having no luck as he finally gets to his knees to relieve some of the pressure. Okuma gets to his feet, still with the hold locked in, and as James attempts to do likewise Okuma cinches the waist and delivers a snap suplex. Nick barely has time to land before Okuma's back up, a rear chinlock applied to the champion while one knee is driven between the shoulder blades of James. Nick kicks his feet out, and ends up hitting the bottom rope with his right foot, forcing the ref to break the hold.

Caelan Tyler: That is Nick's second allotted rope break, and again I wonder if he's just not realizing that he's only allowed three breaks for the match.

Jake Steel: And again I tell you, he doesn't need them!

Okuma's proven himself to be in control of the match since James' mishap with the leg lariat, and as the two wrestlers regain their footing, Okuma comes in with a palm thrust to the gut of the champion. James doubles over, and Okuma quickly takes the legs out from under James before locking in a variated bow-and-arrow backbreaker to eventually set up the Deathlock submission. Nick's got nowhere to run to, as the hold is dead center in the ring, and his resounding 'NO!' when the ref asks him if he wants to give it up rings through the arena. After a long minute or so of cranking on the hold, Okuma finally releases it, looking to find another way to further weaken the champion. He has it a moment later, as after a hard kick to the spine, Okuma grabs the left leg of James and applies a simple knee bar on it, driving his own knee into the hamstring of the champion. Nick tries bringing his other foot up to kick Okuma away, but the wily veteran knows that trick and ducks before wrenching on the leg to further weaken it. He does it a second time for good measure, and then locks in the dreaded spinning toe hold, really cranking down on the foot and knee of Nick James. However, after the third repetition, Okuma tries for a fourth one but is met by a kick to the gut, forcing the break. Nick rolls to his feet, limping a little on his left side, but still has the wherewithal to charge in and attempt a clothesline. Okuma knows it's coming, though, and easily ducks the attempt. As Nick stumbles around, trying to line up a second attack, Okuma simply grabs the waist and executes a flawless gutwrench suplex. He goes for the cover, but didn't realize at the time that Nick's foot landed beneath the bottom rope, forcing the last use of Nick's rope breaks in the early portions of the match.

Caelan Tyler: One has to think that Okuma has the clear advantage now; he can crank on a submission and James has no easy way to get out of it.

Jake Steel: Caelan, lemme ask you something. Why do you get such enjoyment out of boring matches like the typical Legacy title match?

Caelan Tyler: I like technical wrestling, you like garbage wrestling. To each their own.

Jake Steel: So you think Nick is a garbage wrestler?

Caelan Tyler: I never said that, Jake...

Jake Steel: LIES! You admitted it!

Caelan Tyler: ...

Realizing the tremendous advantage he now has over the champion, Okuma gets Nick up on his knees before grabbing the head and leaning back, the pressure building in the neck and back area as Okuma locks in a modified dragon sleeper. Nick tries to reach the ropes, but is too far away at the moment as Okuma rains down forearm shots onto the exposed midsection of the champion. James tries to find a way out of this predicament but is having no success with it, and it seems like the champion is starting to fade out as Okuma wrenches back on the head and neck. The ref moves in to check and raises Nick's arm, which drops immediately. He does this a second time, with the same result. The ref tries it for the third and final time, but Nick's arm does not drop...instead, it reaches up and rakes the eyes of Okuma, forcing a break in the more unorthodox manner.

Jake Steel: There you go, Nick! Keep at it!

Caelan Tyler: The ref doesn't look happy with the move, but it's effective nonetheless as Nick gets out of the hold.

