'Game On' by Discipline begins to play as the words 'NLW' flash across the screen, and the scene flashes back to last Uprising, where the NLW returned for the first time in months. The Phoenix announced that he had vacated the Anarchy X championship due to injury. 'Untamed' Nick James won a triple threat match against the debuting Olivia Winterbourne and Okuma when his former partner X-Terminator interfered, and in the main event Ethan Dashery beat Kevin Heat after the referee counted a questionable pinfall. The scene cuts to ringside, with Caelan Tyler and Jake Steel. Caelan Tyler: Hello and welcome to Uprising! I'm Caelan Tyler and with me here as always is 'The Real Deal' Jake Steel! Jake Steel: Man, I don't even know how this show will stack up with the abuse I saw last night. Caelan Tyler: Last night? Jake Steel: I ordered UFC 100 and put it on the company tab! Go go not paying for pay per views! Caelan Tyler: Um... Anyways, let's get back to Uprising before Jake says something else to get himself in trouble! Jake Steel: Hey! Caelan Tyler: We got a nice little card set up for tonight, with Olivia Winterbourne taking on a mystery opponent, X-Terminator taking on Okuma, Kevin Heat taking on Jesse Williams and in our main event 'Untamed' Nick James will be taking on Ethan Dashery in an anything goes match! Jake Steel: Woot! I can't wait to see the abuse from that! Caelan Tyler: NLW management also has a special surprise lined up for fans later tonight.
Jake Steel: Surprise? No one told me about a surprise. Caelan Tyler: It was discussed last night. You know, when you were watching that pay per view. Jake Steel: Oh. Caelan Tyler: Anyways, last week in a three way battle, Okuma ended up in a losing effort to Nick James. However, despite this his performance impressed many people me included. Now, thanks to the footage provided to us by various Japanese and American independent sources, we now give you a special look at our rookie Okuma The scene changes to a video package. An announcer's voice is heard... Voice: Hailing from Osaka, Japan... OKKKKUMMMMAAAAAAAA!!!!!! Japanese battle music begins as the video package opens up with Okuma walking to the ring followed by his entourage. The next scene is a Japanese opponent attempting to clothesline Okuma who blocks it and hits an STO in exchange. The video package continues as Okuma is palm thrusting an American opponent into oblivion in the corner of the ring. The next scene is of Okuma standing outside as an opponent tries to dive on him... Okuma simply moves out of the way as the opponent crashes to the mat... Then while the opponent is on all fours Okuma delivers a hard kick to the back. Chanting Voices O... Ku... Ma... O... Ku... Ma... The video package continues with various shots of submission holds. Okuma performing cattle mutilation on a Japanese opponent, a Fujiwara Arm bar on an American opponent, another opponent suffers from a half boston crab. Various shots of Okuma attempting figure fours and step over toe holds is then shown. Chanting Voices O... Ku... Ma... O... Ku... Ma... An opponent swings at Okuma who ducks. The opponent had swung wildly and now has his back facing Okuma. Okuma half nelsons him and suplexes him right unto his neck. Another scene shows Okuma belly to belly suplexing a Japanese opponent, Okuma spins around an American opponent and hits him with a brutal German suplex dropping him on his neck. Louder Chanting Voices O... KU... MA... O... KU... MA... O... KU... MA!!!!!! The final scenes are various shots of Okuma applying the Osaka Deathlock on various opponents. Then the scenes show these very opponents tapping violently to the hold wanting it to be released. Then various shots of Okuma releasing the hold and pumping his fist in victory at the same time his mouth opening to give a victory cry. A few close ups of his opponent's faces etched in pain are shown... but the final shot is of Okuma standing on the second turnbuckle his hands raised over his head in victory. The chanting continues until it dies out as the video package fades to black. Dying Out Chanting Voices: O... KU... MA... O... KU... ma... O... ku... ma...o... ku... ma... Then silence as the video package ends. Caelan Tyler: Well that was an interesting display of the Japanese competitor's talent. Jake Steel: If by interesting you mean boring!
Caelan Tyler: Come on Jake, not all wrestling is about hitting your opponent with a chair. Jake Steel: But it should be! 'Walking on Sunshine' begins playing, as the lights of the arena shift into bright shades of pink, green, and blue. Olivia Winterbourne steps out onto the stage, wearing an intensely bright pink singlet, with a sparkly My Little Pony design in the middle of her chest. She strikes a pose for the audience, as bright colored fireworks and sparklers go off behind her. She hops happily down one side of the ramp, high five-ing every...single...person on that side. When she reaches the bottom, she heads all the way back up, and repeats for the other side, making sure to not miss a single extended hand. Once she finally gets to the ring, she slides in, and grabs a microphone from a staffer. Olivia Winterbourne: I'm Olivia Winterbourne... The audience cheers decently. Olivia Winterbourne: ...and YOU'RE AWESOME! The crowd goes nuts, as she tosses the microphone out of the ring, as her music stops playing. Zach King: The following match is scheduled for one fall! Introducing first, from West Valley, Utah... Weighing in at 280 pounds... 'COOL AND REFRESHING' OLIVIA WINTERBOURNE! Caelan Tyler: Olivia was impressive in her debut last Uprising, but now we'll see how she fares against a mystery opponent. Zach King: And her opponent, from Cleveland, Ohio... Weighing in at 238 pounds... EDDIE WILLIAMS! Caelan Tyler: Olivia with the victory here tonight over Eddie Williams, and an impressive one at that! Jake Steel: Bah, that's just what happens when you try to do that kind of showboating.
Caelan Tyler: What do you mean that kind? Jake Steel: The crappy kind. Caelan Tyler: Bah! Anyways, I'm getting word from management that it's now time for the surprise they have lined up for all the NLW fans out there. Jake Steel: Oh nice, I like surprises, especially one's I'm not in on. Caelan Tyler: Well right now NLW is still working out all the legal issues pertaining to the two 'missing' shows that weren't aired, but we have gotten permission to air some matches from those shows, and we're going to start doing that right now! Jake Steel: Whoa!
The jumbotron comes to life, displaying a scene from earlier in the year. The crowd on the screen seems hyped up as 'Oh Canada' starts to play, and The Mother CaNuckers, X-Terminator and 'Untamed' Nick James, make their way to the ring, each man carrying a Canadian flag. Zach King: The following match is scheduled for one fall and is for the NLW Tag Team Championships! Introducing first, weighing in at a combined weight of 403 pounds... They are the team of the NLW Legacy Champion X-Terminator and 'Untamed' Nick James... THE MOTHER CANUCKERS! Caelan Tyler: This team only formed a few weeks back, you have to imagine they'll be the underdogs in this contest. Jake Steel: Not to mention they're Canadian. That's handicap enough right there. 'Close Friends' by Adema begins to play and a ying-yang appears on the big screen as strobe lights fill the arena, flickering on and off. Onto the ramp walks Talon and The Jackrabbit side-by-side, their eyes scanning the crowd. The Jackrabbit tips back his head and begins to laugh, and Talon gives him a look from the corner of his eyes, a piece of lead-piping in one hand. Talon walks now to the ring, followed closely by The Jackrabbit who skips along behind him. Talon slides under the ropes into the ring, as The Jackrabbit bounces onto the apron and climbs through the middle rope. Talon climbs the nearest turnbuckle, holding his arms out as The Jackrabbit crosses the ring and leaps onto the opposite, lifting two index fingers and giving his salute to the crowd. Both men then return to their feet, and Talon tosses his lead-piping to ringside. The referee then takes the Tag titles from around their waists. Zach King: And their opponents, weighing in at a combined weight of 536 pounds... they are the reigning NLW Tag Team Champions... Talon and The Jackrabbit... FUSION! Caelan Tyler: One has to think that Fusion is already looking past their opponents tonight and onto the next challenge. Jake Steel: Wait, you mean the Jackrabbit can actually comprehend what's happening around him? Caelan Tyler: ... Without even a glance of confirmation, Talon leaves the ring to allow Jackrabbit the chance to start the match. On the opposite side of the ring, there's a brief discussion before X-Terminator reluctantly steps outside the ropes. The two legal men move cautiously to the center of the ring, where they tie-up. 'Rabbit has the power advantage and wastes little time in backing James into a neutral corner, breaking cleanly when prompted to by the official. James returns to the center of the ring, and once again the legal men in the bout tie up. This time Jackrabbit clamps on a side headlock, which Nick is able to break free of by shoving 'Rabbit into the ropes. Off the rebound, a shoulder block takes Nick to the mat. Jackrabbit goes back to the ropes, as Nick goes low, leapfrogs Rabbit on the rebound, and hits a drop toe hold on The Unorthodox One on the third trip. 'Rabbit cautiously gets back to his feet, his eyes never leaving the figure of Nick James. Caelan Tyler: Nick surprising Jackrabbit on the opening exchange. It's not to Nick's advantage to slug it out with his opponents. Jake Steel: Thank you, Captain Obvious. Caelan Tyler: I prefer Admiral Apparent, but be that as it may... The two circle the ring again, but as the tie-up is attempted Nick ducks underneath, ending up behind Jackrabbit. The champ turns to face the rookie but eats a textbook dropkick for his troubles. James is up a moment before Jackrabbit, and waits for his opponent to stand before charging in with a clothesline to drop the NLW Tag Champ. Nick looks for a quick cover, but doesn't even get a one as 'Rabbit is quickly out of it. Nick goes to press the attack further, but Jackrabbit is ready with a stiff right hand that stuns James. 