'Game On' by Discipline begins to play as the words 'NLW' flash across the screen, followed by images of last Uprising, where backstage attacks and happenings lead to the return of Top Dog and 'The Greatness That Is' Jerry Evans. The unorthodox Dude JoB defeated the debuting Eli Young. The Lost Soul defeated Drake Munday before resigning from the NLW. 'Untamed' Nick James pulled off the major upset over The Ice Man while in the main event The Phoenix defeated Skye Ricardo, only to be attacked by the returning 'Venom' Xavier Lux! The scene cuts to ringside, with Caelan Tyler and Jake Steel. Caelan Tyler: Hello and welcome to Uprising! I'm Caelan Tyler, and my scowling member of the No-fun brigade that is seated next to me is Jake Steel. Jake Steel: Hey! Caelan Tyler: We got a great show lined up tonight, with the debuting Dr. Avery Brice taking on 'The Greatness That Is' Jerry Evans, Top Dog taking on Drake Munday, Plague taking on one half of the NLW Tag Team Champions in Talon and in our main event, the team of The Phoenix, X-Terminator and 'Untamed' Nick James will be taking on the FTF! Jake Steel: Man, there better be more abuse this week than there was last Uprising.
Caelan Tyler: There was plenty of good matches last Uprising Jake. Jake Steel: Not from an abuse standpoint there wasn't. The scene opens up on the back of the arena, where the wrestlers and other NLW staff are coming in for the show... You see some fans behind guard rails, hoping to get a glimpse of their favorite superstars and maybe, just maybe, an autograph or two. At the end of the crowd, you see an old man, using a walker to stand up and holding a cup in one of his hands. The man, hunched back, has long gray hair and a beard just as long, and as gray as his hair. As staff and wrestlers are coming in, he's asking them for a donation and to have mercy on him. Most ignore him but some NLW staff give him some spare change. He thanks them, blesses them and waits a little more motivated for the next person to come in. Caelan Tyler: I can't believe Venom's turned on everyone like this...
Jake Steel: It's smart business Cael. If you can't beat 'em, join 'em. Caelan Tyler: ...If you say so Jake... The match starts off slowly, with Brice trying to feel Jerry out and Jerry showing some ring rust from the long layoff. After some back and forth exchanges, Jerry catches Brice with hurricanrana to take control of the match. Jerry starts to show more confidence at this point, and he finishes Brice off with the Jerrific for the three count. Caelan Tyler: Impressive win by Jerry Evans there. Jake Steel: Ugh, NLW does NOT need more crazy flippy guys.
Caelan Tyler: Says you, the fans love them. Jake Steel: Bah! Caelan Tyler: Anyways, Jake, have you heard the news? It's really sad for me to tell the world, my best friend Josh Allen was recently diagnosed with colon cancer. Jake Steel Oddly enough, I did hear that. You know what? Usually I'd make some snide remark here, but cancer isn't something I feel like joking about tonight. I only wonder if it's bad Karma, you know, the way he's been treating people. Caelan Tyler: Well, Josh granted me a sit-down interview just this week where he answered some tough questions about that, and his career, and how they'll interact. Let's take a look. The large screen in the arena glows to life as the other lights fade out. Caelan sits on a barstool with papers in hand while Josh Allen, his NLW Champion, sits in a parallel barstool. He's wearing his usual FTF T-shirt. His hair is dry and untouched, quite unusual for the world champ. Caelan speaks up softly. Caelan Tyler: So you and I go back a long way, and I never would have dreamed you'd come down with something like this. Tell me, Josh ... is this for real, or is this just another FTF gag? Josh Allen: You know, I'm quite tired of you condescending assholes asking that question. Do you know how many reporters have called me or written me and asked if this was just another evil plot? I had to get a new fucking cell phone because my old one wouldn't stop ringing. I also resent you using the words 'come down with this.' It's not like I'm a damned leper or something... Next question. Caelan Tyler: Have you told other FTF members about this? Josh Allen: Of course I have, but I also told them they had no business talking about it outside our circle, and that I don't want to hear it come up. It has no effect on my wrestling career. Got it? None. When we get in the ring for that match on Uprising, I'm still the NLW World Champion Josh Allen. I'm still the best this company has to offer. I'm still the guy who everyone wants to be, but no one can be. Caelan Tyler: And the boss hasn't asked you to relinquish your title in the wake of this diagnosis? Josh Allen: Hell no. Jack knows this doesn't have any effect on me, just like I explained. In fact, this could help business. Think of the advertising dollars, the voice-overs I could do for the company if we were to partner with outside organizations. Sometimes, it's all about money, my friend, and why should this be any different. The FTF is here to stay. I am here to stay. This gold belt is here, on my waist, to stay. With that, the scene cuts back to ringside. Caelan Tyler: Strong words from the champ there, but you have to wonder about his health.
