'Game On' by Discipline begins to play as the words 'NLW' flash across the screen, followed by images of the last Uprising, where Street Shark defeated the debuting Inferno, Archangel lost a street fight to Jackson, Vincent Kane defeated Eddie Williams (with some help from SoCo) and Draco defeated Harvey Danger in a non-title match. The main event had Aphrodisia and The Phoenix defeating Kevin Heat and The Black Phoenix, gaining The Phoenix a Legacy title shot and Aphrodisia the right to name the type of match her next defense will be! The scene cuts to ringside, with Jake Steel and Caelan Tyler. Caelan Tyler: Hello and welcome to a very special edition of Uprising, where we're going to be having a one night only tag team tournament! Jake Steel: Which I disagree with. Caelan Tyler: What? Jake Steel: There's no hardcore matches booked. Nothing. Caelan Tyler: Too bad, just deal. Anyways, we have Southern Comfort taking on The Hollywood Blondes, Society taking on Theo Mason and Street Shark, Aphrodisia and Draco taking on Archangel and newcomer Eliminator, and The Ice Man and The Phoenix taking on The Black Phoenix and Kevin Heat! Jake Steel: Yawn. Caelan Tyler: And for the main event the winners of those matches will face off in a tornado tag match for the tag trophies! Jake Steel: God I hope there ends up being more abuse than what it currently sounds like...
Charisma Finch stands in front of the camera playing with her hair not realizing it’s on. She stares at it and blinks then quickly stops realizing she’s on the air and she quickly bends down to pick up the microphone to speak. Charisma Finch: The Tag Tournament has been highly hyped and talked about in the wrestling community. There's been a lot of talk about who will win it. You have those saying Aphrodisia and Draco are clearly the cream of the NLW and thereby should easily dominate. On the other hand you have those who say Society 'clicks' and Society will win. Then you have those that believe... Well . . . these two ummmm... gentlemen... T.W Haywood and C.W Buford walk into the view of the camera. T.W is visibly chewing tobacco while C.W takes a swig from his unlabeled beer bottle. He spits some beers on the floor, the beer landing on Charisma's shoe. She gives an 'ew, gross' look on her face as C.W grabs the microphone and stares down at her. C.W Buford: What do you mean ummm gentlemen??? My Mammy raised me not to smack a woman no matter how uppity she got, but you're on your way for a blister red bare ass if you get what I mean darling. The talk is over! The time has come. Southern Comfort is coming to get them some. I reckon, that rhymes... ain’t that something. I reckon something else, we're going to easily dispose of these stick boy queers they decided to pair us off against, and then we're going to that main event, and we're going to have ourselves a good ole fashion bunkhouse brawl. A good ole fashion donnybrook. We're going to stomp mudholes, whoop asses, and everyone will be SALUTING THE GENERAL LEE... if I have anything to say about it! Tell them how it is T.W!!!! T.W Haywood: TIME FOR THESE DOGS TO HUNT! We've had ourselves a nice rack of rib each, we've toasted the male alligator, And we're about to show the NLW what REAL SOUTHERN BRAWL STYLE WRASSLERS... are all about. DAG GONE, I'm happier than a fox with free access to a hen's nest. All you little chickens are about to get yours. I have my WHITE LIGHTENING ready for you all, and one taste will be enough to cause all you damn chickens to SHIT EGGS... I tell you what! COME ON C.W LETS SMEAR THEM QUEERS!! T.W walks off Camera as C.W walks by Charisma and pushes her out of the way on their way to the ring. Caelan Tyler: Well Southern Comfort is on their way to the ring now, and they sound like they mean business. Jake Steel: WHOO! They always bring the abuse!
All My Life I been searching for something... The words MADE FOR TV appear on the screen as the lights in the arena slowly began to dim and 'All My Life' by the Foo Fighters progresses on. An array of baby blue lasers shoot into various directions, moving about, in time with the rhythm of the music. As the song drops in, explosions go off, as Sebastian York and Arran Hayden makes their way to the top of the ramp, rocking out to the music. They hop up and down atop the ramp before bursting into a full sprint towards the ring. Sliding into the ring, they both pop up onto their feet and York lifts both of his hands into the air, drawing a huge pop from the crowd as pyro shoots into the air from the each corner. As the pyro display dies down, Sebastian nods to the referee and waits for his match to begin as Hayden watches the entrance ramp. Zach King: Making their way to the ring, weighing a combined 470 pounds... Sebastian York and Arran Hayden... THE HOLLYWOOD BLONDES! Caelan Tyler: Sebastian York and Arran Hayden are one of the two teams that is composed completely of people invited to NLW for this tournament. Jake Steel: Let's see if they can stand up to the ABUSE! Fans boo as a random guy in a confederate outfit walks out with the Confederate Flag waving. He comes all the way down to the ring and then turns and walks back up. As he is half way back up 'Country Boy Can Survive' begins to play as the fans begin to boo as C.W Buford walks out first followed by T.W Haywood. C.W Buford is wearing a white T-Shirt with a confederate flag along with his wrestling tights. T.W Haywood on the other hand, his shirt says 'Tuesday's Gone' and he is visibly chewing tobacco. They walk to the ring with C.W turning around to say a few words to T.W who just nods in agreement. C.W Buford enters the ring as T.W unceremoniously spits his tobacco out on the floor and raises his hands before entering the ring. Zach King: And their opponents, weighing a combined 589 pounds... CW Buford and T.W. Haywood... SOUTHERN COMFORT! Caelan Tyler: Southern Comfort have been around NLW for the past few shows, first embarrassing Charisma Finch before... Jake Steel: The ABUSE started! Caelan Tyler: ...Yes, before attacking Eddie Williams last show, handing the easy victory to Vincent Kane. The bell sounds with TW Haywood and Sebastian York kicking things off in the ring. TW looks ready to jump right into the action as he closes in on York, who is backing up and circling the ring. Every so often he looks back over at his partner, Arran Hayden, who is shouting randomly at the crowd. York continues to try and keep away from TW, but the big man makes a quick dash and shoulder blocks Sebastian to the ground. Quickly capitalizing on his downed opponent, Haywood drops an old school elbow drop right across York's chest, hops to his feet, and repeats it one more time. After the second elbow drop, TW looks a little winded already obviously due to his size, so he grabs York by the head and drags him to his feet. Maybe due to the lack of concentration on York, TW doesn't see the hard punches from Sebastian coming until it's too late and he catches two quick jabs right to the gut. Caelan Tyler: TW started off in control here, but York was able to get in some offense. Looking at the pairings in the first round, this one definitely is the biggest question mark. Jake Steel: Not really, with SoCo involved there will be violence and lots of it! Caelan Tyler: We'll see, the match just started and York and Hayden could potentially neutralize the brawling abilities of SoCo. Withstanding the punches from York, TW regains himself for a moment, but it isn’t long lasted. York tries fighting out of Haywood's grip but both just end up in a head and shoulders lock. TW has the obviously size advantage and is just pushing his smaller opponent around with ease. Once TW gets him into the ropes, he pushes off and sends York to the opposite side of the ring. On the return, TW attempts a big boot, but York ducks under it and bounces off the ropes one last time. TW spins around with a surprised look on his face and is met by a cross body block by York, which sends both men to the mat. York stays on top of TW in an attempt for the easy win, but TW tosses Sebastian off him before the ref can even make it to his knees. Caelan Tyler: Quick pin attempted by York, but TW kicks out before the ref could even make a count. Jake Steel: Damn right! Southerners don't know when to stay down. You gotta be tough when you wrestling alligators as a hobby. Caelan Tyler: ...What? Jake Steel: You heard me. Caelan Tyler: That makes no... Jake Steel: SHHH! Being younger and more in shape, York makes it to his feet first and immediately heads to his side of the ring to try and tag in Arran Hayden. TW might be bigger, older, and slower but he isn't quite done with York yet. Before even getting all the way to his feet, he moved as quick as his southern boots would take him to grab the arm of Sebastian and yank him back into the middle of the ring. Unfortunately, York was able to slip away after using the momentum that Haywood gave him with the yank to land a solid back elbow to TW’s chest, which knocked the wind out of him. York quickly rushes to the other side of the ring and tags in Arran. Annoyed, TW takes walks over to his corner and tags in CW Buford. Caelan Tyler: After getting a good sign of what York and TW can go now we have Buford and Hayden in the ring. Jake Steel: We all know the formula now. Southern guy beats on pretty boy, pretty boy runs. Etcetera etcetera. Caelan Tyler: Somehow I don't see that applying here. Jake Steel: Scoff if you want, you'll see I'm right. Before Buford can even make it all the way into the