'Rabbit is quick to follow this up with... a wet willie? Nick backs clear across the ring, staring daggers at the Tag champ posing for the fans after embarrassing Nick. Caelan Tyler: And Jackrabbit's unusual offense has given him a chance to slow the pace down. Jake Steel: ...Why am I not surprised? 'Rabbit turns his attention back to the match as Nick manages to maintain his composure somewhat and reach behind him for the tag. X-Terminator complies, and enters the ring as Nick exits. Another tie-up follows, and this time 'Rabbit is on the wrong end of the exchange, as X-T locks in a hammerlock. It's quickly broken by a back elbow, though, and Jackrabbit creates some space, backing near his own corner. From the apron, Talon reaches out for the tag, which is quickly made. The Hunter enters the ring, staring down the Legacy Champion. Jake Steel: Now this could lead to some good abuse, Caelan. You have Talon and his lead piping, and the man who should still be the OWF PDA Champion in X-Terminator. I'm looking forward to this. Caelan Tyler: You know, Jake, I'm just going to save my breath so when you finally get yours, I can laugh. X-Terminator can be seen sizing up this new threat as he moves in. Talon tries for a surprise clothesline that X-T somehow ducks, and as Talon charges back in the Legacy champion arm drags Talon to the mat, locking in an armbar. Talon is quick to find a way back to a vertical base, stomping on X-Terminator's foot to cause the break. The Hunter charges in after being freed, a clothesline the result as X-T falls to the mat. Talon looks for a quick elbow, but the Legacy Champ is able to roll aside as Talon hits nothing but mat. Before Talon can regain a vertical base, X-T slides in and hooks up a side headlock, wrenching on the neck of the big man. Talon moves around a bit, looking for a way to get back up as the Legacy Champion wrenches on the hold. Finally, Talon is able to shift his weight, freeing him up slightly. As The Hunter starts to get up, X-T breaks the hold and runs to the ropes. Talon somehow sensed this was coming, though, and rolls to the side to avoid the low dropkick from X-Terminator. Both men are up at the same time, staring daggers at each other as the crowd applauds that exhibition of chain wrestling. Jake Steel: Wait a minute. This isn't the abuse I was promised! Caelan Tyler: Sucks to be you, Jake. Jake Steel: ... Talon comes in, looking for a tie-up, but X-Terminator goes behind with a rear waistlock, looking for possibly a takedown. Talon goes dead weight on X-T though, and the Legacy champion is unable to lift his opponent. A back elbow to the temple stuns X-T, and Talon is quick to spin around and deliver a quick powerslam to his opponent. He didn't catch much of it due to the quick movement, but he holds for a cover regardless as X-Terminator kicks free just before the two count. Getting to his feet, Talon pulls X-T up by the hair, but a forearm shiver stops that as X-T backs away to create some space. Talon moves forward, but this time catches a dropkick to the knees that drapes him over the middle rope. Tag is made to Nick James, who somersaults into the ring and takes off at a run to the opposite side of the ring. On the rebound, Nick dropkicks the back of Talon, further damaging the back and neck of The Hunter. Talon falls back into the ring, and Nick is fast to make the cover, only getting a short two as Talon literally throws James off of him. Nick gets to his feet, standing near the ropes in the corner as Talon starts to stand. As he gets to his knees, Nick bounces off of the bottom rope on one side, springs to the middle rope on the adjacent side, and lands a bulldog on the rising Talon as the crowd comes alive with that move. Jake Steel: The kid's giving me motion sickness. Does he ever stop? Caelan Tyler: Against opponents that outweigh him by that much, Jake, this is about the best strategy he has. James looks for a cover, but Talon is already getting back on his feet, only slightly stunned from the move. Thinking quick, Nick reaches over and tags X-T back into the match. X-Terminator takes stock of the situation, and motions to Nick as he gets onto all fours near their corner. Without a pause, Nick charges and hops onto X-T's back, using that as a springboard to leap to the top rope before flying off, a moonsault press sending Talon back to the mat as Nick rolls out of the ring. X-T is quick to scramble into a cover, only netting two as Talon gets a shoulder up. Caelan Tyler: Nick with the triple jump moonsault, but it's not enough to keep Talon down. Jake Steel: Nothing short of a tank will do the job, I think. X-Terminator seems to be in control as his team has been hitting on all cylinders during the match. However, a shot to the throat stops that as Talon staggers back and makes a tag to Jackrabbit. The fresh man comes in, a clothesline dropping X-T to the mat. Talon slumps on the apron to attempt to recover, but he doesn't get much of a reprieve as Nick James comes around the ring and yanks on an ankle, sending Talon to the floor after his head bounces off the apron. The referee is too involved with the in-ring action to notice the shenanigans on the outside, as Jackrabbit takes down the Legacy champion with a hard clothesline. Back outside, Nick plows into Talon, sending the steel steps flying as The Hunter's back collides with the steps. The corner of the audience closest to this erupts into cheers, as they try to chant a name that is blocked by the NLW censors. The more astute lip-readers can understand what they are saying, though, as Nick smiles in glee. Jake Steel: Wait, are they allowed to say that in here? Caelan Tyler: You gonna tell them to stop? Jake Steel: ... Caelan Tyler: Thought not. Back inside the ring, Jackrabbit is in control of X-Terminator, drilling the Legacy Champion with a German suplex--no bridge, all impact. Getting up, 'Rabbit pulls X-T to his feet and delivers a hard DDT to really stun the Canadian. With a smile, Jackrabbit turns to his corner to presumably tag in his partner, only to find it empty and also to find his partner slumped on the floor, holding his back from the impact of the steel steps. 'Rabbit seems confused at this before turning back to X-T, looking to continue the high-impact offense. As the Tag Champ closes in, though, X-Terminator surprises him with a small package, as the ref slides in for the count. Only two is gotten, though, as 'Rabbit is able to get free. Caelan Tyler: I don't think the Legacy Champion was playing possum there, but he almost pulled the upset right then and there. Both legal men get back to their feet, and it's 'Rabbit with the advantage as he grabs the nose of X-Terminator and twists it before dropping the Legacy Champ with a chop. By this time, Talon has finally gotten back on the ring apron, and 'Rabbit wastes no time in tagging him into the contest. The larger of the Tag Champs comes in, and promptly hoists X-T into a press slam, holding him for about five seconds before sending X-T to the mat. Talon falls into a quick cover at this, but Nick comes in to break the pin up at two. Before the ref can even chastise him, Nick has bounced off the second rope and dropkicked Jackrabbit in the mush, sending him to the floor below! Only now does Nick return to his corner, mainly on threat of disqualification from the official. Caelan Tyler: James needs to watch his actions; he doesn't want to cost his team the match by being reckless. Jake Steel: That's all the kid knows, Caelan. He's like Phoenix; he'll find a way to lose the match! Back inside the ring, Talon has X-T on his feet, but a kick to the back of the leg stops Talon's momentum. A second follows to further stun the big man, and X-T scrambles to his corner to tag in James. Nick makes haste as he leaps to the top rope and flies off, striking the Tag Champ in the face with a spinning heel kick. Talon staggers a bit but refuses to fall, so Nick goes to the ropes once again, looking like a pinball as he springs off the strand and connects with a springboard tornado DDT that manages to take the champ down. Cover by James: 1... 2... Jackrabbit in to make the save, though it wasn't necessary as Talon got a shoulder up. As the ref turns to get 'Rabbit out of the ring, Nick again goes to the ropes, looking perhaps for a Lionsault, but instead lands on his feet as Talon was able to roll out of the way. Unperturbed, Nick goes low with a dropkick to the face of Talon before making another tag out. Caelan Tyler: Nick showing some good awareness to remain with the advantage there before tagging out. Jake Steel: Needs more abuse, dammit. X-Terminator re-enters the match and locks in a front chancery on Talon to further wear down the big man. With the referee otherwise distracted for checking to see if the hold is an illegal choke, Nick begins to circle the ring towards The Jackrabbit. The champ is ready for him, though, and tries to catch James with a clothesline. Nick's able to duck away from it, and 'Rabbit instead makes contact with the steel post. Back in the ring, Talon has gotten back to his feet and lifts X-T into the air before delivering a standing spinebuster to the Legacy champion. Cover by Talon: 1 2 Thre--no, X-Terminator just barely gets a foot on the ropes! Caelan Tyler: That was so close for the champions, and if that had gone through I assure you that Nick James would never have heard the end of it! Jake Steel: Who cares? I'm finally getting a bit of the abuse I was looking for! Oblivious to the commentators, Nick is still fighting with The Jackrabbit outside the ring. 