Nick is slow to get up, the wear-down holds and the dragon sleeper having obviously taken their toll on his body. Okuma finally gets his vision clear and moves in, looking to put the champion away with one more good submission hold. However, Nick is able to catch Okuma coming in with a kneeling jawbreaker, and then catch the stunned challenger with a shining wizard that hits right on the throat! Both men collapse as the ref begins his ten-count. The crowd seems evenly split between the two as the cheering raises to near-deafening levels. The referee's count reaches six before Okuma gets to his feet, his legs a bit shaky. Nick is on both knees, holding the ropes for support as he tries to stand. He finally manages to do so as Okuma closes in, looking for an open-handed chop. Nick takes the blow and comes back with a right hand of his own. Okuma chops again, and once again Nick counters with a punch. It's degenerating into an all-out slugfest as James throws a knee to the gut of the challenger and comes off the far side ropes. Okuma ducks, and as Nick leaps headfirst over his opponent he drives an elbow right into the kidneys of the challenger, causing Okuma to rear up in pain. Nick lands in a roll, quickly turns around, and drops Okuma with a bulldog! Quick cover by the champion:

1...

2...

Shoulder gets up at two and a half!

Jake Steel: Come on, Nick, we want blood! You're the hardcore prodigy, damn it, make him bleed!

Caelan Tyler: Jake...this is NOT an Anarchy X match. Don't hold your breath.

Jake Steel: Spoilsport....

That little bit of action seems to have lit a fire under Nick as he stands by the ropes, waiting for Okuma to get to his feet. As the challenger does just that, Nick hops onto the middle rope and leaps off, turning in mid-air to hit with a leaping forearm that drops Okuma to one knee. Nick kips to his feet, a smile crossing his face as he knows he's dictating the match now. Okuma is real slow to stir, and is not helped much as Nick grabs the legs of the challenger and pulls him to one of the corners. Nick gets Okuma hooked up for what appears to be a slingshot into the turnbuckles...but when Nick releases, Okuma goes airborne a bit more than planned and hits the metal support link that connects the ropes to the ring post! The challenger collapses to the mat, and within moments one can see the blood beginning to come out of the wound on Okuma's forehead.

Jake Steel: YES! There's the ABUSE I was waiting for!

Caelan Tyler: You have to think that it was an accident, but regardless, Nick just gave himself a huge advantage!

It's almost as if the sight of blood has brought James to life, as he pulls Okuma to his feet and starts hammering away with right hands, looking to widen the wound and cover Okuma's face in the proverbial crimson mask. A hard Irish whip follows, sending Okuma sternum first into the turnbuckles. As he staggers back a step or two, Nick dashes in and leaps, slamming the challenger's face into the turnbuckle with authority! Okuma falls to the mat as James hops on for the pin attempt:

1...

2...

Two and half only, as the left shoulder comes up. Undeterred, Nick once again picks up Okuma and whips him into the turnbuckles, this time in the corner nearest to the Splatter Zone. That corner of the arena seems to come alive as Nick hits a charging dropkick on Okuma, who has nowhere to go! Sweat and blood seem to fly everywhere as the challenger falls to the mat, and again Nick goes for the cover. He doesn't even get a one-count, though, as Okuma's foot was under the bottom rope.

Caelan Tyler: And that's the first of Okuma's rope breaks; he's been smart to hold on to them for this long.

Jake Steel: No, he's just taking the easy way out!

Caelan Tyler: But when Nick does it, it's okay. I'll have to remember that...

Shaking his head, Nick gives a quick stomp to the head of his opponent before going to the top rope, perhaps to look for the Anti-Williams and to put the final touches on a title defense. As he reaches the top strand, however, he's greeted by a round kick from Okuma, who had quickly recovered. Nick is stunned on the top rope as Okuma dashes up to the middle rope, grabs an arm, and hits a super arm drag, sending Nick halfway across the ring. There is a long second or two before Okuma recovers enough to go for a cover:

1...

2...