ring; Hayden is rushing across the ring trying to catch him off guard. However, misjudging the amount of time it would take TW to get out of the ring, Hayden caught a hard double axe handle to his shoulder from Haywood. The ref quickly rushes over and begins to give TW the business. With the ref's back turned, CW sees an opportunity and leg sweeps Hayden and quickly jumps on top of him, wrapping his huge hands around Arran's neck. Once the ref finally gets TW out of the ring, he turns to see CW choking Hayden and begins the count. Expectedly, Buford releases the choke right at the four count. Caelan Tyler: Buford quickly getting in with his brawling tactics, attempting to choke the life out of his opponent even with the referee telling him to back off. Jake Steel: YES! This is why I love SoCo! Caelan Tyler: You would... After arguing with the ref for a few seconds, Buford turns back to his opponent who is slowly getting to his feet. Paying no mind to Hayden and yelling at the crowd, CW is oblivious to Arran otherwise he would have noticed him rearing back to land a couple of elbows to his gut. Taking the advantage, he bounces off the ropes and lands a dropkick right to the chest of Buford, rocking him but not sending him to the mat. In his burst of energy, Arran tries again but this time attempting a clothesline, but still it just rocks the big southern bull. In one last attempt, Arran uses whatever is left of his energy and shoots himself off the ropes one last time and jumps into the air in a flying clothesline. This time both men hit the mat hard and neither is moving, the ref starts the ten count. 1..... 2........ 3........... Caelan Tyler: Both men down in the center of the ring, who will recover first? Jake Steel: SoCo I hope, I want more violence! 4............. Buford is slowly getting to his knees and the ref slows down his count. Arran is still down but his eyes are open and he's looking around trying to regain himself. He sees Buford getting back to his feet and forces himself to sit up. He just sits for a moment, every so often looking over at Buford to see where he's at. CW is inching towards his corner slowly and once Arran notices he starts crawling his way over to him. Both men are moving slowly, but Arran is right up behind CW and grabbing for his foot to try and stop him from tagging in the fresh TW Haywood. What Hayden doesn’t know is that Buford is just out of breath, the pace of Arran can be overwhelming for a big man, so once Arran grabs Buford's foot, he immediately lets a smile cross his face and than nails Arran right in the chin with a huge mule kick. Arran flies back and is sprawling out across the mat, Buford tags in Haywood as he rolls under the bottom rope. Caelan Tyler: Buford gets the tag to Haywood! Jake Steel: YES! Caelan Tyler: This could be huge for Southern Comfort. Haywood swiftly moves over to Hayden who is still on his back and seemingly out cold. Haywood just towers over his downed opponent for a moment looking around and than he points to Sebastian York, the ref turns and looks to see York on the mat duking it out with Buford. Quickly seizing the opportunity Haywood starts stomping on Hayden's chest like there is no tomorrow. TW is just laying the boots to him as fast and hard as he can before the ref breaks up the ruckus on the outside of the ring. Caelan Tyler: Southern Comfort taking advantage of the distraction of the ref to put the boots to Arran. Jake Steel: Literally! Caelan Tyler: I figured you'd be enjoying that. Jake Steel: Damn right! TW stopped lacing down the boots right before the ref regained control, and he was pulling Arran to his feet when the ref turned back around. Hayden is barely able to stand on his own, but Haywood doesn't think anything of it and attempts to whip Arran into the corner, however he just stumbles over his own feet and falls over, but not out of reach of his partner, who slaps his back and the ref counts the tag, possibly out of pity. York is fresh and is ready to fight, so he hops through the ropes and charges at TW. However, his attempt to make it happen is put to a halt by a huge boot to his face, which sends him sprawling underneath Haywood and sliding across the mat. York seems dazed but not completely hurt, as he makes his way to his feet slowly, but TW is right behind him waiting. After a second, TW looks over his shoulder at Arran, who is leaning against the ropes trying to regain some stamina. TW turns and walks over to him and slaps him in the face, causing the ref to turn his attention from Sebastian. Buford takes the advantage and climbs through the ropes and stomps York's chest a few times before climbing to the second turnbuckle and calling for Haywood. Arran Hayden makes the mistake of trying to get into the ring, even though he's beat and worn out and TW turns his attention to York and his partner. Caelan Tyler: More cheap tactics by SoCo, using the fact that the referee is only human to their advantage to abuse the Blondes seemingly at will. Jake Steel: This is beautiful. Caelan Tyler: No it's not! Jake Steel: What? You never wanted to see the pretty boys get beat up in school? Caelan Tyler: ... Jake Steel: Oh right, I forgot, you were one of them. *Cough*fruit*cough* Caelan Tyler: WHAT?! Jake Steel: Nothing. The ref is still tied up with Hayden who is just letting his partner get pummeled, so TW lifts York to his feet and sets him up in a Tombstone position. He spins around with York high in the air and Buford leaps from the turnbuckle, grabs York’s feet on the way down, and crashes into the mat, spiking Sebastian's head. CW quickly rolls out of the ring, while TW climbs on top of York for the pin. Before Hayden is able to break up the count, CW is right back into the ring and crushes Hayden's throat with a nasty lariat. 1... 2... 3! Zach King: Here are your winners... SOUTHERN COMFORT! Caelan Tyler: Impressive win by SoCo here, even if they had to resort to cheap tactics to get it. Jake Steel: Told you they'd pull it off!
The scene cuts to the backstage area, where Joan Sullivan is walking around, clipboard in hand as a stagehand runs up to her, tapping her on the shoulder. Stage Hand: Mrs. Sullivan, you have a guest in your office, he said it's important. Joan Sullivan: Who? Stage Hand: Well, he was rather belligerent and had a brown paper bag in his hand and a title belt, said you wanted to discuss the belt... Joan Sullivan: Perfect. Joan quickly walks back to her office, and as she pushes the door open she's granted to the sight of a man sitting behind her desk, his legs propped up on it. In his hand he has a bottle wrapped in a brown paper bad, and slung across his shoulder is a belt, that while rather worn the words 'NLW Tag Champion' can still be read on it. Joan Sullivan: Silver Cyanide. Silver Cyanide: The one and only! So what's shakin'? Caelan Tyler: I have a bit of a business proposition for you... Before anything else can be heard Joan pushes the door shut. Jake Steel: Silver Cyanide?! What the hell is here doing here? Caelan Tyler: I have no idea, but he's still got that tag title he stole from the Archangel Alliance!
Zach King: This is an NLW Tag Team Tournament first round match, scheduled for one fall! Making his way to the ring first, from Fayetteville, North Carolina, weighing in at 174 pounds... THEO MASON! Jake Steel: Which of course means jack and squat here. Call us when you've done something lately kid! Jake Steel: If by interesting you mean shoot me now, then yes, it'll be interesting. ![]() Once the image appears Vincent Kane and Brad Jackson step out from the back, basing in the hate of the crowd as they make their way to the ring, Zach King: And their opponents, at a combined weight of 477 pounds... They are Vincent Kane and Brad Jackson... SOCIETY! Caelan Tyler: Society are the new boys on the block, trying to manipulate Joan Sullivan into doing what they want her to. Jake Steel: That and they bring the PAIN! Caelan Tyler: That they have, with Kane debuting by attacking The Phoenix and Jackson making a similar impact in his brutal debut match against Draco. Jake Steel: Well that's only going to be temporary, Vincent Kane has already beaten Street Shark so they shouldn't stand a chance. Jake Steel: He's a big Scottish blowhard, I'm sure Kane will take a big shark bite out of his career with the Where it Ends. Caelan Tyler: Perhaps. Jake Steel: Hell yes! Vincent Kane needs to CHOKE THAT BITCH! Caelan Tyler: ...You're not Dave Chappelle. Jake Steel: ...So? Jake Steel: Hey, if he was *so* successful there then how come I've never seen him anywhere else? Caelan Tyler: ...Um, good question. Couldn't tell you. Jake Steel: Damn midgets need to know when to quit. Caelan Tyler: He's not a midget, he's just short. Jake Steel: Psh, next you'll tell me he's not a leprechaun either. Jake Steel: This is one of the reasons why you have to figure these guys are going to be the favorites. They actually want to work together, unlike most of the teams. Jake Steel: Bah, the bigger they are the harder they fall. Caelan Tyler: You say that now when you're out here, but would you say that in the ring with him? Jake Steel: Come on Shark, just tap so we can move onto the next match! Caelan Tyler: Shark's not the type to give up! Jake Steel: I'm still in shock of that scoop slam... Caelan Tyler: Society pulled it off! Shark and Mason just got too confident for their own good. Jake Steel: To the surprise of no one but you.
Caelan Tyler: We are told we have an important announcement coming up. Any ideas what it is?