'Rabbit charges in, but Nick is able to drop toe hold 'Rabbit into the security barrier, with his forehead impacting the corner of the barricade. It only takes but a second to see that Jackrabbit is busted open. Inside the ring, X-T is still in a bad way as Talon has him in a ground-and-pound situation, hammering away at the head of the Legacy Champion. Back outside, Jackrabbit is leaning up against the security barrier, in bad shape, but that doesn't stop Nick from just blasting 'Rabbit with a left hook, sending drops of blood into the front row ringside and even onto Jake Steel at the color commentator's position. As the fans go absolutely mental, Nick finally returns to his position on the apron, leaving the Tag Champ in a heap on the mats outside the ring. Jake Steel: The hell? I've got blood on me! Caelan Tyler: Shades of an alter ego there as Nick works the Splatter Zone to the crowd's delight! Jake Steel: Hmmm. Maybe I was wrong about the kid... Talon finally stops the beating and pulls X-T to his feet, no doubt looking for something else highly damaging. As he kicks the Legacy champion to double him over, it's obvious that he's looking for Bloody Talons. But as he jumps for the axe kick, X-T rises up, grabs Talon in mid-move, and unleashes a devastating capture suplex that leaves both men down! X-T is crawling towards his corner, where Nick is reaching for the tag. On the opposite side of the ring, Talon looks to where he expects Jackrabbit, only to find a vacant space. A look of confusion--or is it consternation?--crosses Talon's face as X-T makes the tag to Nick James, and the rookie leaps into the ring. Jake Steel: And now we see what Nick had in mind all along! It's become a two-on-one handicap match! Caelan Tyler: A bit unorthodox of a strategy, but it's been effective so far. Talon turns back around to face the impending threat, and eats a second-rope missile dropkick from Nick for his troubles. Talon drops to the mat, but James doesn't look for a cover, instead going to the apron while The Hunter is down and nailing a slingshot leg drop. Cover by Nick: 1... 2... Jackrabbit in to make the save, and does he look pissed! Jake Steel: I sense ABUSE in our future! Caelan Tyler: Oy... This brings X-Terminator back into the ring, and all hell breaks loose in the ring as the four duke it out. The Jackrabbit has recovered and has the advantage over Nick while Talon works X-T over in the opposite corner. With a whistle, Talon gets 'Rabbit's attention, and both Tag Champs whip their opponents into each other. However, X-T somehow stops and ducks down, back body dropping Nick into Talon. Nick lands in perfect position to spin to the side and take Talon down with a surprise head scissors. Jackrabbit charges towards X-T and lands a modified spear takedown, the blood smearing on X-Terminator's shirt as the two hit the mat. 'Rabbit falls into a cover: 1... 2... Thr--Nick with the double axe to the back of the head to break the cover! Caelan Tyler: I'm not sure that the Legacy Champion could have gotten out of that, but Nick made sure of it. Talon is still down in the corner as Nick watches 'Rabbit get to his feet, a gleam in his eye as he plans something. As the Tag Champ gets to one knee, James springs into action, charging in and destroying Jackrabbit with a shining wizard! 'Rabbit collapses to the mat, not moving, which prompts Talon to charge in. Instead of going for the cover, Nick leaps off the chest of Jackrabbit, getting enough height to get to the shoulders of Talon, and leaps straight up into the air. By some miracle (or just dumb luck), he manages to secure a fingertip grasp of the camera rigging, and hangs from it, not quite sure what he wants to do next. His impulsiveness is punished as Talon grabs the ankles of the youngster and yanks downwards. It's almost in slow motion as the rigging comes free, sending cables and a couple of spotlights down into the ring! Jake Steel: HOLY SHIT! Caelan Tyler: ... Jake Steel: This has made this night all worth it! Talon tries to get the hell out of the way, but is unable to as a glancing blow from a spotlight sends him to the mat. Once all of the falling objects have come to rest and the dust settles, the camera sees that Nick has an arm draped over Talon, and the referee slides in for the count: 1... 2... 3! The bell sounds as the fans leap to their feet, a 'Holy Shit' chant starting as NLW staff work to clear all of the debris from the ring. Zach King: Here are your winners, and the NEW NLW Tag Team Champions...X-Terminator and 'Untamed' Nick James...THE MOTHER CANUCKERS! The Mother CaNuckers are handed their newly won Tag Team Championships as the jumbotron fades out. Caelan Tyler: What a great match, it's a real shame that they had to break up the way they did. Jake Steel: It was necessary Cael.
Caelan Tyler: What do you mean it was 'necessary'? Jake Steel: Nick couldn't keep having X-T there holding his hands. Kid needed to spread his wings and fly. Caelan Tyler: Well I guess we'll find out later tonight just how much he's learned on his own. Now it's time for X-Terminator's match against Okuma! Lights go out as the crowd ohhhs and ahhs in anticipation. Evolution by Ayumi Hamasaki begins as a light show plays. Okuma followed by his ring entourage begins to run through the hallway and out to the entrance area. His (and the entourage's) run slows to a walk as the crowd cheers him down the entrance way. A spotlight flashes down on him and follows him all the way. The entourage follows behind Okuma as he jumps up onto the ring entrance and enters the ring going to a neutral corner. He then removes his bright purple ring robe and tosses it to a member of his entourage. His entourage, with the exception of his interpreter and manager Asuka, then walk back to the locker room area. Zach King: The following match is scheduled for one fall! Introducing first, from Osaka, Japan... Weighing in at 232 pounds... OKUMA! Caelan Tyler: Okuma's out here trying to avenge a less than stellar debut match last Uprising in the triple threat, going up against the man that cost him a shot at victory. Jake Steel: Psh, Nick James had that match in the bag anyways! California love! The lights fade and the crowd roars. Two narrow lights are shown glistening towards the front entrance. A large Explosion hits the top of the ramp leaving behind a large pool of smoke. As the smoke begins to dissipate, we see a shadow emerge from within. California...knows how to party Out from the smoke steps X-Terminator, looking very much in shape for his age. He slowly walks down the ramp, in one hand, a Singapore cane, in the other, a steel chair. The crowd boos the former legend as he makes his way to the ring. He stops at the top of the ring and stares towards his home away from home. X-T reaches under the ring before entering and pulls out a large blue cooler. He places it on the outside and opens the cooler. He pulls out a fresh cold beer and cracks it in front of the crowd waiting for the match to commence. With one rather large swig, the beer is guzzled and he slides back into the ring for his match. Zach King: And his opponent, from Toronto, Ontario, Canada... Weighing in at 232 pounds... X-TERMINATOR! Caelan Tyler: This'll be the first time we've seen X-T in action since he was attacked by Venom at Blackout. Jake Steel: Venom did he a solid by taking him out of that match, he shouldn't be showing his displeasure about it. The bell rings, and Okuma and X-Terminator immediately step to each other, meeting with a grapple in the middle of the ring. The two seem very evenly matched in terms of strength, but X-T quickly shifts the momentum in his direction with a knee to Okuma's midsection, before pummeling him down with double axehandles over Okuma's back. Caelan Tyler: This should be an interesting match-up here, the Osaka-born submission master against the sometimes unorthodox brawler. They're very evenly matched in size, though, so it'll be strict styles differences between them. Jake Steel: Come on, we all saw Okuma's debut match, so I don't have to tell you about his style. His matches are so boring that everyone in attendance passes out. It's a pretty effective talent, I remember cheering for Olivia at points for stomping his technical-shmechnical skills. Caelan Tyler: Okuma is a feared competitor back in his homeland, Jake, I'd watch your mouth before he has you in that deathlock. X-T continues striking at Okuma, but he stands too close, and the takedown master grabs hold of one of his legs, yanking him to the mat and quickly clinching him with a leg grapevine! The audience begins to politely clap at Okuma's takedown, but X-T quickly scrambles for the ropes, looking somewhat shocked at the speed with which Okuma dropped him. The referee motions for Okuma to break the hold, which he does, stepping back and letting X-Terminator get back to his feet. Jake Steel: Doesn't he know how to wrestle? You push the advantage, damn it! Don't ever let your opponent just catch a free breath! Caelan Tyler: Okuma's an honorable competitor, Jake. He'll beat his opponents fair and square. Jake Steel: Do they not have low blows, eye gouges, and hair pulling in Japan? Because you know, that stuff works. X-Terminator nods to Okuma, giving him a slight nod and a golf clap for his efforts. He shrugs as he gestures to himself, before stepping again to the middle of the ring, this time with an arm in the air, motioning for a test of strength. Okuma nods in understanding, and steps forward, raising his hand to meet X-T's. Sure enough, X-T promptly uses his free arm to bash his elbow right into the bridge of Okuma's nose! Okuma staggers back to his corner clutching his nose, which has begun bleeding at a slow drip. Caelan Tyler: There's the results of your proud style, Jake. You happy? Big bad X-T gives a foreigner a nosebleed? Jake Steel: More or less, yes. I wasn't liking X-T turning on Nick James last show, you know, that's two canucks, it's a 'west side boooooy' kind of thing, but Okuma? He's boring, and from far enough away that it doesn't matter