Jake Steel: Why? If he's not concerned I'm not concerned! Caelan Tyler: Still... The lights go out in the arena. After a few moments, 'Jesus of Suburbia' hits the PA as the lights turn back on to reveal Drake Munday standing on the stage, hands on hips, his face dull. He walks slowly down the ramp, soaking in his surroundings. As he finally reaches the end of the ramp, one of the crowd goes an insult too far, Drake hurriedly walks back and exchanges words with the member of the crowd, until one of the officials at last separates them. Drake then climbs up the stairs, into the ring and prepares to start the match. Zach King: The following match is scheduled for one fall! Introducing first, from Green Bay, Wisconsin... Weighing in at 250 pounds... DRAKE MUNDAY! Caelan Tyler: Drake is still looking for his first win in NLW here tonight, as he lost a very close one last Uprising to TLS. Jake Steel: I always feel bad to anyone that loses to that freak. The arena goes dark for a moment and a figure dressed only in black emerges. Some green lights dimly illuminate the arena and entranceway. A sleeveless black shirt with wind pants to match clothe him, and black slicked back hair and black sunglasses complete the ensemble. He looks around to the crowd from the entryway and soaks in the boos, but doesn't respond to them. He slowly heads down the ramp to the ring with his focus completely on the squared circle. Zach King: And his opponent... From Detroit, Michigan... Weighing in at 250 pounds... TOP DOG! Caelan Tyler: Drake will certainly have his work cut out for him tonight, as Top Dog's nickname in the sport is 'The Rookie Killer'. Jake Steel: He's going to break poor Drake in half, I just know it. The bell rings to start the match. Top Dog comes out and tries to catch Drake off guard with a quick clothesline but Drake Munday is able to duck it. Top Dog spins around and is met with a forearm smash which connects but fails to rock him. Drake Munday hits another one before grabbing him by the arm and going to Irish whip him. Top Dog refuses to go... Drake pulls again and this time Top Dog pulls Drake Munday in and takes him down with a short arm clothesline. Drake Munday is rocked as Top Dog slowly picks him up and sets him up for a suplex. He lifts him up and drops him down hard as Drake Munday goes to roll on his stomach before being grabbed by the head and forced to his feet. Top Dog scoops him up and drops him down with a body slam to continue doing damage. Top Dog measures him and drops down with a hard elbow. Drake Munday in pain rolls to the ropes as Top Dog stands back up. Drake Munday pulls himself up by the ropes and walks toward Top Dog. He goes for another forearm but Top Dog blocks it and hits a shot of his own. He kicks Drake Munday in the stomach and sets him up for another suplex attempt. He goes to lift but Drake blocks it. He goes to lift again but Drake blocks it once more. Top Dog brings both of his hands up in a double ax handle and smashes Drake in the back as a second attack. Drake drops to one knee as Top Dog brings it down on his back again rocking him down to both knees. He then backs up a few feet and walks back up and kicks Drake in the side of the head causing him to fall down and roll over. Top Dog goes for the first cover in the match. 1... 2... Kickout! Caelan Tyler: Top Dog dominating early here. Jake Steel: To the surprise of no one, it's Top Dog! He breaks people's faces. Top Dog picks Drake Munday back up and goes to Irish whip him into the ropes as he comes off Top Dog bends down lifts Drake up and sends him in the air with a back body drop. Drake hits the mat and grimaces in pain as he sits up. Top Dog doesn't give him time to rest as he picks him back up and sets him up for a gut wrench suplex. He lifts and nails it perfectly sending Drake crashing into the mat. Top Dog doesn’t go for the pin attempt though and instead stands up bringing Drake Munday back up with him. He Irish whips Drake Munday into the ropes but Drake Munday is able to hold on. Top Dog goes to charge with a clothesline but Drake drops down pulling on the top rope as he goes. Top Dog goes flying over the top rope unable to stop his charge. Top Dog hits the outer edge of the apron on the way down. Drake Munday tries to take a quick breather as Top Dog recovers from his fall. Top Dog is pulling himself up as Drake Munday runs into the ropes charges and goes down with a baseball slide hitting the rising Top Dog and sending him back into the guardrail. Drake Munday is on the outside with Top Dog as the Ref begins his count. The Ref counts one as Drake Munday rams his shoulder into Top Dog. He rams his shoulder again into Top Dog sending his back into the guardrail. The Ref is up to three as Top Dog shoves Drake Munday off of him. He then walks out preparing to attempt some offense as Drake Munday side steps and drop toe holds him face first into the outer apron. Top Dog is down and in pain as Drake Munday gets up and rolls back into the ring at the count of five. The count is up to six as Top Dog pulls himself up. The count is up to seven as Top Dog is on both feet. The count is up to eight as Top Dog rolls into the ring and is met with an immediate leg drop by Drake Munday. Drake Munday rolls him over and goes for a pin attempt but is dismayed to find out Top Dog is in the ropes and the pin attempt won’t count. Drake Munday grabs Top Dog by the arm and drags him to the center of the ring. He picks Top Dog up and twists him into a neck breaker position. He stalls to let Top Dog think about it and then drops down with a neck breaker. He goes for the cover... 1... 2... KICKOUT! The pin attempt failing Drake Munday stands up and stomps on Top Dog. He circles and stomps again. He continues to circle Top Dog stomping him as he goes. Caelan Tyler: Drake has taken control from Top Dog, although he has been able to really capitalize yet. Jake Steel: He better hurry up before TD rips him a new one. He picks Top Dog up and sets him up for a Russian leg sweep. He connects rolling himself so he ends up on top for another pin attempt. 1... 2... Thr... KICKOUT! Another failed attempt at a pin Drake Munday is now standing on his feet. He bends down to pick up Top Dog but Top Dog throws a fist from his back that rocks Drake Munday and causes him to stumble backwards and through the ropes and unto the floor. Top Dog rolls from the ring to the outside keeping to his feet as he touches. Drake Munday is standing again but rocked with a shot to the forehead. Top Dog grabs Drake Munday and goes to Irish Whip him into the post. Drake Munday is able to put on the brakes and stop a few feet short. Drake Munday turns around as Top Dog charges and ducks. Top Dog misses with the clothesline and groans as his arm hits the steel! The Ref is up to five as Drake Munday rolls back in. Top Dog is holding his arm and lying on the ground as the Ref is up to seven. Top Dog grabs the apron with his good arm and pulls himself up and is able to roll in right at nine as Drake Munday begins to stomp on the injured arm. Caelan Tyler: Looks like Top Dog has injured his arm here. Jake Steel: No! Damnit don't leave us, we need your unique brand of badassery here! Drake Munday pulls on the injured arm bring Top Dog to the middle of the ring. He drops a leg drop on the arm. Drake Munday attempts a move he hardly ever does and goes for a cross arm breaker but Top Dog gets his other arm up and locks his knuckles to keep it from being applied. Drake Munday pulls on the arm trying to break it free as much as he can but Top Dog just won't let it happen. Frustrated Drake Munday gives up and releases the attempt and stands up. Top Dog also begins to stand up but as he's on his feet Drake Munday grabs his arm and twists it. He twists it again before jerking on it hard sending Top Dog down to one knee. Drake Munday jerks on it again this time Top Dog gets to both feet and nails Drake Munday with a clothesline from his good arm sending him down to the mat. Top Dog is up on his feet and so is Drake Munday. Top Dog runs and clotheslines him down with his good arm. He waits for Drake Munday to get up and he clothesline him with his good arm again. Drake Munday goes to stand up and Top Dog kicks him in the stomach. Top Dog puts his head under his legs for a power bomb attempt. He wraps his arms around Drake Munday and goes to lift but grimaces as his hurt arm is in to much pain for the move. He releases the attempt and attempts to shake his arm to get feeling in it but Drake Munday springs up with a dropkick right into the arm. Top Dog goes down holding the arm as Drake Munday goes for the pin attempt. 1... 2... SHOULDER UP! Drake Munday stands up and goes to stomp on the arm but Top Dog rolls out of the way. He goes to drop an elbow on the arm but Top Dog rolls out of the way and is now on the outer apron. Caelan Tyler: TD looking to catch a breather. Jake Steel: Good idea! Catch your breath than kick his ass! Top Dog is up on his feet as Drake Munday comes charging but Top Dog catches him by the throat with his good arm and pushes him away. Drake Munday stands on his feet and charges and Top Dog hits an old fashion fist to the face sending Drake Munday stumbling back and unto the mat. Top Dog comes into the ring and approaches Drake Munday. Drake Munday goes for a desperate fist but misses spinning wildly. Top Dog grabs him with one arm and lifts him up and drops him down with a one armed atomic drop. Drake Munday holds his lower back as he turns around and is then met with some power as Top Dog scoops him with one good arm and body slams him to the amazement of the crowd! Top Dog seems to be doing well for himself with one arm as he bends down to pick up Drake Munday. He succeeds and he Irish whips him with one arm. As Drake Munday comes off he attempts to clothesline him but Drake Munday ducks. Drake Munday bounces off the ropes again and Top Dog catches him by the throat with his good arm. Drake Munday realizing what is about to happen kicks Top Dog in the stomach barreling him over. He then runs into the ropes and goes to nail a knee lift but Top Dog rights himself just in time causing the running knee lift to miss. Drake Munday spins around gets caught with the good arm again and this time Top Dog NAILS THE END! Top Dog goes for the cover... 1... 2... 3! The bell rings, and Top Dog rolls off of Drake, staring at his fallen opponent with distain. Zach King: Here is your winner... TOP DOG! Jake Steel: WHOO! Caelan Tyler: Top Dog is victorious here.