Zach King: The following tag match is scheduled for one fall! Making her way to the ring first, fighting out of New York City, NY... weighing in at 205 pounds... The lights go out as the sound of violins echo through the arena, the 'What it's like to burn' by Finch hammering through the PA. She buuuuuuuuuuuuurns Zach King: THE BLACK PHOENIX! Today's on fire The lights begin to strobe as images of the carnage left in the wake of the Phoenix flashes on the big screen: Like a bad star, I'm falling faster down to her The Black Phoenix appears underneath a spotlight on the turnbuckle as flame explode from the other turnbuckles, the mask looking even more ghoulish as it reflect the light of the fire. She throws her hands in the air as the light come back on with a thunder of pyro on the stage. Today is fire, and she burns The lights fade back up and the music fades as The Black Phoenix drops from the turnbuckle, she rips off her mask and awaits the battle ahead. Caelan Tyler: This should be one of the more interesting match-ups we see tonight, with Black Phoenix and Kevin Heat taking on The Phoenix and The Ice Man. Jake Steel: Too many 'The's. Caelan Tyler: That's what they call themselves Jake. Jake Steel: Well damnit they need to rename themselves! They can be 'The Wrestlers formerly known as 'The''. Caelan Tyler: No comment... The fading-in echo of 'I' ricochets from one end of the arena to the other. 'I... won't back down! As the chorus of 'Won't Back Down' by Fuel begins to play, Kevin Heat walks out with a smug smirk on his face. He ignores all crowd reaction, whether cheer, boo or indifferent, though jeers seem to be the majority. Either way, he walks down to the ring as if he owns the place, stopping to get a good look at the fans faces every once in a while and shaking his head in disappointment. He enters the ring gradually and stares down the entrance ramp, waiting for his opponents. Zach King: And her partner, from Baltimore, Maryland... Weighing in at 228 pounds... KEVIN HEAT! Caelan Tyler: And here comes the number one contender! Jake Steel: If anyone is going to be able to stop Aphrodisia, it's Mr. Nuklear Heat! Caelan Tyler: ...Nuklear Heat? Jake Steel: Yeah, what of it? Caelan Tyler: ... The lights in the arena go dark, remaining so for a few moments before a dim red light illuminates the arena. The opening strains of 'The Instinct' hit the arena, slowly building in volume and intensity when, about thirty seconds in, fire shoots from each of the ring corners. Now with a drum beat to match the instrumental, it continues to build in volume for another twenty seconds of so before another large flame pyro goes off at the entryway. As it dies down, a figure can be seen in the smoky haze walking towards the ring as Zach King makes the introduction. Caelan Tyler: There's The Phoenix, who now has secured himself a shot at Draco's Legacy championship down the line. Jake Steel: Why, so he can choke again? Caelan Tyler: One of these days he's going to shut you up Jake. Jake Steel: I'd like to see him try. Blue strobe lights begin flashing in the arena, '10,000 Fists' by Disturbed begins to play and the Ice Man steps out from behind the curtain. He pauses on the stage to take in the cheers and jeers from the thousands in attendance. He slowly makes his way to the ring. He walks up the steps and steps into the ring. He goes to the far turnbuckle and throws his hands into the air, fists clenched. He then hops down and the strobe lights stop as he prepares for the match to begin. Zach King: And his partner, from Portland, Oregon... Weighing in at 275 pounds... He is the NLW Anarchy X Champion... THE ICE MAN! Both teams are in their respective corners. Both teams talk amongst themselves discussing who is going to start the match. On the Ice Man and Phoenix side Phoenix exits the ring and Ice Man turns around as the bell rings to face whoever ends up starting off on the other side. On the other side of the ring Kevin Heat nods his head in agreement with Black Phoenix as he exits the ring leaving us with Ice Man and Black Phoenix to start things off!! Caelan Tyler: The last time these two faced off it was one of the most brutal matches in NLW history. Jake Steel: YES! Abuse! Both competitors approach the center of the ring. They begin to act as if they are going to lock up with each other but Black Phoenix quickly pulls away and goes for a stiff quick at Ice Man's right arm but he backs away as the crowd oh's at the attempt. Both competitors are being more cautious than perhaps normal due to the prestige winning the tag tournament could bring. They both lock up for real this time... And Ice Man strikes first with a body slam. The Black Phoenix quickly gets up and receives another body slam. She gets up and this time Ice Man hits a DROPKICK that sends Black Phoenix down on the ground and she rolls out of the ring and bangs her first on the outside apron pissed off. Ice Man doesn't go after her since she rolled out near Kevin Heat and he doesn't want to risk a double team. The Ref begins a count and at the count of five Black Phoenix rolls back in to continue the match. Jake Steel: Simple Caelan, you can never beat a crazy bitch the same way twice. Caelan Tyler: ...Right... They lock up again... this time Black Phoenix twists the arm and pulls up on it giving her arm control. Ice Man has a look of discomfort on his face but he's in no immediate danger of tapping out. Black Phoenix pulls up on it again as Ice Man is able to get his other arm in position and reverses the arm twist... twisting Black Phoenix's arm. Black Phoenix lets out A SCREAM... but not a painful scream more of a war cry as she flips down to the mat... kips up... re-twists Ice Man's arm and then begins delivering rapid fire kicks into Ice Man's chest while holding on to the arm. He finally catches one of the kicks with his free arm causing her to let go of his arm and attempt an enzuguri but he ducks as she crashes down to the mat! He picks her up and delivers a few fore arms and throws her into the ropes. He tries to hit a clothesline but she ducks. She comes back off the ropes and goes for A HIGH KNEE! But he moves out of the way. Caelan Tyler: First some agility from Ice Man and now chain wrestling?! Jake Steel: I told you my theory would hold true. Caelan Tyler: ...Maybe... They both face off at each other in a frustrating stale mate for a few seconds. After a few seconds both of them back up into their corners and they both tag their partners into the action. Kevin Heat and the Phoenix both come in as a 'Phoenix' chant breaks out from the crowd. Both men after a few seconds of measuring each other up go into a lock down and go into a vicious battle for control. Kevin Heat backs Phoenix into the corner with the ref asking for a clean break. Kevin Heat acts like he's going to give it and then gives a cheap shot into Phoenix's face. The crowd boos as he delivers more forearms to Phoenix's face and then goes to whip him into the opposite corner... But Phoenix reverses it and Heat hits the corner back first comes out of it and then gets backed body dropped by the Phoenix to the cheers of the crowd. The Phoenix wastes no time as he picks up Kevin Heat and goes to bodyslam him but he gets his legs wrapped about Phoenix's head and a head scissor takes him down. Caelan Tyler: Phoenix and Heat both came in, with Phoenix taking the lead early but Heat able to regain some measure of control with a head scissor takedown . Jake Steel: Come on Phoenix, stay down! Don't let your nickname down! Phoenix is in a sitting position so Heat dives on him with a chin lock but Phoenix is easily able to get up. Kevin Heat repositions into a headlock so Phoenix backs him into the ropes and throws him off... He drops down causing Heat to jump over him. He gets up and catches Heat in a HIP TOSS! Heat gets up and gets HIP TOSSED AGAIN! He gets up but this time Heat blocks the hip toss and rakes Phoenix's eyes to put an end to that. As Phoenix attends to his eye, Heat gets him in position and hits a swinging neck breaker for arguably the biggest move in the match. He goes for the first cover but only gets a one as Phoenix easily kicks out, not softened up enough. Heat picks Phoenix up and sets him in his corner. He delivers a few forearms before tagging in Black Phoenix. The crowd stirs as Black Phoenix comes in and wastes no timing delivering body kicks to Phoenix who is trapped in the corner... Finishing it with a high kick to the side of his head as he falls face first to the mat. Black Phoenix has no time to waste though as she picks him up but keeps him in a bent over position. She grabs him by the head and begins to deliver several brutal knees to his forehead causing him to fall back down to the mat. She drops a knee on the back of his neck and then rolls him over for a pin attempt. She only gets two though as he gets a shoulder up. Caelan Tyler: BP and Heat in control of the Phoenix now, as BP starts to work over Phoenix with knees. Jake Steel: Deep tissue massage that is NOT. Caelan Tyler: I'll say, she's definitely looking to hurt him. Jake Steel: Huh what? Sorry, I was watching TV. Caelan Tyler: ... Black Phoenix picks him up and throws him into the ropes. As he comes off the ropes she charges at him and hits the high knee sending him crashing down to the mat. She goes for another cover but again only gets a two count as he gets the shoulder up. She grabs him by the arm and drags him to her corner as she tags in Kevin Heat. She picks Phoenix up and chicken wings his arms behind him so Kevin Heat can get in a few shots to the chin before the ref breaks it up. Kevin Heat is now alone in the ring with Phoenix as he delivers