to me. Caelan Tyler: You're an embarrassment, Jake. Okuma gestures to the referee, perhaps asking if that was a cheap shot, but X-Terminator immediately charges at him, looking to crush him against the corner turnbuckles! X-T comes up empty though as Okuma slips out of the corner and around X-T, yanking him to the mat with a waistlock takedown! He shifts around in front of him, clinching his arms around X-T's neck with a front headlock. X-T fights mightily, struggling for the ropes, but his strength is noticeably sapping quickly thanks to Okuma's headlock! X-T gets a last rush of energy, allowing him to tangle his legs in the ropes, which leads for the referee to call for Okuma to break the hold. Caelan Tyler: X-Terminator keeps using cheap tactics to put Okuma off guard, but he simply can't outwrestle him on the mat! Jake Steel: But really, when was the last time someone lost to a sleeper hold or a headlock? Come on now. X-T slowly rises, but this time Okuma isn't so willing to give him the benefit of the doubt! As soon as X-T gets to his feet, Okuma smashes him in the face with a palm strike, leaving X-T to clutch his face in pain, as Okuma wipes some blood from his own nose with some satisfaction. He goes to deliver another strike, but X-T backs up into the corner, and the referee moves to separate the two men. X-Terminator uses the break to reach right over the referee with a roundhouse punch that connects solidly with Okuma's temple, dropping him, stunned, to the mat! Jake Steel: So what if X-T can't outwrestle Okuma, he sure can outbrawl him! Caelan Tyler: That may be true. Okuma needs to stay on his technical game to dominate X-T, if he tries to fistfight, he might find himself on the wrong end of a loss to another Canadian. Jake Steel: I'm so torn on that. I'm still pissed off that X-T attacked Nick, but on the other hand Okuma is a proven cure for insomnia. X-T immediately shoves the referee out of the way, opportunistically throwing himself over Okuma for a cover! ...kickout, a moment before the two count! X-T seems unfazed by Okuma kicking out, instead mounting him and driving fist after fist into Okuma's head and face. He steps off of Okuma and lifts him to his feet and wipes one of his hands across the blood coming from Okuma's nose. X-T rears back and slaps the hell out of Okuma with the bloodied hand, leaving a gory handprint across Okuma's face as he stands, nearly stunned from X-T's onslaught! X-T hunches him with a kick to the abdomen, before locking him in a standing headscissors, and then spiking him to the mat with a piledriver! Caelan Tyler: It looks like this is finally turning into X-T's match now! Jake Steel: That's for sure. It's a good try on Okuma's part, that's true, but come on, waistlocks don't hurt. Piledrivers and punches do. X-T goes for a cover! 1... 2... ...X-T looks to the referee incredulously, but the referee stops the count as Okuma's leg is now laying across the bottom rope! X-T kicks Okuma's leg off of the bottom rope and goes to cover him again! 1... 2... ...Kickout! Okuma breaks X-T's cover with a palm strike to the face, and then slips out from beneath him, clamping on a seated armbar on X-T before he can move further away! X-T howls in pain and disbelief as he rises, Okuma still tenuously hanging on all the while! X-T tries a few futile strikes, before lunging for the ropes, which he luckily comes across. Caelan Tyler: Whoa, again Okuma levels the playing field with a few deft maneuvers! Jake Steel: Just a temporary setback for X-T I'm sure, Okuma's still got to be feeling the effects of that piledriver and punches earlier. Caelan Tyler: I think he's a lot hardier than people are giving him credit for, he's not reeling yet, Jake. Okuma yanks X-T away from the ropes and into the middle of the ring, but releases the armbar, instead beating X-T down with elbow and forearm strikes, before grabbing his legs, and attempting to lock in the dreaded Osaka Deathlock! X-T suddenly fights back frantically, apparently having done enough scouting to know the severity of his current predicament! Okuma crosses his legs, and looks to turn him over! X-T struggles, throwing his weight around fitfully, but successfully getting closer to the ropes on one side! He finally kicks a leg free, and uses it to shove Okuma off! Jake Steel: Close call X-T, stop goofing around now and finish this. Caelan Tyler: That wasn't very good for X-T at all, rumor has it that no one's ever broken the Osaka Deathlock. You can find the ropes if you're lucky...but if you're in the middle of the ring, they say it's a done deal. Jake Steel: Shouldn't it be illegal or something, then? Caelan Tyler: Why? Because X-T might get a boo boo after drawing blood from Okuma already? Okuma goes right back on the offensive, barely giving X-Terminator a breather even as he's leaning on the ropes. X-T throws a kick, trying to ward Okuma off, but Okuma catches his foot! Okuma spins him to the mat with a dragon screw, and without even releasing his grip on X-T's ankle, he's right back to his feet, and flips over X-T, snapping his leg as he does, leaving X-T howling in pain! Caelan Tyler: Ouch, it looks like Okuma's not going to be letting X-T kick away from the Deathlock next time around. Jake Steel: X-T will figure something out. He's a tough mofo. Caelan Tyler: And...wait, what? A tough...? Jake Steel: You heard me. I went there. Caelan Tyler: You're going to get in trouble Jake, management wants us to cut back on profanity... Jake Steel: I'm not gonna let the man hold me down! Okuma finally gives X-T an apparent breather, as X-T gets to his feet slowly, favoring the leg targeted by Okuma. Unfortunately for him, Okuma stalks him all the while like a methodical predator. The moment X-T puts some weight on that leg, Okuma quickly dives at him from behind, knocking the leg out from under him with a chop block! X-T rolls out of the ring and staggers around the ringside, wincing in pain all the while. The referee shouts for him to get back in the ring, but he waves him off, and begins heading around toward the entrance ramp! Caelan Tyler: What's this? X-T beating a not-so-hasty retreat? Jake Steel: He probably figures that if Okuma's going to be cheap and boring and try to illegally end his career, the least he can do is walk out on him. Caelan Tyler: Yeah, it's just like that, I'm sure. X-Terminator begins heading up the ramp, ignoring the jeers of the fans as he's apparently ready to concede the match via countout to Okuma! Okuma won't have anything of it, though, and slides out of the ring, intercepting X-T on the ramp! X-T turns a moment before contact, only to be lifted right off of his feet and smashed to the ramp metal with a spinebuster from Okuma! Okuma then yanks him roughly to his feet and tosses him back into the ring! He grabs X-T's legs, looking for the Deathlock again! X-T reaches up though, and quickly counters, rolling Okuma up! 1... 2... Kickout! Okuma breaks X-T grip at the last second! Caelan Tyler: That's some tenacity on the part of X-T, I thought he was finished! He's still in a good bit of trouble, though! Jake Steel: It's nothing a little bit of X-Rated won't solve! Caelan Tyler: But how do you lift someone up for a crucifix powerbomb when your legs and possibly your back are shot for the night? Okuma renders the question moot by quickly lifting X-T to his feet and lifting him for a backbreaker right across his knee! A smile creeps across his face from the positive crowd reaction, and he lifts X-T back up, and drops him back-first across his knee again! And a third time! Jake Steel: You want to talk about legal and illegal? Why isn't that illegal?! Caelan Tyler: That's perfectly legit, Jake. X-T's fought off the Deathlock a few times now, and Okuma's now dissecting him, making sure he has nothing left to counter it. Okuma shifts X-T's weight, and lifts him up in a vertical suplex position, stalling him upside-down in the air for over ten seconds! After what seems like an eternity, he brings X-T down, right across his knee! X-T's grimacing in pain, to the point where the referee is asking him if he wants to quit! Caelan Tyler: I don't think X-T's going to make it that easy on Okuma, but I can't see this lasting much longer... Jake Steel: Come on, X-T, it can't end like this! Okuma steps away from X-T, motioning to the crowd for the end, before grabbing X-T by the legs and quickly clamping on the Osaka Deathlock in the middle of the ring! Caelan Tyler: This is it, Jake! Look and how he's arching back, making sure to torque X-T's legs, back, even his neck some? I can't see an escape for X-T now! Jake Steel: I can't look! X-T fights as best he can, but he's got no traction at all on Okuma's position. He swings back and forth, but he can't reach anything but Okuma's boots, and even then he's still got no leverage. He pushes against the mat, trying to elevate himself off of it, but he's fighting directly into the weight of Okuma stretching his battered muscles! He gets his arms straight, relieving some pressure on his neck, but at the expense of his back and legs! Okuma sits back hard, as X-T bellows in pain, before collapsing to the mat and losing any leverage at all! He taps, finally slapping his arm weakly against the mat! Caelan Tyler: And Okuma picks up his first win in NLW! I told you the Osaka Deathlock is unbreakable! Jake Steel: BOO! They need to outlaw unbreakable and unfathomably boring holds like that! Caelan Tyler: *Sighs* Zach King: Here is your winner... OKUMA! Okuma releases the hold as the referee raises his arm in victory! He slides out of the ring, triumphantly making his way up the entrance ramp, while the referee tends to X-T, who finally, painfully, sits up in the corner of the ring, clutching his back and grimacing. Okuma gives the crowd and X-Terminator a final look and a hand held high before stepping backstage. Caelan Tyler: That was a pretty close match though. Jake Steel: If by close you mean boring then I agree.