Jake Steel: Hell yes! Caelan Tyler: Drake is still win-less though. Jake Steel: Meh. The scene cuts backstage, where Tori Montgomery stands with a microphone in hand. Tori Montgomery: We are backstage and here comes the victor of his match earlier 'The Greatness That Is' Jerry E... Jerry skips hard into the camera view and shouts Jerry Evans: DANGER ZONE DUN DUN DAH! Well what do you know Tori Montgomery first match, first victory, first winning streak has started and lookee there. Not only did I come prepackaged with a title, which is awesome. I am now undefeated in NLW which is doubly awesome! Tori Montgomery: But Jerry, it's only one match. I mean 1-0 is hardly an undefeated record you can bra... Jerry puts a finger up to Tori's lips and then pats her on the head which causes her to give a confused and silent look. Jerry Evans: Hush Tori, lets not ruin this beautiful moment. I mean after all not every wrestler gets to say they are undefeated. I'm not going to lie I wasn't perfect tonight. My timing was a bit off, I was off by a few inches, and I could definitely improve a bit. Tonight I was still Greatness but maybe not Greatness in bold lettering or something like that. It's no problem, a good start is still a good start and things are going to get much better. The fans love me, you love me, I love me, and heck I'm pretty sure somewhere near the cockles Jack Sullivan loves me. Now if you excuse me I’m going to skip to no place in particular just because I want to! Before Tori Montgomery can get another question in Jerry skips away to nowhere in particular. Caelan Tyler: ...Well that was confusing.
Jake Steel: He always is. The arena goes still as the lights go black and a spot light shines on the entrance ramp. It reveals a man standing alone a guitar slung in front of him, wearing a black leather trenchcoat. PLAGUE STANDS ALONE! The figure turns around and slides the pick up the guitar string, creating a loud screech of feedback throughout the arena. 1, 2, 3, 4! AWWWWHHHHA FUCKIN HOSTILE!! The pyros flash behind Plague, creating a wall of sparks and smoke. He begins his way down to the ring, sliding the guitar behind him. The words the PLAGUE HAS STRUCK appear individually on the jumbotron behind him. Almost every day, I see the same face He stops halfway down to the ring and smiles at the crowd, before pulling his shades off and sprinting forward leaping up onto the apron and turns back towards the entrance and jumbotron. It now shows Plague's greatest feats in OWF, ASW and other feds. To see, to bleed, cannot be taught He walks along the apron and climbs onto the right turnbuckle and stares out into the crowd, before stretching his arms out, holding his guitar in his left hand and his right balled into a fist. The truth in right and wrong Plague seamless leaps down from the turnbuckle and walks to the a corner of the ring awaiting the bell as his music fades away into the last chorus. To see, to bleed, cannot be taught Zach King: This match is scheduled for one fall! Introducing first, from Toronto, Ontario, Canada... Weighing in at 200 Pounds... He is the NLW Destiny Champion... PLAGUE! Caelan Tyler: Plague won the Destiny Championship at Turbulence, and I've already heard rumors that people from NLW, OWF, and even some outside talent are gunning for that title. Jake Steel: Sucks to be him, then. The crowd cheers loudly and then 'I Stand Alone' by Godsmack blares across the arena. There's complete black out, then from behind each turnbuckle a spotlight shine into the center of the ring. On the last is Talon, arms out-stretched to his sides, with two lengths of lead piping in his hands. After a moment's pause, Talon jumps into the ring, and paces around, throwing his piping to the turnbuckle. Zach King:: His opponent, standing at 6 foot 8 inches... Weighing in at 280 Pounds... He is one-half of the NLW Tag Team Champions...TALON! Caelan Tyler: Talon has been on a tear recently, defending the Tag Titles against both NLW and OWF talent. Jake Steel: If only we could understand how the hell he speaks! The bell sounds to get us underway, the crowd seemingly split between both wrestlers. Collar-and-elbow tie-up, and Talon exercises his power advantage as he maneuvers Plague back into the corner before breaking clean on the referee's orders. Back to the center of the ring we go, and Talon again goes for the grapple, but Plague ducks underneath of it, comes behind Talon and locks in a quick hammerlock. The Tag Champion tries for a back elbow, but the Destiny Champion ducks it and backs away, staying out of the reach of Talon and his power arsenal. Caelan Tyler: Plague showing good awareness in staying away from Talon in the early going. Jake Steel: But he's denying me abuse! Boo! Cautiously, Plague moves back to the center, where Talon is waiting. Plague once again ducks the tie-up attempt, but as goes to take advantage Talon is charging in with a clothesline. Plague ducks as Talon goes past, and then goes off his feet to hit a dropkick to the back that sends the bigger man to the outside. Talon is quick to get off his knees and try to figure out a plan to stop the faster-moving Plague as the referee begins his ten-count. Caelan Tyler: Talon trying to slow the pace down here, which is to his advantage. Jake Steel: No, Cael, Talon's trying to put me to sleep! In no true danger of being counted out, Talon stretches the count to five before rolling back into the ring under the bottom rope. As he starts to stand, Plague comes in looking for an elbow drop to the back but Talon rolls away, letting Plague catch nothing but mat on that exchange. Both men are up at the same time, and Talon takes the initiative with a hard right hand that staggers Plague back into the corner. Methodically, The Hunter comes in and whips the Destiny Champion across the ring, letting the impact of Plague slamming into the turnbuckles do the work for him as Plague drops like a stone, holding his back. A moment later, Plague is pulled back to his feet by Talon and whipped again into the turnbuckles, but this time the impact is so hard that Plague is sent over the ropes and to the outside, bouncing off the ring apron on the way to the mats below. Jake Steel: Damn...that was a sight for sore eyes! Do it again! Caelan Tyler: Plague may be in deep trouble here; can Talon press the advantage? As Plague goes to stand up, Talon leaves the ring on the adjacent side, forcing the count to restart as the Tag Champion comes around the corner. As he comes with reach of Plague, however, the Destiny Champion spins around and hits a clothesline that catches Talon off-guard enough to send him to the floor! The referee's count is up to three as Plague puts the boots to his larger opponent, taking advantage of the opportunity to inflict damage. As Talon starts to get back to a vertical base, though, Plague rolls back inside the ring as the ref's count hits six. Caelan Tyler: Plague working a hit-and-run style match, a smart move given the size differential. Jake