a few more forearms to his head, which is now trickling a little blood thanks to the knees. He brings him to the corner and puts him in a headlock setting him up for the bulldog. He runs and jumps to deliver the bulldog and nails it as Phoenix is now in real peril. He rolls him over for the three count but Ice Man comes in and delivers a kick to the back of Kevin Heat's head to put an end to that. Ice Man leaves the ring as Kevin Heat picks Phoenix up... but Phoenix hits him with a forearm to fight back! Caelan Tyler: Those vicious knees by BP opened Phoenix up, but now he's starting to fight back. Jake Steel: BLOOD! BP never lets me down when it comes to making the right people suffer. Kevin Heat throws a forearm. Phoenix responds with a forearm. They are both going back and forth with forearms on each other. Phoenix nails one that sends Kevin Heat into the ropes... he bounces off with a jumping clothesline to take Phoenix down... but Phoenix ducks it and Kevin Heat crashes to the mat. Phoenix wastes no time quickly crawling over and tagging in Ice Man who enters the ring and charges at Heat who just got up wailing away on him! Kevin Heat gets another rake in the eyes to break it up and bounces off the ropes to hit a running move... but Ice Man catches him with an over head belly to belly suplex... Kevin Heat crashing to the mat painfully flopping around holding his back! Ice Man knows he has control and he walks over to Kevin Heat in an attempt to get a quick cover but only gets a two count! He picks up Kevin Heat and throws him into the ropes again hitting another one of his trademark moves in the Big Boot, sending Heat down. This time he doesn't flop around as he's laid out and he goes for another pin attempt but the Black Phoenix comes in wildly kicking away at his head as the Ref tries to pull her off and get her out of the ring. Caelan Tyler: Ice Man with the pin attempt, but BP is able to break it up. Jake Steel: Not even Ice Man will be able to salvage the failure that is The Phoenix. Caelan Tyler: One of these days Jake... The pin is broken but the Black Phoenix pushes the ref out of the way and delivers a vicious cheap kick to the head as Ice Man tries to get up causing him to crash to the ring and then she exits!!! The fans really begin to boo her but she doesn't seem to give a fuck as Kevin Heat slowly crawls over and tags her in. She comes into the ring with a look of pure murder in her eyes and she bounces off the ropes as Ice Man is on one knee... And nails him a vicious fucking Yakuza kick sending him crashing to the mat. She doesn't even go for the pin though as even though he's lying prone on the mat she begins to viciously drop knee after knee after knee all over his body. She isn't even focusing on a target, she's just trying to hurt him. Caelan Tyler: Black Phoenix showing off her mean streak here. Jake Steel: Watching BP work is like watching a masterpiece in the process. Caelan Tyler: Sometimes I wonder about you Jake... Phoenix finally can't take it anymore and he comes in and grabs Phoenix by the back of the head and throws her away from him... as Kevin Heat comes in and hits Phoenix with a jumping clothesline... and they both roll out of the ring fighting each other. Kevin Heat goes to whip Phoenix into the guardrail and succeeds... but as he charges in for a follow up attack Phoenix bounces off... but dives down tackling Kevin Heat at the legs. Kevin Heat flips over and lands on his back. Instead of continuing the attack he walks back over to his side of the ring as Phoenix does the same. Caelan Tyler: The action has exploded outside with Heat and Phoenix going at it. Jake Steel: The ref just has no control over this mess. I LOVE it! Meanwhile in the ring, The Black Phoenix has picked the Ice Man back up who seems to be in a dazed and she begins to deliver kicks all over his body, legs, chest, back white not. Despite the beating Ice Man refuses to go down so she drop kicks one of his legs dropping him to one knee. She bounces off the ropes and comes off with a SHINING WIZARD ATTEMPT and then goes for a pin attempt which gets a two count. The Black Phoenix and Kevin Heat team are in complete control as she picks him up and throws him into the ropes... She goes for a round house kick but he ducks it... and he comes off the rope and nails a CLOTHESLINE FROM HELL... taking her down as he collapses to the mat. He's hurt badly though, but that one vicious Clothesline has given him a window as he slowly rolls to his corner and tags in the Phoenix. The Phoenix has some ideas going through his head. He walks into the ring and picks up the Black Phoenix... hitting her with a snap suplex. He picks her up again and throws her up again and this time hits her with a fisherman suplex with a bridge. The Ref goes down for a count but only gets a two as she kicks out. He picks her up again and he sets her up for an Atomic drop but in stead grabs one of her legs. The crowd stirs as he lifts her up and drops her right leg down over his knee as he begins to work on the leg for his finishing hold!!! Caelan Tyler: Phoenix is now starting to work BP's leg over for the Blaze of Glory! Jake Steel: What a wasted effort on his part. No way she taps to him. Caelan Tyler: You never know Jake. Jake Steel: Tough bitches are tough. They don't tap. He lifts her up again and drops it again this time letting go as she drops to the mat. She quickly stands up with a visible limp but with a pissed off look on her eyes. As if to show she's feeling no pain she begins to start kicking at the side of his body with the injured leg but he catches it and hits a DRAGON SCREW LEG WHIP to the roar of the crowd. Black Phoenix again stands up with an even more noticeable limp but she continues to act like it doesn't bother her as he takes her down with an arm bar take down and GETS THE BLAZE OF GLORY AS THE CROWED ERUPTS! Kevin Heat quickly comes into the ring. The Ice Man comes into cut him off but it's too late as he stomps on Phoenix's head causing him to release the hold. However, Ice Man is able to get a forearm shot on Kevin Heat sending him rolling out of the ring. He goes out after him. The Ice Man on the outside goes to whip Kevin Heat into the outside post but Kevin Heat reverses it and Ice Man crashes into the post. Kevin Heat, who realizes an opportunity when he sees it, goes over to The Ice Man picks him up and rams him violently on the outside post and Ice Man crumbles to the outside out cold. Kevin Heat satisfied with his job goes back to his corner. Caelan Tyler: More carnage on the outside as the ref just can't seem to keep order in this match. Jake Steel: How could anyone? These four want this more than anything. Meanwhile in the ring Phoenix has recovered from the stomp to the head and he goes to pick Black Phoenix up. Black Phoenix with a surprise burst of energy pushes him away though and delivers a KAWADA KICK to the face. However, it puts pressure on the leg that's been worked on and she falls to the ground as Phoenix falls down realizing he needs a tag after that. He goes over to his corner for a tag only to realize the Ice Man isn't there, due to the outside fight with Kevin Heat earlier. Meanwhile Black Phoenix gets to Kevin Heat and tags him in. He wastes no time he runs toward Phoenix who turns around realizing he has no one to tag. Kevin Heat jumps up on Phoenix's shoulders and hits a hurricanrana and begins to deliver punches to Phoenix's face as he's on top of him. Kevin Heat gets off of him and picks him back up again. He acts like he's going to go for a suplex but then rolls Phoenix up in a quick small package for a very close two count. So close some in the crowd actually gasp thinking Kevin Heat got the pin. Kevin Heat bangs on the mat in frustration as he picks Phoenix up again and puts him in a headlock. Caelan Tyler: Heat so close to picking up the victory. Jake Steel: DAMNIT! Another half-second and I could go get one of those big pretzels instead of watching The Phoenix wrestle. He hits another running bulldog his second in the match on Phoenix and rolls him over for another two count. Meanwhile outside Ice Man is crawling over to his corner knowing his partner is in trouble. Back in the ring Kevin Heat has climbed up to the top rope waiting for the Phoenix to get up. Once the Phoenix does he jumps off nailing a flying clothesline and dives on top of Phoenix hooking the leg for a two count! Ice Man is up to the apron now trying to pull himself up as Phoenix is still in trouble inside the ring. Kevin Heat tags in the Black Phoenix who comes into the ring with murderous intentions! She walks over to Phoenix and rolls him over on his stomach. She places grabs his hands and pulls upward on them... And then puts her foot on the back of her head and Curb Stomps him on the ground. She's not done though as she does it another time. A sick look appears on her face as she does it a third fucking time. She then rolls him over for a one... a two... he barely gets the shoulder up and she mounts him delivering fast paced vicious elbows into his face over and over and over and over again. He is really bleeding now as she stands up and tags Kevin Heat back into the match. Meanwhile Ice Man is up on the apron and now pulling himself up by the ropes. Kevin Heat has Phoenix in a bulldog position and runs towards the ropes... Caelan Tyler: Heat's going for it... Jake Steel: YES! This is over! THE BALTIMORE BRAND! Kevin Heat knows it's over. The crowd knows it’s over. He goes for the cover... One... Ice Man's back in the ring! Two... Ice Man makes a last ditch dive... TH... ICE MAN WITH A DIVING DOUBLE AX HANDLE TO BREAK UP THE COUNT AND THE CROWD GOES APESHIT!!! Ice