Caelan Tyler: Um, you know that's not at all what I mean Jake. Jake Steel: Psh! Voice: Hi, fellas. A visible shudder comes from both commentators, as they turn their attention to the audience just a guardrail away, where a towering, half-seated meathead smiles at the two of them. Jake Steel: Who the hell are you? The fan drops his smile for a moment, reflecting on his rudeness and making amends at the two slighted professional talkers. Large Fan: Oh, sorry. I'm Troy Munday. Pleased to meet you. He extends a hand towards the two, getting stares in return. Jake Steel: And we care because...? Dropping the smile for a moment, Troy struggles to come up with an answer. Troy Munday: Because I'm NLW's newest superstar. I mean, I was when I signed my contract. Mr. Mobely might've signed someone since he signed me, though. Guess I should do more fact checking before I do a promo. Caelan Tyler: This is a promo? Troy Munday: Isn't it? Jake Steel: It isn't. Shrugging, Troy continues his 'promo.' Troy Munday: I just wanted to get off on the right foot and introduce myself to all the fans watching at home. I introduced myself to a bunch of fans in the arena and most of them were pretty nice, especially the guy who gave me this seat. I think he's coming back soon, though, which is good because I'm kind of tall and when I talk to you guys, some of the people behind me probably can't see the ring that well. Tyler and Steel exchange glances. Caelan Tyler: Yeah, you're a big one. Jake Steel: And a natural commentator. Troy Munday: Aw, thanks. You guys are doing a real good job, though. I feel really comfortable right now. The smile returns for Munday, illiciting a frown from Steel. Jake Steel: Glad somebody does. Clapping his hands together, Tyler takes advantage of the awkward pause in hopes of diffusing the situation. Caelan Tyler: Well, Troy, it was nice meeting you. Thanks for stopping by. We'll be sure to keep an eye out for you Jake Steel: Thank God for security. As he gets to his feet, Troy points to the camera, giving the commentators and the fans at home one last message. Troy Munday: Gotta go. Troy Munday will see YOU next Uprising, NLW! Jake Steel: Just go straight for the tazer, guys. Backed by the angry fan, the security guard begins his impromptu interrogation, as Munday frantically tries to offer the empty seat back. Troy Munday: Officer, I promise you this is just a misunderstanding... Caelan Tyler: Wow. Jake Steel: What a maroon.
Caelan Tyler: I do feel kind of bad if he's actually a new NLW competitor though... Jake Steel: I don't! Caelan Tyler: That's because you were born without a soul Jake, Jake Steel: Nah, I sold it for an Almond Joy and half a Twix. Best deal I ever made! 'Fireproof” begins to play as Kevin Heat walks onto the stage, pauses, then takes a dead run to the ring. He slides into under the ropes, the crowd watches as he stands on the turnbuckle, getting a big pop from the fans. Zach King: The following match is a non-title match and it's scheduled for one fall! Introducing first, from Baltimore, Maryland... Weighing in at 228 pounds... KEVIN HEAT! Caelan Tyler: After the travesty of justice that occurred last week, folks, Kevin Heat made sure that the referee in charge of his last match was not working this one. Jake Steel: Why? So he can find a different excuse when he loses? The lights go black as a deep, eerie growl is heard over the PA. Immediately we hear dirty, distorted guitars come in before being followed by the drums kicking in. The second verse of 'Motel of the White Locust' by Glassjaw hits the PA System. Though I like your pretty eyes better blackened, After the chorus, we see Jesse Williams walk out from the back- with the NLW World Heavyweight Championship draped over his right shoulder, and the OWF World Heavyweight Championship strapped around his waist. The lights come back up to a normal setting, shining upon the entire arena. He takes his time walking towards the ring, making sure to take in all his surroundings. The fans boo him mercilessly as he walks down the ramp, keeping his eyes set on the ring. He gets to the bottom of the ramp and stops as the music starts to kick back in. Wipe off your mouth! He slides into the ring, directly under the bottom rope, immediately holding his arms up high. The fans keep on him, letting him know exactly how much they hate him. He walks to the side of the ring closest to the cameras. He backs into his corner, with a wide smile upon his face. Followed by a boy like this, The song ends abruptly and Williams begins to stretch his upper body, using the ropes to get himself prepared. The referee approaches him and Jesse hands him the NLW Title first -- then unstraps the OWF Championship from around his waist. He also hands the belt to the referee, who moves to the center of the ring and holds up both belts high above his head. Zach King: And his opponent, from Las Vegas, Nevada... Weighing in at 235 pounds... He is the reigning NLW and OWF World Heavyweight Champion... JESSE WILLIAMS! Caelan Tyler: I'm not going to lie to you, folks: I don't like the way he put the former Legacy and OWF PDA Champion on the shelf for the foreseeable future, especially with his callous attitude, but he is a double world champion for a reason. Jake Steel: ...Yeah, I'll give you that. Caelan Tyler: The reigning NLW champion is definitely looking to quickly re-assert himself atop the food chain at Kevin Heat's expense! Jake Steel: It'd work a lot better if Kevin Heat wasn't setting the 'has been' world afire. With Kevin Heat favoring his jaw, Jesse Williams kicks off the corner turnbuckles for momentum, and catches Heat on his shoulder in the middle of the ring. Driving all the way across, he smashed Heat into the opposite turnbuckle with such impact that the entire audience gasps and ooh's. Williams gives him no respite, however, immediately turning Heat around, cinching him with a waistlock, and flinging him back toward the center of the ring with a release German suplex! Caelan Tyler: What a barrage! Could there be an early end for Kevin Heat tonight? Jake Steel: If you can't fake the Heat, get out of the kitchen! Caelan Tyler: What does that even mean?! Jake Steel: It's a pun, sort of. Caelan Tyler: But it doesn't even...never mind... Williams throws himself over Heat for a cover, and hooks the leg! 1... 2... Kickout! Kevin Heat stays alive by getting a shoulder up, as the crowd goes wild, desperately trying to get some momentum going for their favorite. Unfortunately for them, Jesse Williams refuses to relent, grabbing one of Heat's legs to keep him in place, while decimating him with stomp after stomp to the midsection. Jake Steel: Stomp him like a trespassing ant! Break his soul! Caelan Tyler: They're stomps, Jake. I mean...yeah, they're good stomps, but really? Are we going a little overboard? Jake Steel: Not when it's the NLW Champion making like a daytrader in dealing ABUSE~! Jesse Williams tires of stomping Kevin Heat down, and yanks him to his knees, only to clamp a side headlock on him, and driving fist after fist into Heat's head with his free hand. He ceases the punches, using both arms to put as much pressure as possible into the hold. Heat finally gains his footing, though, and shifts Williams off balance, landing his first offensive maneuver of the night as he counters the hold into a back side suplex, as the crowd erupts! Jake Steel: Look at this, Kevin Heat gets one move in and his fan base acts like he won Williams' title. Caelan Tyler: Wouldn't he earn a shot at it if he beats Williams tonight? Jake Steel: No, no he wouldn't. Not if I were in charge, anyway. Heat is still reeling from Williams' beatdown, and he's actually on his feet shortly after the champ, who locks him up from behind and flattens him to the mat with a diving reverse DDT! Williams slides over Heat, going for another cover! 1... 2... Kickout! Williams shakes his head in frustration, before covering Heat again, this time hooking both of Heat's legs! 1... 