Thr--shoulder up by Nick and it continues! Okuma has a look of 'what else is left?' on his face as he gets to his feet and waits for Nick to do likewise. As James gets up, Okuma goes back on the offensive, hitting several open-handed chops and forearm blows to the head and upper torso of the champion to stun him. With a brief pause, Okuma leaps forward and hits a pump kick that propels Nick back-first into the corner. A roaring elbow follows this, and Nick seems to be in a world of trouble as he slumps against the turnbuckle. Okuma backs up a few steps and charges forward, looking perhaps for a somersault kick, but instead Nick steps aside and uses a drop toe hold, once more sending Okuma's face into the metal support bracket! The wound on Okuma's head is now bleeding profusely, and as he staggers back to his feet it's easy to see the blood covering his face before Nick drives Okuma's head into the mat with a DDT! The stain on the mat remains as Nick rolls the challenger over for a pin attempt:

1...

2...

Th--foot on the ropes!

Jake Steel: Someone call the Red Cross, Okuma's obviously looking to donate blood tonight!

Caelan Tyler: That's Okuma's second rope break, and now you've got to wonder if Okuma will even be able to medically continue.

Frustration begins to show on the face of the champion as he wonders what else is left to be done. He glances over at the turnbuckles and the crowd, sensing what the champ has in mind, goes wild. A grin crosses Nick's face as he steps out and heads toward the corner, but he sees Okuma start to stir, and knows that the Anti-Williams is out of the question. Instead, he tenses his legs, waiting for Okuma to get up. As the challenger finally does, Nick leaps onto the middle of the top rope and springs off, looking for a spinning head scissors. However, Okuma is ready and instead manages to stay standing, though the momentum of Nick trying to take him over sends the two of them into the referee, who stumbles to the mat, looking a bit woozy from the collision.

Jake Steel: Anything goes now, Nick! Get him!

Caelan Tyler: I'm not sure how Okuma managed to resist that head scissors for the most part, but what's going to happen with the ref down?

With the ref down, and Nick and Okuma separated, the challenger gets the opening salvo in with a spinning back fist, and an elbow to the temple. Nick staggers back, woozy, as Okuma looks to shoot in for a takedown...but Nick was ready, ducking low and lifting Okuma over his head. Time seems to stand still as Okuma falls from up high, landing sternum first on the turnbuckle support. As the ref looks to be regaining his senses, Nick thinks fast grabs the feet of Okuma, and lifts. The push is enough for Okuma to go over the ring post and land, back and feet first, on the steel steps! Weary, Nick staggers over to a neutral corner and slumps in it as the fans erupt in a 'Holy Shit' chant.

Jake Steel: These people are taking the words from my mouth! Damn!

Caelan Tyler: I've got to question the morality of that move, Jake! That's grounds for a disqualification and a title change under the Legacy Rules!

Jake Steel: If the ref never saw it, it never happened, Cael! Brilliant move by Nick James!

Okuma has not moved since hitting the steps, and as the ref finally gets his composure, he sees Okuma outside the ring, Nick in a corner, and begins to count Okuma out. One! Two! Three! Four! Okuma's beginning to stir, but his movements are slow and sluggish. Five! Six! The challenger is finally off the steps, and is on all fours as he tries to figure out where the hell he is. Seven! Eight! He's finally got an idea, and grabs the apron, trying to stand. Nine! Okuma tries to get to his feet, but his legs simply don't cooperate as he slumps against the apron. Ten! The referee calls for the bell as some of the fans boo the result of the match, while others like the Splatter Zone erupt in loud cheers.

Zach King: The winner of this match as a result of a countout, and STILL the NLW Legacy Champion...'UNTAMED' NICK JAMES!

Caelan Tyler: Nick managed to get the job done here tonight, although I can't say I really appreciated how he did it...

Jake Steel: Whoo! Knew the kid could do it!

Caelan Tyler: Looks like we're outta time, see you next Uprising!

The referee hands Nick his Legacy Championship and slides out of the ring as Okuma recovers enough to stand up. He looks over at Nick, staring the retaining champ down for a moment before extending his hand. Nick accepts, shaking Okuma's hand before going back to celebrate his win with the Splatter Zone as the screen cuts to black...