Steel: More like a coward's way out.... Talon is a bit slower to return to the ring, but finally manages to get in as the ref gets to an eight count. Before he can get his bearings, though, Plague is right on top of him in a mount position, raining down right hands on his opponent. In a moment of desperation, Talon grabs hold of the bottom rope, forcing the break. Taking up to the count of four, Plague finally breaks the mount and steps back, waiting for Talon to get to his feet. The Tag Champion manages to do so, but quite shakily in the process, before being sent down again by a low kick to the back of the knees. The ref comes over to physically force Plague away from Talon as he tries to get back up, but the Destiny champion sidesteps the official and smashes Talon's head into the turnbuckle a couple of times to drop the big man. Cover by Plague early gets a long one as Talon easily gets the shoulder up. Caelan Tyler: Far too early to end the match as Talon powers out of the cover. Jake Steel: Dammit... Plague is back to a vertical base, continuing to rain down boots on Talon as he struggles to get to his feet. The big man finally gets up, forcing Plague to decide on a new course of action as he comes off the ropes. Plague looks for Infected, his version of the spear, but Talon sidesteps just slightly and uses Plague's own momentum to deliver a gutwrench suplex that stuns the Destiny Champion! Both men are down, but Talon seems to be in the better shape as he rolls onto his stomach before pushing himself back to his feet. Plague is still on dream street as the Tag Champion hauls him to his feet and hoists him high into the air in a Gorilla Press slam before throwing him forward onto the mat! Plague clutches his stomach and rib area as Talon stalks back in. Caelan Tyler: Talon using his power to his advantage, as he has taken control of this match in a hurry! Jake Steel: Good, time for the abuse to begin! Talon tries to pull Plague to his feet again, but the Destiny Champion lets off a short forearm to the stomach to stop that. A second follows this to cause some separation. Plague takes a step back before running in for a clothesline, but Talon reverses it into a high-impact sidewalk slam! Cover by the Tag Champion: 1... 2... Plague gets a foot in the ropes to stop the count. Without much of a pause, Talon picks his opponent up and drives him back to the mat with a powerslam. The Enigmatic One holds for a cover, but only nets two. Caelan Tyler: Plague still in too good of a shape to go down this early, as he's able to escape. Jake Steel: To the shock of everyone... Talon senses that he's in control. The look in his eyes screams 'hunter stalking his prey.' And as Plague goes to stand up, Talon is ready for him. A kick to the gut precedes a double underhook position, as Talon lifts his opponent up for the Hunter's Instinct. However, Plague has the wherewithal to slide down the back and into a modified Sunset Flip that he can't quite finish. Talon bends down, looking for a punch to the face of Plague, but the Destiny Champion slides out of the way, as Talon hits the mat instead! The Tag Champ tries to shake some feeling back into his hand, but leaves his backside open to a Dropkick from Hell that sends Talon staggering sternum-first into the turnbuckles. Talon stumbles back around, and Plague hooks him up for a Lethal Injection! That took a little toll on Plague as well, as both men are down on the mat. Caelan Tyler: Plague with the desperation move, and now it's a matter of who can get to their feet first. Jake Steel: Is it too much to ask for a double countout, Cael? Caelan Tyler: Yes, Jake. Yes it is. The ref begins his count, as both men try to recover. Talon seems to be in the better condition due to being on the offense over the last few minutes, as he begins to make his way to his feet. The count reaches five as Talon grabs hold of the ropes to get up. Plague is starting to stir at this point. A count later, Talon is up to his knees as Plague is on all fours. At seven, Talon has re-established his vertical base and closes in on Plague. A right-handed body blow puts a quick stop to the advancement. A second follows this, allowing Plague to get back to his feet. A haymaker to the temple rocks Talon back on his heels, and Plague grabs the head of the Tag Champion and drives him to the mat with a reverse DDT. Cover by Plague: 1... 2... Kickout at two and a half! Caelan Tyler: Plague with a stiff reverse DDT, but unable to hold Talon down on that occasion. Jake Steel: Dammit, Caelan, this is getting old. When is this match going to end? Plague is back on his feet, waiting for Talon to leave himself in a vulnerable position. As Talon tries to stand, Plague drops an elbow on the small of the back to send Talon back to the mat. A second follows this before Plague mounts Talon and starts to rain down punches to the temples and the back of Talon's head. Talon is able to roll Plague off of him due to his power and size advantage, but gets caught by a low dropkick from Plague to send him back to the outside. As the referee begins to exercise his ten-count, movement can be seen from the top of the entrance ramp. Caelan Tyler: Wait a minute, that's NOTHING, a new signing for NLW. Jake Steel: Seriously, that's his name? Caelan Tyler: Yep. Jake Steel: That's as bad as ???, I think.... Talon gets back into the ring, still a bit out of it as Plague closes in. A forearm rocks Talon, and Plague sets him for a whip across the ring. Talon reverses the whip as Plague goes into the ropes, and is nearly decapitated on the rebound by a vicious clothesline! NOTHING has made his way to ringside, his eyes focused on the action in front of him. Plague is slow to get up, but as he does Talon bounces off the ropes and nails Bloody Talons on Plague! The Destiny champion is down as Talon heads outside, no doubt looking for Death From Above. Plague is still down as Talon balances on the top rope, sizing up his opponent. With a slight nod, Talon leaps...but Plague rolls aside, as Talon misses! Plague is slow to get to his feet, now firmly in control. Caelan Tyler: Can Plague pull off what may be considered an upset here? Jake Steel: Does it look like I care? Caelan Tyler: ... Talon seems to be on Dream Street as Plague grabs hold, looking maybe to unleash an Outbreak on the Tag Champion...but gets lambasted by a clothesline from NOTHING, who has slid into the ring while the ref's attention was diverted! The referee immediately calls for the bell, as NOTHING gets in a mount position and rains down lefts and rights on the Destiny Champion. Plague is able to roll NOTHING off of him and rains down right hands himself for a few seconds before officials come out of the locker room and separate the two wrestlers despite them trying to get back at each other. Zach King: The winner of this match, as a result of a disqualification... PLAGUE! Caelan Tyler: So NOTHING draws the DQ victory for Plague here. Jake Steel: Talon must be PISSED.