2... Another kickout, just barely! Jake Steel: I'm actually glad about that. Caelan Tyler: I thought you didn't like Kevin Heat? Jake Steel: No, I don't. But if he lost right there, we wouldn't get to see Jesse Williams continue to beat him like a red-headed stepchild. And boy if I don't like gingers. Williams sits up after Heat kicks out, shaking his head, but determination replacing frustration on his expression. He pulls Kevin Heat to his feet and lifts him up for a vertical suplex, perhaps to lead into one of his J-Dubz Driver variants! Heat floats over and through, and strikes Williams with several clubbing forearms to the back! Williams staggers to the center of the ring as Heat leaps toward the ropes, and on the return drops Williams to the mat with a flying crossbody! The crowd is finally growing loud with Heat's offense, and when him and Williams get back to their feet, Heat whips him to the ropes, and follows with a clothesline that sends both men over the top rope and outside the ring! Caelan Tyler: Heat definitely taking the momentum completely away from Jesse Williams there...and with Heat's high flying arsenal, he's doubly dangerous outside the ring! Jake Steel: His super-duper arsenal didn't do jack against 'The Future' Ethan Dashery...what makes you think it would work any better against the current NLW champ? Caelan Tyler: Hey now, that loss to Dashery is easily one of the shadier match outcomes I've seen in a long time, with blatantly biased officiating. Jake Steel: A win is a win...is a win is a win. Caelan Tyler: Clearly one of your deeper moments, there. Kevin Heat lands outside on his feet, as Jesse Williams tumbles awkwardly to the arena floor. As Williams is staggered, Heat hops back onto the apron, then the second rope, and then soars backward onto Williams with a triple-jump moonsault! The referee is counting them for being outside, and with only a two count, Heat methodically helps Williams to his feet, before whipping him into the ring steps! Williams crashes into the steps back-first, grimacing in pain! Jake Steel: That's definitely abuse...but it's also being dished out by Kevin Heat. I don't know whether to cheer or boo! Caelan Tyler: You poor thing. I can see the blue screen of death in your eyes already. Heat looks to possibly put Williams away for good, as he charges at him with a high knee strike! Williams somehow gains the energy to step forward at the last moment and duck, launching Heat over his head and the steps, sending him crashing into the guardrail a few feet behind him! Caelan Tyler: What elevation on the counter there, Kevin Heat might be knocked out! Jake Steel: Phew, my crisis is solved. There's abuse I can be proud of. Jesse Williams rolls into the ring, clutching his back and sitting in the corner, catching his breath, while the referee continues to count on Heat. Heat stirs soon, though, and much to Williams' disbelief and frustration, slides in around the eight count! He steps over to Heat, looking to pummel him with punches and kicks, but Heat blocks his first punch and fires back with one of his own! And another! The crowd comes alive again as Heat rocks Williams back into the center of the ring under a barrage of punches! Williams finally breaks the streak with a hard knee to Heat's abdomen, before sending him flopping on the mat after delivering a dropkick to the side of Heat's head. Caelan Tyler: Right now Jesse's back in control, but for how long? This match seems a constant back and forth! Jake Steel: It only seems that way. Once Williams finishes off Heat, it'll be remembered as a completely one sided encounter where our champion re-established himself as the premier talent in NLW. Caelan Tyler: I'd like to know what match the voices in your head are seeing. With an impressive display of strength, Jesse Williams hefts Kevin Heat right off the mat, and drops him right back down, waist-first over his knee. Williams appears to contemplate a cover, before deciding against and whipping Heat to the corner, immediately following with a spear! Heat gets his legs up though, and locks them around Williams' arms, rolling him back over for a cover! 1... 2... Kickout! Caelan Tyler: Whoa, Jake, your champ almost got surprised there. Jake Steel: Jesse Williams does not get pinned by roll ups, Cael. Don't be a fool. Williams' kickout sent Heat back into the opposite corner, and as Williams rises, he charges again, this time connecting with Kevin Heat's ribs with a massive spear! Wasting no time, he hefts Heat up onto the second rope, and looks to be setting up for a top rope hurracanrana! He leaps, clinches, and flings himself backward, sending Kevin Heat head over heels into the ring! Jake Steel: Break his neck like you did Phoenix's! Wait...what?! 1... 2... ... Jake Steel: KICKOUT! For all that is holy, Jesse, stop scaring me like that! Jake Steel: Um...nah, Williams has this match still. He likes to wait on kickouts for dramatic effect, really get into his opponents' heads. Caelan Tyler: Sure it is, Jake... Heat and Williams are both quickly to their feet, but Heat immediately puts Williams right back in his place with the Heartburn superkick! Taking a moment to get the crowd completely on their feet, he climbs to the top rope in one of the corners...and leaps off with Flame-Broiled! No connection! Jesse Williams somehow pulls himself out of the proverbial kitchen, rolling out of the way and tumbling out of the ring, as Heat flapjacks himself onto the mat with nothing to show for it! Caelan Tyler: Heat goes to put Williams away but comes up empty! High risk, no reward! Jake Steel: This has to be near the end for Heat. He'll have nothing left after that. Caelan Tyler: Perhaps that would be the case in other situations, but last I checked Jesse Williams is still crawling around outside the ring, catching his wind after that vicious superkick from Heat. He's in no position to capitalize! The referee begins counting for both competitors, Heat for being on the mat, and Williams for being outside the ring. By the four count, the tenacious Williams crawls back into the ring, and slides across Kevin Heat for a cover! 1... 2... Heat gets a shoulder up at the two and a half mark! Jesse Williams is left again shaking his head, as he gets to his feet, and as Heat rises, Williams clamps him in a headlock, perhaps setting up to again attempt a J-Dubz Driver? He goes to lift Heat, but Kevin locks his leg with one of Jesse's, preventing the lift! Heat breaks Jesse's grip, and grabs him by the head instead and drops to a knee, banging Williams' face against his knee! Williams staggers back, as Heat bounces to the ropes, but Williams drives him to the mat with a powerslam on the return! Caelan Tyler: Williams showing off his versatility in this match, playing the power game as well as brawling and a little bit of high flying as well. If Williams wins, that extra dimension he brings over Heat might be the cause right there. Jake Steel: You're overanalyzing. Williams has nearly patented the trademark ability to whoop ass under almost any circumstances. Caelan Tyler: Can you get your head any farther up Jesse's ass, Jake? Williams yanks Heat back to his feet, clinching him in a Northern Lights suplex position, now apparently going for the second variant on his trademark driver! He flips Heat back...but Heat again escapes, slipping Williams grip and landing behind him instead! Williams expression grows very frustrated, as gives up on any subtlety, simply spinning to crush Heat to the mat with a turnstile lariat! He immediately stomps Heat several times, before grabbing him by the legs, and positioning his neck and shoulders right under the bottom rope. He leans back hard, slingshotting Heat right up into the bottom rope! Heat tumbles from the ring, clutching his throat in agony! Jake Steel: A great man once said 'You can't wrestle without oxygen.' Caelan Tyler: Really? Who? Jake Steel: Umm...not really sure. I just figured it'd make me sound more educated. With Kevin Heat stumbling around outside, holding onto his throat, Jesse Williams slides to the outside, grabbing Heat and sliding him back into the ring. Dragging Heat to his feet, Jesse looks to hook him for a suplex before Heat catches him with an elbow! The two men immediately start to exchange jabs as the lights suddenly go out in the arena! The lights remain off for a moment as the murmuring of the crowd can be heard... Suddenly, the lights turn back on, and both Jesse Williams and Kevin Heat are laid out on the mat, and standing above them brandishing a chair is Josh Allen! Caelan Tyler: It's Josh Allen! JA is back! Jake Steel: WHAT?! NOOOOOOOO! Immediately upon seeing what happened while the lights were out the referee calls for the bell. Zach King: The referee has ruled this match a NO CONTEST! Josh Allen motions for a microphone as the referee checks on the two fallen men in the ring. Caelan Tyler: This is unbelievable Jake!
Jake Steel: More like a total nightmare... Josh Allen: So did you miss me NLW? A mixture of cheers and jeers rains down as Josh Allen smirks in the middle of the ring. Josh Allen: I must say I'm damn disappointed. I bust my ass to make the NLW Championship relevant again, only to find out in my absence that this piece of trash had gotten his grubby little hands on MY title. A 'Williams sucks!' chant breaks out amongst the crowd. Josh Allen: This isn't something I'm going to stand for. Jesse, consider yourself on notice. I'm taking back what's rightfully mine, and there's not a damn thing you can do about it. The fans cheer as Josh throws down the chair. Josh Allen: Oh yeah, and before I forget... FUCK THE FANS! Any good will built up by this assault for Josh Allen is immediately lost as 'Riot' starts to play, with Josh exiting down the ramp. Caelan Tyler: I didn't even realize Josh Allen was medically cleared to wrestle! Jake Steel: Well he's definitely medically cleared to suck, that's for sure.