Man rolls back out of the ring... still needing to fully collect himself but he's back in his corner to be tagged now. Kevin Heat gets up and tags in Black Phoenix who comes in and gets back into the ring as Phoenix is on his knees trying to shake the cob webs. Black Phoenix positions herself for the killing Shining Wizard blow as he's up to one knee... she runs to go for the Shining Wizard.. But he gets a hand up to block the knee to the face. Black Phoenix quickly gets up to go for another tempt but with one burst of energy Phoenix CLIPS HER IN THE LEG FROM BEHIND... Causing BP to go down. She doesn't show pain in her face but it's obvious Phoenix might have the time to breathe. Ice Man is in the corner yelling for the tag... he wants the tag... he needs the tag. Black Phoenix is going toward Heat .. Phoenix is going toward Ice Man. THEY ARE BOTH TAGGED IN AT THE SAME TIME!!! Heat and Ice Man go at it with each other but Ice Man wins the exchange... no Kevin Heat gets control... he goes for a chop... but Ice Man ducks it... Kevin Heat spins around Ice Man has him with A RELEASED GERMAN SUPLEX! Kevin Heat slowly gets up to his feet though so Ice Man comes and puts his head between his legs. He nails a sit out powerbomb! ONE... TWO... Black Phoenix in to break it up. Black Phoenix delivering elbows from above on top of Ice Man's head. Phoenix comes in and tackles her!!! They both roll to the outside as Ice Man continues his attack on Kevin Heat. He picks Kevin Heat up... Kevin Heat pushes him away... HEARTBURN!!! Ice Man goes down and the crowd deflates. Kevin Heat can't capitalize though as he drops down to a knee to recollect himself. Caelan Tyler: Ice Man was able to break up the pin and it looked like he'd be able to pull this back in favor of his team, but the continued assault by Heat has him down and out as well. Jake Steel: This is why Heat's getting the NLW Championship and guys like Ice Man are regulated to the lesser belts. Caelan Tyler: Ice Man deserves a NLW Championship match just as much as anyone else. Jake Steel: Tell that to management. Meanwhile outside Black Phoenix and Phoenix continue to battle each other. She goes for a vicious kick to the side of the body but he catches it and dragon screw leg whips her on the outside... She goes down but she again tries to show it's not effecting her by quickly getting up... So Phoenix wastes no time and takes her down with the BLAZE OF GLORY ON THE OUTSIDE! They aren't the legal competitors, and they are both outside so it won't get a submission... But it keeps her out of the way of Kevin Heat and Ice Man going at it. Caelan Tyler: Phoenix using his Blaze of Glory hold to weaken BP on the outside. Jake Steel: Come on, the ref needs to stop this! Caelan Tyler: ...Wait, so if Heat or BP do it, then it's okay, but if The Phoenix does it, it's bad? Jake Steel: Quite frankly yes. Caelan Tyler: ...Just checking... Meanwhile in the ring Kevin Heat has collect himself and he walks over to Ice Man and puts him in a bulldog. It's obvious he's going for the Baltimore Brand Again... he charges but Ice Man pushes him off. Kevin Heat hits the ropes sternum first and bounces off... with Ice Man quickly catching him in a full nelson. FULL NELSON SLAM!!!! He drags Kevin Heat into position and decides to forgo his usual set up move to end this now! He climbs to the top rope. Black Phoenix is on the outside trapped in the Blaze of Glory and can't do anything as Ice Man comes off with the AVALANCHE!!!!! He hooks the leg. ONE... TWO... THREE!!!!! Hearing the bell ring Phoenix releases the Blaze of Glory on the outside to join his partner in victory inside the ring. Zach King: Here are your winners... THE ICE MAN AND THE PHOENIX! Jake Steel: God damnit! Caelan Tyler: Ice Man and Phoenix pulled it off and advanced! Ice Man and Phoenix make their way to the back, and after a few moments the arena lights cut out completely. A moment passes in complete darkness, when the sounds of an eagle are heard across the PA system. A yin yang appears briefly on the jumbotron. Maniacal laughter echoes around the arena, and the lights begin to flicker occasionally. The opening sounds of 'Close Friends' by Adema hits the loudspeakers, and a section of the crowd roars in appreciation. The lights return, dimmed, revealing two men in the ring. The first stands atop a turnbuckle, leather trench coat to his feet, both arms spread wide. In each hand there is a shaft of lead piping. The second man is running around in circles in the ring, in an NLW T-shirt and plaid shorts, laughing like a mad person. Caelan Tyler: Jake, that's... that's Talon and The Jackrabbit! Jake Steel: You're right!... From 'The Animaniacs', right? Caelan Tyler: No, from ICWF! Talon climbs down from the turnbuckle, traveling to the opposite one and repeating his pose, arms stretched out wide, a stern expression on his face. The Jackrabbit ceases his circles and hops onto the opposite turnbuckle, waving just two fingers on each hand in the air. He tips back his head and laughs. 'Close Friends' comes to an end as the duo come into the ring. The Jackrabbit is handed a microphone after asking 'pretty please.' The Jackrabbit: Surprise! ... Heya 'Rabbit Fans! And uh... Talon Fans too! How y'all doing? So this is that En-Ef-El then? Talon says something to The Jackrabbit. The Jackrabbit: Uh, En-El-Dub even! I knew that, obviously! So, be ya glad to see The Jackrabbit and Talon... that's us... back?! The crowd explode with cheers of appreciation, clearly showing that the duo are fan favorites. The Jackrabbit: I think that's a yus-yup-maybe-yeah! It's been a real long while since Fusion ... that's us, too, by the way. We're Talon and The Jackrabbit... and we're Fusion... I know it's confusing, was Tal's idea really, I try not to make him cranky... anyways, where was I? Ah yes, wrestling ring ... it's been a while since Fusion smashed heads in ICWF and bashed brains in HSW. But worry not little Fusionlings, we're back now for more smash-bash-crashing... At this point, Black Phoenix and Kevin Heat have finally recovered and climb their way into the ring. They charge the pair, but Jackrabbit cuts Phoenix off, sending her over the top rope. Kevin Heat is met by a thundering blow to the skull from Talon's lead pipe. Heat hits the mat and crawls forward, using the ropes to pull himself to his feet. He is instantly met by another furious lead pipe blow, busting his head open and sending him sprawling back to the mat. Talon grabs him by the hair and pulls him up, tossing him up into a powerbomb position. The Jackrabbit leaps onto Heat's shoulders in a crucifix position, spiking him onto his head as Talon drops him. Heat rolls out to ringside, a bloodied, crumpled heap. Talon is breathing heavy, and snatches the microphone from The Jackrabbit. Talon: As my deluded companion states, Fusion has come upon NLW. The Fusion of friends so close they might be brothers, with their quirks and strangeness, with their grudges and acceptance, with their bitter feuds and unchained minds; have come to NLW for but one reason. One thing motivates beyond any other. One question burns - like a phoenix - the tip of a tongue ever wagging with questions. For a tag team so great that men might quail with fear rather than set foot against us, the only fitting question is... Talon pauses long enough for the crowd to get restless with anticipation. Talon: For what feasible reason, upon Earth under the heavens, or from Niflheim in the frozen depths, might have been found to exclude us from the tournament? Was it pure craven cowardice? Was it simply neglect? Was he who hunts forgotten in the many years that pass, was the laughing harlequin so far that even his maniacal laughter was forgotten to your ears? It matters little the reason, on reflection, however. The cup must be ours, and regardless of what opposition may be met, it shall indeed become ours. For so it is written, and so it shall be. The Jackrabbit throws his head back, his laughter booming afresh through the arena as Talon drops the microphone, stretching out his arms and the lead piping in each hand. The lights go out as 'Close Friends' returns to the PA system, and when they go up, Fusion is gone. Paramedics rush the scene to attend to Kevin Heat, who is being aided by Black Phoenix. Caelan Tyler: Talon and The Jackrabbit making a shocking debut here tonight! And immediately challenging the winners of tonight's tournament, they're not likely to be left off anybody's invite list again!
The scene cuts to the backstage area, more specifically the office of Joan Sullivan. Joan sits at her desk, scanning over paperwork with a rather disinterested look on her face when a single loud knock is heard on the door. Before Joan can even acknowledge it, the door swings open and Vincent Kane strolls in, a rather smug look on his face and a manila envelope tucked between his crossed arms. Joan Sullivan: Need something? Caelan Tyler: Well, um, it appears that particular camera is having technical difficulties. Jake Steel: I still want some copies of those pictures. Caelan Tyler: Go ask Joan for them then. Jake Steel: ...No thanks.
The camera cuts to the interior of The Phoenix's locker room, where he is stretching in order to keep loose for the main event that is still to come. On the screen is the image of Vincent Kane interjecting himself into Uprising the week that Phoenix put an accidental end to the career of Cade McCaffrey. Looking into the camera, one can almost see the anger fly across his face before he speaks. Caelan Tyler: I told you he'd draw a line Jake. Jake Steel: Psh, I'm not scared of a choke artist! Caelan Tyler: You'll regret that Jake... Jake Steel: No way!