Caelan Tyler: No doubt, I know I would be. The scene cuts backstage, where Jack Sullivan sits in his office. Jack Sullivan: Alright, I guess it's time I get to the ring to announce the main event for... Voice: No dice Jack. The door swings open, and the fans immediately begin to cheer when it's revealed to be none other than the former NLW president Eriq Mobely! Eriq Mobely: Been quite a while. Jack Sullivan: Eriq! What the hell, you're not supposed-- Eriq Mobely: Hold on now Jack, got an important message for you. Eriq hands Jack and envelope. Jack looks at it cautiously before ripping it open and reading the letter inside. Jack Sullivan: Wait... Eriq Mobely: Yes Jack, that is exactly what you think it is. The share holders aren't happy with you. Jack Sullivan: But this is my show! Eriq Mobely: Was Jack, was. With all your self-promotion and pushing of your FTF buddies down the fans' throats you failed to realize that while you do run the day to day in NLW, you aren't the majority owner of NLW. A vote was had this morning. They've appointed someone else to handle the booking of this show. Jack Sullivan: ...NO... Eriq Mobely: Yes. I'm looking forward to working with you again Jack. Oh, and your main event for Blackout? Kiss it goodbye. I'm booking a new one next Uprising. Eriq leaves the office, leaving Jack steaming. Shaking his head, Jack grabs a nearby chair and chucks it across the room as the scene cuts back to ringside. Caelan Tyler: Eriq's back! Jake Steel: Oh God...
Caelan Tyler: He was often controversial when he was in charge of NLW, so I wonder what will happen now. Jake Steel: Nothing good... The camera cuts to backstage, where we see the figure of The Phoenix sitting on a bench, making adjustments to his gear. It's eerily quiet inside the locker room as he prepares for the main event. Not a word is said by the big man as he doesn't even acknowledge the camera. Caelan Tyler: He told you Jake. Jake Steel: Bah!
Caelan Tyler: This has been a crazy night so far, so I can't even imagine how this will go. Jake Steel: Poorly for Phoenix I hope. 'Oh Canada' starts to fill the arena, and the fans start to cheer as the Legacy Champion X-Terminator and the young 'Untamed' Nick James appear on the entrance ramp. The two exchange high fives and take in the cheers of the crowd before making their way to the ring. Zach King: The following match is a six man tag and it is scheduled for one fall! Introducing first, at a combined weight of 403 pounds... Hailing from the Great White North... They are 'Untamed' Nick James and the reigning Legacy Champion X-Terminator... THE MOTHER CANUCKERS! Caelan Tyler: These men struck up a partnership after X-Terminator defended his Legacy Championship against Nick James back in December, and the fans have certainly taken a liking to them. Jake Steel: I haven't. Caelan Tyler: Neither has Venom, who attacked Nick earlier in the broadcast. The lights in the arena go dark, remaining so for a few moments before a dim red light illuminates the arena. The opening strains of 'The Instinct' hit the arena, but before they could build they are replaced by 'Numb' by Linkin Park. As that song starts to build, fire shoots from each of the ring corners. The song continues to build in volume for another twenty seconds of so before another large flame pyro goes off at the entryway. As it dies down, a figure can be seen in the smoky haze walking towards the ring as Zach King makes the introduction. Zach King: And their tag partner... from the End of Nowhere, weighing 365 pounds... He is the current OWF Public Display of Aggression Champion... this is THE PHOENIX! There is no emotion on Phoenix's face, just solid determination as he walks to the steps, pauses for a brief moment, and sends a shout to the heavens before climbing in the ring. The lights finally revert back to normal as he pulls on the ropes a couple of times for good measure before handing his title to a NLW official and waiting for the bell. Caelan Tyler: These three are no doubt looking forward to this match after what was pulled on them last Uprising. Jake Steel: They should've expected the swerve. Caelan Tyler: It's not a swerve if you expect it Jake. Jake Steel: Psh. The words 'Fuck the fans!' echo throughout the arena, causing a massive amount of boos as 'Here to Stay' starts to play, and the team of The Ice Man, 'Venom' Xavier Lux, and Josh Allen make their way down the entrance ramp. All three men ignore the vitriol in the air, instead focusing on their opponents. They enter the ring, staring down Phoenix and the CaNuckers. Zach King: And their opponents, weighing in at a combined weight of 721 pounds.. They are 'Venom' Xavier Lux, the Anarchy X Champion The Ice Man, and the NLW Champion Josh Allen... THE FTF! Caelan Tyler: One has to wonder how prepared these men are after the events of earlier tonight. Jake Steel: Against the pushovers they have to face? Very I'd say. The bell rings, and the various members of each team exit the ring, leaving X-Terminator and 'Venom' Xavier Lux to start the match off. The two lock up in the middle of the ring, with X-Terminator quickly delivering a knee to break the tie-up. He then follows it up with several stiff jabs, backing Venom up into a neutral corner. Once there, X-Terminator delivers a shoulder thrust to Venom's midsection. X-T then lines Xavier up, nailing him across the chest with a knife-edged chop. A loud 'WOOO!' echoes through the crowd as X-T repeats the attack. Caelan Tyler: X-Terminator just lighting the returning Venom up here with those chops. Jake Steel: I'm so torn here. Caelan Tyler: Why? Jake Steel: It's Venom... But he's on the right side for once... but it's Venom... Caelan Tyler: Oh yes, the difficult moral dilemmas that you face every day Jake. X-T wraps his arm around Venom's head with a front facelock as he drags the three time NLW champion out of the corner. X-T quickly tries to execute a DDT, but Venom is able to spin himself, shoving X-T into the corner. X-T slams back-first into the turnbuckle hard before quickly starting to stomp X-Terminator in the gut. The referee quickly starts a 5 count, causing Venom to break off at 4 before getting into the referee's face about it. X-T starts to get to his feet as Venom breaks it off from the ref, causing Venom to line up his shot before delivering an elbow across the back of X-T's head and neck. Caelan Tyler: Venom quickly turned that situation around, and now he's starting to work over the Legacy champion. Jake Steel: That belt would look pretty nice in the FTF camp. Caelan Tyler: Perhaps, but wouldn't that mean Venom would need to hold the belt? Jake Steel: ...Ugh don't remind me... Lux delivers a stiff right to X-T's temple before dragging him over to the corner and hitting a snap suplex on X-Terminator before tagging in Josh Allen. Allen, seeing his opening, uses the top rope to slingshot himself into the ring, crashing into X-T with a flipping senton. Always the opportunist, Allen quickly makes a pin: 1... 