Caelan Tyler: I never understood your problems with JA Jake. Jake Steel: You like him. Period. Both Jesse Williams and Kevin Heat are helped to the back as stagehands bring out and station a variety of tables, trash cans, chairs, and other items around ringside for the main event. Caelan Tyler: Well regardless of how you feel about JA Jake, it's been a big night tonight, and we're about to get started on the main event. Jake Steel: WHOOO~! Now this is what I came to see! The arena lights shift to differing shades of red, as spotlights focus on at the top of the entrance ramp, while 'Debonaire' by Dope begins playing. As the heavier guitars come in, Ethan Dashery steps onto the stage, holding his hands in the air, as if gesturing for the whole world to check him out. He saunters down the entrance ramp, sneering at the audience and trading insults with nearby fans. Reaching the ringside area, he charges onto the ring apron near one of the corners, before vaulting over the top rope and into the ring, landing on the adjacent second rope, where he takes a few final pot shots at the fans, and spits at them, before hopping off the ropes. The music fades and the lights return to normal, as Dashery leans cockily in his corner, waiting for the match to start. Zach King: The following match is our main event and it's a non-title Anything Goes match that's scheduled for one fall! Making his way to the ring first, from Warwick, Rhode Island... Weighing in at 195 pounds... ETHAN DASHERY! Caelan Tyler: Ethan Dashery looks pretty proud of himself after his showing last Uprising, where he scored a tainted victory over a NLW legend in Kevin Heat. Jake Steel: Tainted? Psh, maybe to you, but to me it was a good old fashioned asswhooping! Caelan Tyler: Hence why I don't care about your opinion Jake. Flickering red and purple stage lights strobe over the dimmed entrance and the upbeat tempo of Angry Young Man by Billy Joel slams out through the arena. The curtains burst open with flourish and James pauses on the stage, looking down to peer out at the crowd over top his sunglasses, with both the Legacy and NLW Tag Team championships strapped around his mid-section. Soaking in their cheers for a moment, James brushes them off, marching toward the ring while he wraps white tape around his wrists. James leaps from the floor to the apron without even taking a running start, then hooks an arm over the middle rope and rolls through into the ring, throwing his arms out to the sides and spinning in a circle as he enjoys the spotlight. He then eyes Dashery as he unhooks the belts from around his waist and hands them to the referee. Zach King: And his opponent, from Brantford, Ontario, Canada... Weighing in at 171 pounds... He is the one half of the NLW Tag Team champions as well as the Legacy champion... 'UNTAMED' NICK JAMES! Caelan Tyler: Nick James is also coming into this match with a victory, continuing the momentum he had going before NLW's brief hiatus, a period of time where he was perhaps the hottest competitor in the NLW. Jake Steel: The kid's got skills. Caelan Tyler: That he does, not to mention the pedigree he's got that should benefit him for this kind of a match-up. His father is the man responsible for one of the most violent and out of control promotions in the history of this business, and a well-known hardcore combatant in his own right. Jake Steel: Hardcore is in Nick's blood, but don't sell Dashery short either, he's got that fancy blueblood pumping in his veins. Caelan Tyler: ...Yeah... Fancy... The bell rings, and Dashery wastes no time, immediately catching Nick with a rake of the eyes. The crowd boos the use of such cheap tactics right off the bat but Dashery doesn't care, quickly connecting with a series of European uppercuts before grabbing Nick's arm and bringing him down with a short-arm clothesline. Dashery then picks Nick up off of the mat, lifting him into the air and positioning him for a shoulderbreaker. By this point Nick's vision has cleared, and seeing the predicament he's found himself in he goes up and over. Dashery turns around, only to catch a sharp knife-edge chop to the chest for his trouble. Nick then grabs Dashery and Irish whips him to the ropes, bouncing off of the ropes himself and catching Dashery with a dropkick as the Rhode Islander Blueblood rebounds back. Caelan Tyler: Dashery tried to take control early with that cheap eyerake, but it doesn't seem to have helped his cause in the least. Jake Steel: Cheap? Come on now Cael, this is an anything goes match, there's no such thing as a cheap shot. Dashery immediately rolls out of the ring, shaking his head and clearing his head as the fans boo his decision to bail. Nick slides out of the ring after him, leading Dashery to... um... dash around the ring, with Nick in hot pursuit. Dashery quickly grabs a trash can, lifting it up to make use of the weapon. Nick telegraphs the move however, charging forward with a side kick that catches the trash can and bounces it back into Dashery's face! The crowd gives its approval as Nick grabs one of the tables at ringside and lifts it onto the apron, sliding it in. The Legacy Champion then rolls Dashery back into the ring, stomping him before grabbing the table and flipping it over to prop up the legs. Dashery comes to his senses and quickly hits James in the back of the head with a clubbing blow, and as Nick spins around Dashery kicks him in the gut before delivering a spiking DDT to the mat! Caelan Tyler: It looks like Dashery is finally recovering from having his bell rung by that trash can. Jake Steel: Well hopefully Dashery doesn't let his inexperience in this sort of match get the better of him, he just has to rely on the super powers he gets from his blood in order to win the day. Caelan Tyler: ...Super powers? Jake Steel: Yeah, isn't blueblood radioactive or something like that? I mean, the guy does fly all over the place. Caelan Tyler: Not that I'm aware of Jake. Jake Steel: Bah, I think you're just misinformed! Super powers or not, Dashery looks to finish the job Nick started, lifting up the table and leaning it up against one of the ring posts. As Nick starts to get to his feet Dashery kicks him off with a running leg lariat, taunting the fans a bit as he lifts Nick back up, this time delivering a shoulderbreaker. With Nick down, Dashery rolls out of the ring, grabbing another trash can and throwing it into the squared circle. Sliding back in, Dashery drags Nick into a different corner, stomping him a bit before setting the trash can on top of Nick's limp form. Ethan then makes his way to the other side of the ring, taunting the fans some more before climbing to the top rope and measuring the distance. Dashery makes his leap, looking to use a missile dropkick to drive the trash can into Nick's face and returning the favor from earlier. Dashery's showboating took too long though, and Nick manages to bail from the ring, leaving Dashery to slam to the mat. Caelan Tyler: High risk move by Dashery backfires here, and now he's left laid out on the mat. Jake Steel: Alright, now it's time to see what kind of abuse Nick had in mind with that table! Caelan Tyler: What do you think he's going to try to do Jake? Jake Steel: Something awesome! Quickly re-entering the ring, Nick pulls Dashery to his feet before delivering an inverted atomic drop, with his aim intentionally off from the normal tailbone contact point! With Dashery down, Nick re-adjusts the table in the corner before lifting Dashery back up, hiptossing him into position on the table, leaving him lying inverted on top of it. Nick then goes to the opposite side of the ring, charging the corner before taking to the air, flipping over and putting both Dashery and himself through the wood with a senton splash! Nick's Splatter Zone immediately gets to its feet, cheering Nick on as both men lay down and out. Caelan Tyler: Nick proving that he is a 'hardcore prodigy' with that move! Jake Steel: Yes! I told you he had some abuse in mind! Caelan Tyler: That he did. Jake Steel: There's only one place for the Abuse-O-Meter to go from here Cael, and that's up! After a few moments, Nick has come to enough to drag Dashery out of the splintered wreckage and go for a pin attempt: 1... 2... No, kickout at 2! Shaking his head, Nick rolls Dashery out of the ring, taking a moment to clear a few of his own cobwebs before whipping Dashery into the guardrail in front of Nick's Splatter Zone. The Zone cheers as Dashery's back impacts the rail hard, and cheers even louder when Nick motions that he's going to charge the down and out blueblood. Nick barrels down the aisle towards Dashery, who manages to regain his sense enough to score a back body drop, sending Nick flying into a cluster of his own fans! Caelan Tyler: Whoa! The Splatter Zone has incoming! Jake Steel: Well, at least Nick can look at the bright side, his fans broke his fall for once! Caelan Tyler: As opposed to what? Jake Steel: His own spine. Several fans were knocked out of the way by James' flailing form, and security quickly moves in to push other fans back to give Nick some breathing room. Dashery takes advantage to catch his own breath before following Nick into the crowd, peppering the Legacy Champion with rights as he does so. Dashery then reaches into his wrestling trunks, taunting Nick to get to his feet. Nick does, and Dashery catches him with a spinning European uppercut, this one dropping Nick like a bad habit. The fans nearby boo immediately and it soon becomes clear that Dashery had slipped on a pair of brass knuckles when he reached into his trunks! Smiling to himself, Dashery grabs Nick, looking to drag him back into the ring for the easy cover. Unfortunately for Dashery, he miscalculated and quickly realizes that it's harder than it looks to move that kind of dead weight. Caelan Tyler: Dashery caught Nick with those brass knuckles, but it looks like he's realizing the folly of his timing. Jake Steel: What folly? Nick looks like he's done for. Caelan Tyler: This is an Anything Goes match, but it's not Fall Count Anywhere. He has to get Nick back into the ring if he's going to get a pin! Jake Steel: ...Okay yeah, that is a bit of a folly. Put some elbow grease into it Ethan! Use those blueblood muscles! Dashery does just that, pulling Nick up and dragging him slowly to the guard rail, where he rolls him over the top of it. When Nick hits the protective mats on the other side, a stream of blood can be spotted running from right about his eyebrow, which is where Dashery caught him with the knucks. Shaking his head, Dashery rolls Nick into the ring, finally going for the pin: 1... 