'Thunderkiss '65' plays as Eliminator makes his way from the back. He slowly walks to the ring, paying no attention to the crowd. He methodically walks up the stairs, entering the ring. He paces around a bit and looks at the back, waiting for the match to start. Zach King: The following match is scheduled for one fall and is the final Tag Tournament qualifying match of the evening! Making his way to the ring first, from Nashville, Tennessee... Weighing in at 305 pounds... ELIMINATOR! Caelan Tyler: Eliminator is one of the new signees here in NLW, but he has a lot of past with one of the old companies that the NLW used to be connected to, the OCW. Jake Steel: I remember him. He sucked. Caelan Tyler: Your memory fails you then Jake. 'Duality' by Slipknot begins to play, the lights dropping low until the main part of the song hits. Spotlights shine down onto the center of the stage, where Archangel stands, head high, staring into the lights. He slowly looks away, before marching down to the ring and sliding under the ropes. Zach King: And his partner, from Detroit, Michigan... Weighing in at 310 pounds... this is ARCHANGEL! Caelan Tyler: This is an interesting pairing, as both competitors are known for their power and brawling. Jake Steel: And their sucking. Caelan Tyler: Stop that. Jake Steel: NEVER~! The lights in the arena are turned up. Turning into bright whites spots leaving the audience blinded. The lights surrounding the entranceway are doing the same, but instead of bright white they are an intense red shade. The screen comes to life with static as the PA system plays a low hum, almost like a feedback noise. The noise continues on and on. Finally, the screen flickers to life. A solid black screen with one word. The word looks to be written in puddles of blood. Caelan Tyler: Draco is the first member of what has to be one of the favorite teams on paper. The NLW Legacy champion and NLW Champion on the same team? Scary. Jake Steel: As long as they don't try to tear each other apart. That crazy bitch is crazy. Caelan Tyler: ...True. The lights go out, plummeting the entire arena into darkness. For a few moments, there is nothing but the soft sounds of the crowds rumbling with anticipation. A low, raspy voice speaks: From now on, we are enemies... you and I. The speakers explode in the hauntingly melodic tune of 'Warheart' by Children of Bodom. Images begin to pulse upon the video screen in time to the base beat of a pale woman's body parts. Her hand, clutching a cigarette, black nails long and seemingly lethal. Her shoulder, marred by deep and ragged scars. I'm an outcast on the path of rebound Her naked back, littered with a bullet marks, cuts and whip marks that slice through the tattoos on her skin. Her right eye, deep blue orb piercing through the darkness, seeming to glow, accented by two, black lines cut into her skin from the middle of her forehead to below her cheek bone. The image of the woman's scarred eye begins to pan out, exposing the other, the barbell through the bridge of her nose. Her straight, black hair hangs around her face as it pans out further, exposing her nose, the ring through her septum. Her lips drawn back into a wicked smile that hints of things to come, the three rings glimmering devilishly. Warheart! No remains from compassion or love The images continues to pan out, exposing the rest of Aphrodisia Jordan's body, wrapped in tight, black latex dress that goes from her breasts to her thighs. Her lips part, teeth glinting sharply as she seems to growl at the camera. The image disappears, sending the video screen into darkness. Smoke billows up from the stage, a solitary, red spotlight illuminating through it. The feminine silhouette steps out of the shadows, outlined by the single red light. Aphrodisia breaks through the wall of smoke, purple and white fireworks erupting from around the video screen and stage, the crowds erupting in thunderous cheers. Her face is lacking her piercings, but the haunting lines through her eyes are enough to make-up for it. Upon the screen, images of past triumphs, injuries and death-defying moves play across the screen. Warheart! No remains from compassion or love Her body is clad in a pair of baggy, black jeans that remain upon her shapely hips by a studded belt with a Jolly Roger belt-buckle. Her feet are adorned with heavy combat boots with skull laces, her abdomen covered with a black wife-beater. She begins to move down the ramp as the music enters its reprieve. I'm an outcast on the path of rebound She slides into the ring beneath the bottom rope, that sadistic grin still plastered on her face. Blue eyes scan the arena as she moves to her feet and then her corner, pacing like a caged animal. Warheart! I'm the Warheart, Zach King: And his tag partner... From Baton Rouge, Louisiana... Weighing in at 168 pounds... She is the NLW Champion... APHRODISIA JORDAN! Caelan Tyler: This should be interesting, having two relatively new to NLW competitors face off against two established champions. Jake Steel: I'm predicting squash. Caelan Tyler: I think their chances are... Jake Steel: SQUASH! Draco immediately steps to the center of the ring as the bell sounds, his back to a neutral corner so as to keep an eye on both his opponents...and his tag partner as well. There's a bit of discussion in the opponents' corner before Eliminator steps outside the ropes. Draco leaves the corner and circles briefly, making certain everything is under control before he stops and sticks a hand out to Archangel. Jake Steel: BOO! Sportsmanship is gay! Just hit him with a chair and be done with it! Jake Steel: As long as things get violent and fast I think I can make my way through this. Maybe. Jake Steel: Would you want to get near the crazy bitch? Caelan Tyler: You'd think he'd be used to it by now. Jake Steel: No, you see Draco wins with sneaky shit like that, you're not going to catch him with his own tricks. Caelan Tyler: Rookie luck, Draco will see this through. You don't spend years facing the likes of Sully or Titan 3 to lose to a guy like Eliminator. Jake Steel: What a waste of all our time. I still haven't gotten that big pretzel I wanted from before. Jake Steel: Agreed, WTF mate? Caelan Tyler: ...WTF? Jake Steel: Yeah, what the fuck? Caelan Tyler: ...But then why did you say the letters? Jake Steel: 'Cause that's how it goes. Duh! Jake Steel: Come on, someone needs to get busted open here damnit! ABUSE! Jake Steel: ...Is that seriously the best thing you could say there? Caelan Tyler: ...What? Jake Steel: No. Just no. Caelan Tyler: Archangel has been busted open here by the champ, who's definitely been showing her meaner side as of late. Jake Steel: And to think I was worried... This is glorious! Jake Steel: Damnit! I wanted to see the abuse continue. Caelan Tyler: Come on, needs more blood! Bust him open next time! Zach King: Here are your winners... 'THE HELLACIOUS ONE' DRACO AND APHRODISIA JORDAN! Caelan Tyler: The two young guns tried their best, but they just couldn't overcome the two champs. Zach King: Told you they wouldn't.
C.W Buford and T.W Haywood are sitting down on a wooden bench. T.W has a towel resting around his shoulders while he's drinking moonshine from a clear bottle. C.W Buford sits next to him his elbows on his knees and his chin rested on the double fist he created. He slaps his knees and sits up and points at the camera. C.W Buford: I ain't got that much more to say to you. We went out against those queers and we sent their asses packing. We hardly worked up a sweat. After the southern style ass whoopin' we delivered, anyone who sticks around to face us in the main event, well I reckon they ain't got a lick of sense inside those brains of theirs. Just a matter of time now I figure. Those tag trophies are almost in our grasp. We're just getting some moonshine in, thinking up all the ways we're going to bust some heads in the up coming match. T.W's ready, I'm ready. We just sent two queers who mistake grab assing for pro wrestling packing. Six more nancy pant wrestlers to go. I can't wait. T.W you got anything to add? T.W Haywood: Hells fire, I don't think there's much more to say. We've already shown we're men of our word. We already took two pretty boy bitches and gave them a trip behind the woodshed. Hell, to them it probably felt like we dropped the woodshed on them. We're in the main event, good times for us, bad times for anyone who tries to keep those trophies from coming to our mantle. THESE DOGS... Just finished one hunt... but that was just squirrel, hardly any meat and bones... the real hunt is coming up... and we got enough ammo to put you all up on our wall. YEEEEHAWWW... WHITE LIGHTENING FOR EVERYONE... you're all going to drop!!!! With that T.W Haywood takes another sip and then hands the jar to C.W who also takes a sip. Neither one looks up at the camera as the scene changes. Caelan Tyler: Well that was... unique. Jake Steel: Just the good ol' boys!
We cut to Society's locker room, where Jackson and Shane Donovan are just sitting around - Not seeming to be doing much of anything. A few seconds later Vincent Kane comes busting through the door, obviously pissed off. Caelan Tyler: Those guys are forever scheming. Jake Steel: I know, isn't it great? Caelan Tyler: ...
Joan Sullivan is seen walking through the hallway, purse slung over her shoulder as she heads towards an exit. Before she can leave, shouting can be heard. Stopping, Joan turns to see one of the producers heading towards her. Joan Sullivan: What do you need? Producer: We just got back word from the hospital, Kevin Heat won't be medically cleared to wrestle. Joan Sullivan: So? Ask Silver Cyanide to handle it. Producer: Well, um, he's kinda busy modifying backstage items for the main event. Joan Sullivan: ...He's what? ...You know what, never mind that. Change the main event for next Uprising, make it Aphrodisia Jordan defending her NLW Championship against The Ice Man. Now please, I got more important things to do. Joan turns to leave as the producer walks back down the hallway. Caelan Tyler: So it'll be Aphrodisia versus The Ice Man next Uprising? This'll be huge!