2... No, X-T gets his shoulder up! Caelan Tyler: Josh Allen tried to take advantage of the opening there, although you have to wonder the wisdom of going for a move like that with the health concerns he's facing. Jake Steel: I question the wisdom of him thinking people would want to see him wrestle period. Caelan Tyler: Hater. Jake Steel: Yep! Pulling X-T to his feet, Allen gives him a chop across the chest before applying a side headlock, attempting to wrestle the Legacy Champion to the mat. X-Terminator shoves himself loose, sending Allen bouncing off of the ropes and greeting him with a clothesline upon his return. With Allen down, X-T quickly goes across the ring, tagging in The Phoenix. The crowd roars in approval as The Phoenix enters the ring, looking forward to finally getting to see those two lock up in a NLW ring. Before Phoenix can get to him though, Josh Allen, perhaps wisely, tags in The Ice Man. Caelan Tyler: Josh Allen didn't seem like he wanted anything to do with The Phoenix, who has established himself as the primary challenger for the NLW Championship. Jake Steel: Ugh, Josh Allen versus The Phoenix? That would be a ratings disaster. Caelan Tyler: I think it would be an amazing match Jake. Jake Steel: At least when Phoenix faced Skye Ricardo you knew going into it that one would suck and the other would blow, for this you wouldn't know what to expect. Caelan Tyler: ... The Phoenix taunts Ice Man to bring it, and Ice Man quickly obliges, resulting in the two men trading rights in the center of the ring. Ice Man cuts Phoenix off with a European uppercut, and quickly follows it up with a scoop slam on the OWF PDA Champion. Phoenix quickly gets to his feet, only for Ice Man to blast him with a shoulderblock. Getting to his feet, Phoenix watches as Ice Man bounces off of the ropes charging back towards him. Phoenix quickly drops down, catching Ice Man with a drop toe hold that he tries to transition into the Blaze of Glory. Realizing the danger, Ice Man reaches out, grabbing the bottom rope and forcing Phoenix to release the hold, much to the crowd's chagrin. Caelan Tyler: The Phoenix went for the Blaze of Glory, but Ice Man able to escape the hold. I'm sure the person Phoenix really wants to put that on isn't his former tag partner but the NLW Champion Josh Allen. Jake Steel: I, for one, hope that never happens. Actually, better yet, I hope they both fall over dead in the ring when the bell rings to that match. Caelan Tyler: Jake! I know you're an asshole, but wishing death upon someone else? That's low, even for you. Jake Steel: No, low would be the ratings to that match. Sad thing is I bet Eriq Mobely has that in mind too. Damn that guy! Caelan Tyler: We won't know till next Uprising what he has in mind for the NLW Championship match at Blackout. Jake Steel: It'll suck. I'm calling it right now. Ice Man quickly gets to his feet, with Phoenix swiftly introducing his elbows to the side of Ice's head as he does so. Once up, Ice Man uses an elbow of his own delivered to Phoenix's gut to buy him a second to breathe before drilling Phoenix with a haymaker that staggers the big man. Ice Man then follows that up with a massive spinebuster, causing the audience to make an audible wincing noise upon impact. When he notices this, Ice Man goes to the ropes, taunting the front row and drawing their jeers. As he does this, Phoenix uses the ropes on the other side to pull himself to a vertical base. Noticing that his opponent is up, Ice Man charges him. The Phoenix has other plans though, catching Ice Man off-guard with an overhead belly to belly that sends the Anarchy X Champion crashing to the outside! Caelan Tyler: Massive belly to belly by Phoenix! Jake Steel: That belly is certainly-- Caelan Tyler: Give the fat jokes a rest Jake. Jake Steel: Never! Caelan Tyler: Would a little creativity kill you? Jake Steel: ...Just a little inside yes. Caelan Tyler: *Sighs* The crowd is on their feet as Ice Man is on the outside, attempting to regain his composure. This momentary lapse in awareness by Ice leaves him forgetting that he landed on the outside nearest to his opponents, a fact that isn't lose on the young Nick James. Nick quickly measures the distance and takes flight, grabbing Ice Man's head and using his momentum to slam the Anarchy X Champion head-first into the ringside barricade! Ice Man's skull bounces off of the barricade upon impact, and Ice Man quickly falls to the floor, cradling his head as the young high flyer's momentum tossed him into the front row. A 'Holy shit!' chant breaks out with the crowd as they move to give Nick some space. Inside the ring, Venom quickly enters to take Ice Man's place, trading blows with The Phoenix. Caelan Tyler: What an impressive aerial display by Nick James there, that might've just taken Ice Man out of the match! Jake Steel: He could've also taken out some fans with that show of stupidity! What is he trying to do, get us sued? Caelan Tyler: He's trying to win the match for his team Jake. Jake Steel: How? By forcing NLW to close because of lawsuits? Man, teenagers these days are just stupid. Caelan Tyler: The fans cleared out Jake, it's okay. Jake Steel: Maybe this time, but next time? Who knows... Inside the ring, The Phoenix gets the upper-hand on Venom, quickly delivering a tear drop suplex. With Venom on the mat Phoenix grabs onto the leg that Venom had injured in the car accident that kept him sidelined for all these months, slamming it into the mat. Xavier yelps in pain as Phoenix repeats the move before shifting to lift the two time Path of Destiny tournament winner to his feet. Phoenix quickly applies a waistlock on Lux before delivering a german suplex, bridging the move for a pin: 1... 