2... No, Nick's foot ended up on the bottom rope in Dashery's haste to get the pin! Seething in anger at this, Dashery drags Nick into the middle of the ring before going for another pin: 1... 2... This time Nick manages to get his shoulder up just in time! Caelan Tyler: Well, looks like Dashery's plan backfired there, and twice he couldn't get the pin, and now Nick's coherent enough to kick out. Jake Steel: Maybe, maybe not, he must've done some damage with that blow, look at the juice! Look at the juice is right, as blood is really starting to pour out from Nick's wound now. Dashery pulls Nick to his feet, skiping towards him, aiming a superkick at his head. Dashery pulls up at the last minute, narrowly missing Nick as he overshoots them, but quickly corrects, surprising catching from the opposite side with a superkick to the back of the head! Dashery again goes for a pin: 1... 2... Kickout again! Dashery slams his fist against the mat before berating the referee about the speed of his count. Dashery then slides out of the ring, grabbing one of the tables and propping it against the guard rail before lifting up the side nearest the ring and sliding it under the bottom rope, forming a 'bridge'. Dashery then rolls back into the ring, where Nick is struggling to get to his feet. Dashery goes for a right, but Nick cuts him off with one of his own! Caelan Tyler: The light's coming back on for Nick, hopefully he can make a comeback here, although he's already taken a large amount of punishment from Ethan Dashery. Jake Steel: I have no complaints, so long as they keep handing out the abuse to each other. Caelan Tyler: You gotta give these two men credit. Neither is anywhere near being the biggest on the roster, but they are showing a lot of heart here in a rather brutal bout. Jake Steel: Hearts are worthless, except for pumping blood through the cuts on their heads! Caelan Tyler: ...Something's just not right about you Jake. Jake Steel: That's not what your mom... Caelan Tyler: Shut. Up. The two high flyers exchange punches, with Dashery slowly backing Nick up against the ropes on the side facing the entrance ramp. Dashery then goes for a clothesline, but Nick manages to catch him with a back body drop, sending him over the ropes! Dashery manages to twist his body in mid-air, landing on his feet on the apron! Nick turns around, catching Dashery by driving a shoulder into his gut between the middle and top rope. Nick then grabs Dashery's head, dropping to the mat and bringing the blueblood's neck down across the top rope! Dashery immediately flies backwards, slamming hard back-first onto the arena floor. Doing what he does best, Nick goes to seize the moment, sliding out of the ring and rolling Dashery onto his stomach, positioning Dashery's head on the angled part of the entrance ramp while the rest of his body stays on the protective mat. Nick then steps over his body, grabbing Dashery's arms and pulling them up. Nick then puts his right foot on the back of Dashery's head, letting go of Dashery's arms and driving his face into the ramp! Caelan Tyler: Ow! There's going to hurt Dashery's chances of making it big based on his looks. Jake Steel: After a move like that they'll probably need a squeegee to clean up the mess. Caelan Tyler: No doubt. Nick has definitely shown a real knack for taking advantage of what's around here though, and Dashery is feeling the consequences. Nick removes his t-shirt, using it to wipe off some of the blood from his brow before continuing his assault on Dashery. Pulling Dashery to his feet, it quickly becomes apparent that having his face driven into the entrance ramp has split open Dashery's head, and blood is running down his body. Jake Steel: HEY! That's red blood, not blueblood! Caelan Tyler: Um, yeah? Jake Steel: I feel gypped! He says he's a blueblood! Caelan Tyler: Jake... All blood is red when it comes in contact with oxygen. It's blue when there's no oxygen exposed to it. Jake Steel: It's all been a lie! I feel so cheated! Caelan Tyler: ... Rolling Dashery into the ring, Nick goes for a pin attempt: 1... 2... No, kickout right before the 3! Undaunted, Nick pulls Dashery to his feet, but is caught with a thumb square to the eye! The crowd boos loudly as Dashery follows it up with a picture perfect standing dropkick! Both men are down and out as Dashery struggles to regain his sense of composure with the near constant state of blood loss. Nick's wound also continues to leak out, and it seems to be visibly affecting his ability to recover at the moment. Dashery gets up first, stomping Nick a bit before dragging Nick to the apron. Once there, Dashery steps out of the ring before grabbing Nick's leg and sliding him onto the table. Dashery then grabs a nearby chair, swinging it and bringing it down hard on Nick's midsection to try to keep him down. Dashery then climbs back onto the apron and then the top turnbuckle, taunting the fans once up there. Sneering at Nick, Dashery takes of, nailing a frog splash that causing the table to snap on impact, sending both men to the arena floor. Caelan Tyler: Major high risk move by Dashery there, although you gotta question the wisdom of such a move at this stage of the match, as he hit the floor just like Nick did. Jake Steel: But Nick was also there to take the impact of the move and then to break Dashery's fall. Caelan Tyler: True. Jake Steel: At this point I don't think I honestly case who wins the match, both guys are really bringing the abuse here! Caelan Tyler: Yes, but at what cost? Jake Steel: Who cares? It's entertaining me, and that's what's important! Both men lay motionless on the arena floor, with the fans chanting 'MVW' in reference to the display that's being put on here tonight. Dashery starts to stir first, and slowly gets to his feet, taking a few more moments to lift Nick up and roll him back into the ring for the pin attempt: 1... 2... No, Nick just barely gets his shoulder up before the three! The crowd goes ballistic once they see that he kicked out, and Dashery has a look of disbelief on his face at this fact. Dashery gets back to his feet, kicking Nick in the side of the head before climbing to the top rope, taunting Nick to get to his feet. Caelan Tyler: It looks like Dashery is calling for the BTY here. Jake Steel: BTY? Caelan Tyler: 'Better Than You'. It's what he calls his finisher. Jake Steel: Oh, I thought you had just messed up BYOB for a second there. Carry on! Dashery continues to taunt Nick as he stumbles up to his feet. Dashery then leaps from the top rope, twisting in air with a flying headscissors. He catches Nick, but Nick sees it coming, immediately clamping his arms down on Dashery's legs and spinning, sitting out and dropping Dashery with a modified powerbomb! Nick holds Dashery's legs for the pin: 1... 2... 3--No, Dashery gets his shoulder! Caelan Tyler: The BTY is countered by Nick! Jake Steel: Yes! The abuse can continue! Nick slowly gets to his feet, a smile crossing his face once he hears the 'MVW' chants. He then immediately starts to put the boots to Dashery before rolling him out of the ring. Once out of the ring, Nick points to his Splatter Zone, giving them a thumbs up before turning his attention back to Dashery. With the distraction, the blueblood has slipped the brass knuckles back on and takes a swing at Nick. This time Nick sees it coming, ducking out of the way and lunging forward, driving Dashery back-first into the apron. The force of the blow causes Dashery to drop the knuckles, and Nick immediately rolls Dashery onto the announcers' table before climbing up there himself. Jake and Caelan clear the area as Nick pulls Dashery into position before delivering a quick, stump-pulling piledriver! The table collapses on impact of the blow, and Dashery immediately starts to grab the back of his head and neck. Caelan Tyler: Jeez! They're just breaking tables all over the place tonight! Jake Steel: Damn right, but it looks like he might've jacked Dashery's neck with that move! The crowd still chanting, Nick slowly gets up, rolling Dashery into the ring before limping over and climb to the top turnbuckle. Without any hesitation Nick takes the air, crashing into Dashery with his Anti-Williams shooting star senton bomb! With barely any strength left in his body, all Nick can muster is draping his arm over Dashery for the pin: 1... 2... 3! The crowd erupts in cheers as the bell rings. Nick slowly sits up, taking in the cheers. Zach King: Here is your winner... 'UNTAMED' NICK JAMES! Caelan Tyler: What a hard fought victory for Nick, but both men really gave it their all and... Are you crying Jake?! Jake Steel: *Sniff* Sorry, I can't help it... That display of abuse was so beautiful... Caelan Tyler: Um, okay, well we're out of time folks, see you next Uprising! The referee helps Nick to his feet, handing him his two titles as the scene fades to black... |