The scene cuts to ringside, where the eight finalists in the tag tournament are all in the ring. The lights in the arena all go out as the opening bass line of 'Feel Good Inc.' by Gorillaz begin to play. Following the statement 'Feel Good!,' and the beginning of the song's beat, a spotlight illuminates the entrance to reveal the new NLW commissioner Silver Cyanide standing on the stage, microphone in hand. The competitors in the area all stare at each other confused before Cyanide begins to speak, a smirk plastered on his face. Silver Cyanide: I'm sorry, but I can't allow this to go on. The the competitors in the ring continue to exchange confused glances as the crowd starts to boo. Undeterred, Cyanide presses on. Silver Cyanide: Tornado tag? That is BOOO-RING! I think we need to spice this up a bit! As Cyanide says that, several stagehands filter out from the back, carrying four ladders out to ringside. Silver Cyanide: In my career I was known for a few different gimmick matches, but there was always one that people always thought of when they thought about me, and good ol' Uncle Cyanide isn't about to let people be disappointed when he's around! Caelan Tyler: ...Wait, could it be... Jake Steel: ...I thought they had done away with this match? Caelan Tyler: Apparently not... The stagehands set up the ladders as the crowd's boos turn to cheers. Silver Cyanide: So the 8 of you get to face off in a HAZARDOUS LADDER MATCH! Have fun! 'Feel Good Inc.' hits as Cyanide exits to the back. Up above the ring, the old NLW Tag Championships are lowered into position as the bell rings. Zach King: The following match is a Hazardous Ladder match and is the... God damn! Zach is cut off as TW Haywood is tossed over the top rope by Ice Man, almost slamming into Zach. Zach quickly scrambles to safety as the melee explodes in the ring. Buford, seeing his partner getting tossed over the top rope, nails Ice Man from behind with a double axe handle. Ice Man quickly turns around, catching a haymaker from Buford. Elsewhere, Vincent Kane and Jackson quickly go on the offensive, attacking Phoenix and trapping him in the corner with stomps to the torso. Draco quickly slides out of the ring, catching Haywood with a running boot as the bigger man pulls himself to his feet. Caelan Tyler: HUGE announcement from Cyanide has kicked this match off with a bang here. Jake Steel: This will be abuse on an epic scale! Caelan Tyler: No doubt, we'll see what will happen in the ensuing melee, with this added wrinkle it'll be difficult to pin-point a favorite. Aphrodisia, who up until this point had sat back and watched the chaos, decides to act, pouncing on the back of Kane and nailing him with a stiff elbow. Jackson turns to help Kane, buying Phoenix a moment to catch his breath. Jackson delivers a clubbing blow to the back of Aph's head, knocking her off of Kane. Phoenix gets to his feet and lunges forward, dropping both Society members with a double clothesline. Outside the ring, Draco grabs the ring bell as Haywood attempts to recover. Draco stalks Haywood, looking to line up his shot when he feels a tap on his shoulder. Spinning around, Draco catches a boot to the gut and is quickly planted with a Salute to General Lee by Buford! Caelan Tyler: Draco tried to take advantage of Haywood on the outside, but his partner Buford cut him off and made him pay. Jake Steel: And did he PAY! WHOO! Caelan Tyler: Aphrodisia also helped get Phoenix out of his predicament with Society in the corner, any idea why she'd do that? Jake Steel: Well duh, he's the King of Choke. Keep the weak links in to help take out the others then put them down. Caelan Tyler: Remember what he said Jake... Jake Steel: Psh, I'll believe it when I see it. Back in the ring, The Phoenix and Jackson are exchanges rights as The Ice Man comes up from behind, reaching around and putting Jackson into a full nelson. The Phoenix turns his attention to Kane and Aphrodisia as Ice Man delivers a tiger suplex to Jackson, dropping him right on his head. Kane and Aph exchange glances before Aph drops down and slides out of the ring. Kane raises his arms in preparation to defend himself against Phoenix's attacks, but Aph grabs his leg and yanks him down, dragging him out of the ring. Aph goes to pull Kane up, but quickly tastes steel as Buford introduces her face to the business end of a steel chair. Buford then quickly brings the chair down across Kane's back. Phoenix watches for a moment before moving to cut off Haywood, who just slid back into the ring. Caelan Tyler: Southern Comfort is turning up the brawling here, no doubt hoping to use the rules of the match to their advantage, Jake Steel: Okay, now how the hell does a Hazardous Ladder Match work again> Caelan Tyler: Simple, there's several ladders stationed around the ring. Only one of these ladders is any good, the rest are all rigged to collapse upon use. No disqualification and no count outs. Jake Steel: This... This is like my dream match... Caelan Tyler: Yep. Phoenix greets Haywood with a few boots to the head, but Haywood gets to his feet regardless and introduces Phoenix to the bottom of his own boot. Phoenix pops back up, only to catch a chair to the back from Buford, who has finished up on his pounding of Kane and Aph on the outside. Ice Man, who has been busy focusing his attention on the now prone Jackson, turns to face the two SoCo members, and he too quickly gets a taste of southern hospitality. The crowd boos loudly as Buford tosses down the chair and both members of Southern Comfort roll out of the ring, grabbing the nearest ladder and picking it up. Instead of sliding it into the ring, the two men wedge the bottom of it against the bottom of the ringside barricade, then lean it up against the ring, creating sort of a ramp. Caelan Tyler: SoCo in control here, but I have no idea what they have in mind here. Jake Steel: Well *I* do. Caelan Tyler: And what is that? Jake Steel: ABUSE! Caelan Tyler: Should've known... Jake Steel: GLORIOUS ABUSE! With the ladder in place, Haywood goes and grabs Ice Man, dragging him to the outside as Buford climbs onto the barricade, balancing himself as best he can. Hauling Ice Man onto the barricade, Buford prepares to drop him onto the ladder when he catches an elbow to the head from Ice Man. Thinking quickly, Ice Man grabs Buford and spins him around, belly to belly suplexing both himself and Buford into the ladder! The whole thing collapses like a paper cup around the two behemoths as they fall prone to the ring floor! Caelan Tyler: What a move by Ice Man! Jake Steel: Well, that's one way to check if a ladder is safe or not... Caelan Tyler: I don't think Buford's going to be getting up from that anytime soon Jake. Jake Steel: Not unless he's got a cape and a 'S' on his shirt. Caelan Tyler: No, I'm doubting he's Superman. Jake Steel: What? Not Superman. Southern Man. Caelan Tyler: ...Say what? Jake Steel: Yeah, he saves people from bad BBQs and NASCAR rain delays. Caelan Tyler: ...I can't even dignify that with a response. The crowd is roaring to life as Haywood tries to pull his partner out of the tangled mess of metal before he's cut off with a superkick by Draco, which sends Haywood falling back onto the pile. Sliding into the ring, Draco spots the groggy Jackson, who is trying to recover from the vicious tiger suplex when Draco lights him up with a knife-edge chop. The crowd 'WOO!'s in unison as Draco delivers another one before whipping Jackson across the ring and bouncing off the opposite ropes. Draco leaps into the air like a missile aimed right for Jackson's head, connecting with a sick kick and dropping his foe like a bad habit. A 'Draco' chant starts up as Draco slides out of the ring, grabbing another ladder and sliding the piece of hardware into the squared circle. Caelan Tyler: Looks like Draco's fully recovered from that DDT he took on the outside and he's not trying to secure the victory here for himself and Aphrodisia. Jake Steel: Damnit! I hope someone stops him! Caelan Tyler: What? I thought you liked Draco. Jake Steel: I do but no way he can deny us more abuse here. Caelan Tyler: Well if he can he will. Jake Steel: Karma will bite him in the ass if he tries... Caelan Tyler: What do you know about Karma? Jake Steel: Nothing compared to what I know about your mom! Caelan Tyler: ...Okay now that one was a reach, even for you. Getting the ladder into the ring, Draco starts to set it up when his leg is grabbed by Kane, looking to prevent this from occurring. Before Kane could do any damage though, Aphrodisia gets to her feet, delivering a roundhouse kick that floors Kane and frees up her partner to try to win the match. Aph continues her assault on Kane as Draco finishes up setting up the ladder, with it angled so that the ladder is facing the turnbuckles. Slowly, Draco starts to climb, leery that he's chosen the wrong ladder but not wanting to grab a different one. Once he gets about halfway up, Draco notices that Phoenix has come to, and has positioned himself on the top turnbuckle. Before Draco can even react, Phoenix launches himself from the perch, crashing into the ladder. The ladder immediately folds under his weight, bringing it crashing down right on top of him as Draco falls off and lands on his back. Draco writhes in pain as Phoenix struggles to free himself from the shattered ladder. Jake Steel: HA! See, I told you, KARMA! Caelan Tyler: Yeah, but it was The Phoenix who stopped him, doesn't that upset you? Jake Steel: Normally it would, but the karmic scales are balanced by the fact that The Phoenix will lose this match like he does every other. Caelan Tyler: Right... While Phoenix attempts to unearth himself Jackson comes to and goes to his partner's aid, nailing Aphrodisia in the back of the head with the ring bell. Still holding the bell, Jackson climbs onto the ring apron as Vincent reaches into the ring, grabbing Draco and pulling his head out. Jackson gets a sadistic look in his eyes