2... No, kickout by Lux! Caelan Tyler: This night has the real potential to be a treat for the fans. Not only might they get to see The Phoenix and Josh Allen lock up, they also get to see the match that was denied them due to Xavier Lux's car accident. Jake Steel: The fans should be thankful they were spared that to begin with. As much as it pains me to say it, Venom would've beaten the holy hell outta Phoenix. Caelan Tyler: One never knows since that was so long ago, but right now it looks like Phoenix is handling facing the former champ just fine. Jake Steel: Give it time. He'll screw this up somehow. He always does. Before Caelan can object to Jake's comment his attention is drawn back to the ring, where The Phoenix has an armbar applied to Xavier. Lux yells out in pain as The Phoenix pulls on the hold, trying to wrench his arm out of its socket. Across the ring, The Ice Man finally gets back into his corner on the ring apron, blood streaming down his face from the gash that was opened up by Nick James' move. Nick James is also in his corner by this point, waiting for the possible tag. Ice Man, no doubt upset about the wound, enters the ring, forcing the referee to ignore the match and get him out. Phoenix looks over, and Venom uses the distraction to his advantage by poking Phoenix in the eye. Ice Man quickly exits the ring with a grin on his face, prompting Nick James to try to enter to help Phoenix. The referee cuts him off though, and Nick tries to plead with the referee to let him in as Venom forces The Phoenix into the corner, where the three FTFers in the match start to work Phoenix over. Caelan Tyler: This is totally what I'd expect out of the FTF, distracting the referee so Venom can get in some cheap shots. Jake Steel: Can't argue with success Cael. Caelan Tyler: That's not allowed! Jake Steel: Whatever the referee doesn't know can't hurt him. Caelan Tyler: What kind of logic is that?! Jake Steel: My kind of logic. Caelan Tyler: *Sighs* Of course... After beating down on Phoenix a bit, Venom tags in Josh Allen, who enters the ring with a smile on his face as he delivers a smooth implant DDT on Phoenix, planting him in the center of the ring. Josh Allen then hooks the leg: 1... 2... No! Nick James is able to swoop in and break up the pin! The referee makes Nick James exit the ring as Josh Allen stomps on Phoenix, trying to soften up the PDA Champ some more. Phoenix gets himself onto his knees, looking up as Josh Allen bounces off of the ropes and delivers a shining wizard! Again, the NLW Champion goes for the pin: 1... 2... No, this time X-Terminator breaks it up! Caelan Tyler: Josh Allen keeps trying for the pin attempts, but the Mother CaNuckers will have none of it. Jake Steel: Good God that is such a terrible name. Caelan Tyler: What? Mother CaNuckers? Jake Steel: God yes. Last thing wrestling needs, a Canada pun. Caelan Tyler: Well I think it's pretty clever. Jake Steel: You would. Frustrated by the saves, Josh Allen goes to the opposing corner, drilling X-Terminator with a cheap shot to the head. Before Nick James can retaliate the referee gets in the way, with Josh Allen yelling at Nick all the while. Phoenix uses the time this buys him wisely, and has gotten to his feet, the crowd roaring back to life as he does so. He makes his move, grabbing Josh Allen and delivering a back drop driver that leaves the champ lying prone in the ring. Phoenix falls over as well, and the crowd starts a 'Phoenix!' chant hoping that he gets to his feet first. The referee starts counting as both men are down, with their tag partners egging them on to go for the tag. Phoenix manages to get up first, tagging in 'Untamed' Nick James. Nick quickly rushes into the ring as Josh Allen gets to his feet, hitting an arm drag on the champ. Allen pops back up, and Nick again hits an arm drag. Allen gets back to his feet, only to be greeted by the bottom of Nick's boots as he catches Allen right in the kisser with a dropkick! Caelan Tyler: Nick James is in the match now, and you can just see the pace immediately pick way up upon his entrance. Jake Steel: That high risk style is going to catch up with him, all it takes is one wrong move and BAM! In a wheelchair for life. Caelan Tyler: James can be a bit reckless in the ring, I'll certainly grant you that, but I think he's going to have a long, successful career ahead of him. Jake Steel: Me? I'm predicting Hayabusa Part Deux. Not wanting to deal with an opponent who perhaps trumps him in speed, Josh Allen slides out of the ring, drawing boos from the crowd as he circles the ring. James slides out of the ring in pursuit, causing Allen to run and slide back in, charging to his corner and tagging in The Ice Man. Nick James slides into the ring, unaware that the tag was made when the bloodied behemoth levels him with a lariat from behind. Nick pops back to his feet, and Ice Man drills him with a knee to the midsection before lifting him up with a military press that sends Nick crashing 8 feet down to the mat. Nick clutches his midsection in pain as Ice Man drags him to his feet, whipping him to the ropes. Ice Man then positions himself for a back body drop. Nick notices this as he bounces back and catches Ice Man in the head with a dropkick. Ice Man falls over, clutching the wound on his forehead as Nick James decides to go high risk, climbing to the top rope. Venom quickly uses this time to make his presence felt, charging along the apron and shoving Nick off of the top turnbuckle to the outside. Caelan Tyler: Nick James' explosiveness allowed him to escape the trap the FTF has planned for him, but going high risk might've cost him there. Jake Steel: Stupid rookie mistake there. He just picked the wrong corner to climb up, and it will probably cost him dearly. Caelan Tyler: That's very possible. Jake Steel: I hope we see more abuse! Those high flyers always make the best rag dolls! Caelan Tyler: ... Wanting to buy Nick some time, X-Terminator enters