as he walks along the apron before dropping down and driving the edge of the bell into Draco's throat! Draco struggles to breath as Kane yanks him out of the ring the rest of the way and slams him back-first into the barricade. Kane and Jackson put the boots to him briefly before they both turn their attention to the ring, where Phoenix has finally gotten himself out of the ladder and is busy tossing the remains of it to ringside. Caelan Tyler: This has been a real back and forth affair so far, with each time taking turns being the dominant ones in the match, although right now the odds are looking clearly in the favor of Society. Jake Steel: He who abuses the best beats out the rest. Caelan Tyler: They may have completely taken Draco out of the match with their assault, driving the wooden base of the ring bell into his throat before slamming him into the barricade and no doubt knocking what little air he had left in his lungs out. Jake Steel: The only thing more fun than watching Draco hand out the abuse is watching him take it! Caelan Tyler: The important thing at this point is whether or not Kane and Jackson can capitalize on the time this has bought. There's only two ladders left to choose from, one of which is a normal ladder and the other one rigged to break. Jake Steel: I'm hoping they grab the wrong one so the abuse can continue. I take back most of the awful things I've said about Silver Cyanide, this match was genius. Caelan Tyler: No doubt that this has shaped up to be one of the best MEs we've seen in NLW history. Jackson and Kane exchange glances as Phoenix motions for them to come into the ring and get him. Kane grabs the ring bell and slides into the ring as Phoenix stands his ground, staring at Kane. Kane charges for him with the bell extended, but Phoenix is able to duck it and slides down, catching Jackson on the outside with a baseball slide. Kane stops himself at the opposite ropes, clearly surprised by Phoenix's speed when Haywood pulls himself up on the apron, grabbing Kane by the head and dropping down, driving Kane's neck into the ropes. Kane drops the ring bell as Haywood slides into the ring, pissed off look on his face as Kane struggles to regain his composure. Outside the ring, Phoenix grabs Jackson from the back of the head and slams his head into the barricade. Not satisfied with that, Phoenix then whips Jackson into the post, with Jackson's skull bouncing off the steel. Phoenix walks over to his fallen adversary before glancing over to the announcer's table. Shaking his heads, Phoenix grabs Jackson and launches him like a missile, and Jackson slides across the table, slamming into Jake Steel and knocking him over! Jake Steel: ACK, GOD DAMN SON OF A BITCH WHORE ASS! Caelan Tyler: HA! Jake Steel: NOT FUNNY! Caelan Tyler: I told you this would happen, but no, you chose not to listen. Jake Steel: THAT HURT YOU ASS! Caelan Tyler: Good. Caelan Tyler: Just when you think it was starting to narrow down Aphrodisia puts herself back into the match, taking down Haywood with a missile dropkick! Jake Steel: About time that crazy bitch put her foot down and handle her business. She's got an undefeated streak to maintain. Caelan Tyler: No doubt that she does, although with her partner Draco still incapacitated at ringside I'm not sure that I really like her chances of winning this. Jake Steel: I wouldn't count Draco out yet, that dude's come back from some pretty big abuse in the past. Caelan Tyler: Like what? Jake Steel: Well, he did manage to survive being in a stable with the kin fog abuse himself, Zimdela Brudon. Caelan Tyler: ...Point taken. Not realizing that Aphrodisia has re-entered the fray, Ice Man continues to deliver rights to Buford before standing up and turning to face Aphrodisia, who immediately does a flip, catching Ice Man square on the top of the head with a Purrfect Ending! Ice Man falls to the mat as Phoenix rolls to the outside to catch a breather. Aph also rolls out to ringside; grabbing one of the remaining ladders and sliding it part-way into the ring. Aph then slides the other part over the barricade to make a platform. Grabbing a nearby chair, Aph waits as Haywood struggles to his feet before blasting him on the back with the chair, knocking him back down. Aph then drags him over, draping him over the ladder before she grabs the chair and gets back onto the apron. With a sinister smile on her face Aph leaps off, using the chair to deliver an Arabian facebuster to Haywood as the ladder collapses underneath them both! Caelan Tyler: God damn that could've taken Haywood out of this match for good! Jake Steel: ABUSE! And not just abuse, now there's only one ladder left, and by the process of elimination... Caelan Tyler: Aph knows what she needs to do now in order to win this tournament, it's just a matter of whether or not she has enough left in the tank. Jake Steel: Come on Caelan, she's the undefeated NLW Champion. How could she not? Caelan Tyler: We'll see. Aph slowly pulls herself up from the collapsed ladder as Phoenix gets to his feet, nailing her with a right. As Phoenix tries to line her up for another Buford nails him from behind, grabbing Phoenix and dragging him around the ring to the announcer's table. Buford grabs one of the many cables running to the viewing screens and wraps it around Phoenix's neck, trying to choke the life out of him. As Buford attempts to strangle Phoenix Draco stands up, spotting the pair and not seeing anyone else standing. Moving quickly, Draco goes around the corner and blasts Buford with another superkick, freeing Phoenix from his opponent's grasp. Phoenix gasps for air as Draco grabs the last ladder. Caelan Tyler: Looks like you were right about Draco, he's back in this, although how I have no idea at this point, he's been sidelined for a while after that vicious attack on his neck. Jake Steel: Go big or go home at this point Caelan, Draco's not about to phone it in. Caelan Tyler: I guess not. Jake Steel: Especially not when there's only the one ladder and near certain victory if Aph can get herself back to her feet. Caelan Tyler: Very true. As Draco lifts up the ladder Aph frees herself from the wreckage and circles the ring, going to help Draco get the ladder into the ring. Before either person can side it into the ring though, Ice Man pops up, catching Draco with a chair shot! Draco is sandwiched between the ladder and the chair and falls to the floor as Aph shifts the ladder to try to block Ice Man's path. Phoenix has other idea though, and he nails her from behind before lifting her up onto his shoulders and driving her to the floor with an Immolation! Phoenix looks at Aph and at Buford before motioning to Ice Man, who starts to set up the ladder at ringside. Caelan Tyler: Yet another shift in momentum here, although I have absolutely no idea what Ice Man and Phoenix intend on doing. Jake Steel: Your guess is as good as... Why the hell is Ice Man putting Aph on the table here?! Good question indeed as Ice Man slides the NLW Champion onto the table while Phoenix finishes setting up the ladder. Ice Man then slides Buford onto the table as Phoenix starts to climb the ladder. Ice Man goes to steady the ladder as Phoenix reaches the top, staring down at the announcers' table as the roar of the crowd becomes near deafening once they realize what is about to occur. Not allowing himself even a moment to give this a second thought, Phoenix leaps off of the ten foot ladder as both Jake and Calean scatter, using the additional height to flip before he crashes into Aph, Buford, and the table with a 450 Splash! Caelan Tyler: HOLY SHIT! Jake Steel: ... Caelan Tyler: That's the damnedest thing I've ever seen! Phoenix just sacrificed himself to take Aphrodisia and Buford out of the match! Jake Steel: I... I don't know what to say... The roar of the crowd continues as Ice Man folds up the ladder and slides it into the ring. Ice Man climbs into the apron, but before he could ender the ring he catches a chair to the back. Ice Man drops down, turning to see Kane and he brings the chair down again, cracking it against Ice Man's exposed skull! Dropping the chair, Kane slides into the ring as Jackson grabs Ice Man and delivers Something Wicked directly onto the chair! Ice Man is left prone as Jackson slides into the ring, assisting Kane in setting up the ladder. Caelan Tyler: This is insane, I don't think there's even anyone left to stop Kane and Jackson. Jake Steel: Society was smart, they played possum until they could fully capitalize on the situation, and now they are your tournament winners. Caelan Tyler: Someone can still stop them... Jake Steel: Who?! Everyone's broken into little itty bitty pieces at ringside! The ladder is set up and Jackson begins to climb it as Kane looks over the carnage on the outside. Aph, Buford and Phoenix are all lying in what's now left of the announcers' table, with Ice Man knocked out cold on the chair they used on him. Kane walks over to the other side of the ring, looking at Haywood still in the crumbled ladder. Jackson is almost to the top when Draco slides into the ring, making a beeline to the ladder! Before Draco can stop him though, Kane grabs Draco, dragging him to the match with a Where It Ends, where he holds Draco until Jackson is able to unhook the belts! Zach King: Here are your winners and new NLW Tag Tournament winners... Vincent Kane and Brad Jackson... Society! Caelan Tyler: Draco made a last ditch effort to stop them, but it just wasn't enough, and Society was able to win in one of the damnedest matches I've ever seen. Caelan Tyler: This was definitely a 10 on the Abuse scale! As Jackson drops down and hands the other title to Kane, 'Close Friends' from Adema starts to play. Talon and The Jackrabbit step out from the back, staring down the tournament winners and motioning to their waists. Caelan Tyler: Will Society accept the challenge? We'll find out next Uprising, as we're out of time! See you next show! |