the ring, quickly attacking Ice Man and continuing the assault on the wound on his head. Outside of the ring, James struggles to his feet as Venom walks over to him. Venom then grabs the young man, whipping him into the ring steps and sending him tumbling over. The referee is too distracted by the carnage inside the ring to notice this event, as X-Terminator continues to pummel Ice Man, opening the cut further with each jab. Venom decides to use this to his advantage, grabbing the young high flyer and setting him up for a crucifix powerbomb! The Phoenix goes to try to assist his partner, but Josh Allen bounces off of the ropes and takes to the air, catching Phoenix with an Asai moonsault! With Phoenix down Venom quickly executes the move, slamming Nick back-first to the floor with the powerbomb! The crowd boos loudly as Nick James curls up into a fetal position, hopefully protected from any serious injury by the protective mat he landed on. Caelan Tyler: This match has just taken an ugly turn here folks, with X-Terminator turning it into a bloodbath inside the ring and Venom delivering a sick move to Nick James outside of it. Jake Steel: Whoo! Abuse! Now THAT is what I am talking about! Caelan Tyler: Ugh... Inside the ring, the referee forces X-Terminator to break away from The Ice Man before checking Ice Man to make sure he can still go on after all the blood loss. Ice is wearing a crimson mask at this point, and X-Terminator backs up, waiting for his opening. Distracted by this, X-T fails to notice that Venom has slid into the ring, and the former champion quickly delivers an uppercut that will have X-T singing soprano for some time. The crowd roars in dismay as the Legacy Champion doubles over, and Venom quickly exits the ring to await the tag from Ice Man. Caelan Tyler: That was completely uncalled for! Jake Steel: Hey, X-T was trying to take out his partner. Fair is fair. Caelan Tyler: ...Damnit I hate when you have an argument. Jake Steel: Sucks doesn't it? Ice Man is still a tad out of it from the blood loss, but he's able to tag in the fresh Venom, who quickly pulls X-T up and whips him into the ropes. The Legacy Champion bounces back, and Venom nails him with Infection, dropping X-T like a bad habit. Smelling the in water, Venom quickly drags X-T up before lifting him with a gutwretch and delivering his new Venomous finisher! X-T isn't moving in the center of the ring as Venom goes to cover him. Outside of the ring Phoenix tries to slide in, but Ice Man grabs him and yanks him back: 1... 2... 3! The fans boo loudly as Venom stands up, raising his own arm in victory. Zach King: Here are your winners... THE ICE MAN, JOSH ALLEN AND 'VENOM' XAVIER LUX! Caelan Tyler: Thanks to several cheap moves by the returning Xavier Lux the FTF was able to pull this one out. Jake Steel: At least they delivered with the abuse at the end. Outside of the ring, Josh Allen and The Ice Man continue to assault The Phoenix before sliding into the ring to join Venom. The boos suddenly shift to cheers, and the FTF looks up in confusion before noticing that The Lost Soul is standing on the entrance ramp. The fans begin to chant 'TLS! TLS!' Caelan Tyler: What's he doing here? I thought he quit? He showed up on GCWA's PPV last week as El Phantasmo, I thought he was done with NLW. Jake Steel: You watched GCWA's Pay Per View? Caelan Tyler: Of course, I respect The Accelerator and what he's done for this sport. Jake Steel: Bah!. You might as well just quit and join GCWA like that quitter TLS. As they watch TLS, the man does nothing but stare back at them. The excitement of the crowd dies down as they realize that he's just standing there. Caelan Tyler: I don't understand. What's his deal? Jake Steel: He's a lunatic. The guy is nuts, he probably showed up here thinking he was at a GCWA event. Suddenly, the image of Jack Sullivan appears on the jumbotron, looking quite pissed off. Jake Steel: What the hell are you doing in here? I told security to keep you out, you quit. TLS just continues to stare. By this point, X-Terminator has begun to stir in the ring, and Josh Allen and Ice Man start to attack him. Venom, looking annoyed that his moment of glory was interrupted, exits the ring making a beeline towards TLS. TLS responds in kind, rushing towards the ring. Caelan Tyler: Looks like this is going to get ugly here folks. Jake Steel: Yes! More ABUSE~! Venom goes to deliver a clothesline on TLS, but TLS ducks under and decks him in the side of the head. Venom stumbles back, a cut now opened on his head. Caelan Tyler: Look! TLS has a pair of brass knucks! Caelan Tyler: Oh snap! TLS quickly whips Venom into the security barricade as both Phoenix and Nick James roll into the ring. TLS quickly follows suit, and wisely the other members of the FTF exit the ring, narrowly escaping the attack. Caelan Tyler: FTF is bailing, but where's security? TLS isn't under contract anymore. Caelan Tyler: Aww, I was hoping for more carnage... TLS stares at the FTF as they exit before turning his attention to Nick James and The Phoenix, who are helping X-Terminator to his feet. The Phoenix turns to face The Lost Soul, and the two men stare at each other. Caelan Tyler: I wonder what the hell is going through TLS's mind right now. Jake Steel: Knowing him probably a whole lot of nothing. TLS glances down at the brass knuckles still on his hand before blasting The Phoenix with them! The Phoenix falls back, and Nick James quickly shifts to cut off TLS from attacking any further. Caelan Tyler: He just hit The Phoenix now! Caelan Tyler: YES! This is glorious! Nick James stares daggers at TLS as he stands in a guarded position. TLS reaches into his back pocket, pulling out a microphone. The Lost Soul: For the Fans. For the Fallen. Fuck the Fans. Fat Turkey Phoenix. They all mean the same to me. Nick goes to attack TLS, but TLS exits the ring before he can. TLS stares at him for a moment before exiting through the crowd just a split second before the security reaches ringside to get him. Caelan Tyler: This doesn't make any sense at all, TLS just attacked both sides! Jake Steel: Fat man got what he deserved. Caelan Tyler: I don't know if I'd say that, but we're out of time folks, see you next Uprising! |
