Intended Show: Uprising 14

Ice (Voice Over): It all started two weeks ago.

The Ice Man stands on the shore of a lake, the rising sun reflecting off the calm surface of the water.

Ice (Voice Over): I agreed to help my friend Jay out with a job. Of course he failed to mention that the person who had called him had specifically requested my presence. It was obviously a set up, but we didn't know what kind of set up until we found the camera. I'm assuming there were more cameras around the house, but we didn't stick around to find out.

After bending down and filling a large jug with water from the lake The Ice Man stuffs it in a bag at his feet and throws the bag over his shoulder. Ice then turns and begins to make his way through the thick underbrush and trees that are a few yards from the edge of the water.

Ice (Voice Over): So now I am here, in the middle of the woods at a secluded lake. It's not on any maps and there are no roads in. I know that somebody has been watching me, and they know that. It seems that they have the upper hand, at least as far as information goes. They left me no choice. Until I figure out who they are I'll be staying here in these woods, next to the lake that doesn't exist. Let them try and find me here.

After twenty minutes of trekking through the woods The Ice Man finally arrives back at his camp. After removing his backpack he reaches inside it and pulls out the jug of water, emptying it into a large pot and placing it on his campfire. As he sat down and watch the water, waiting for it to boil, he once again began to think about his current predicament.

He began to think about the one problem with his plan to stay out here: they could get him at uprising. In fact he had been expecting it after his match last Uprising, but nothing happened. Now he would have to leave these woods again in a little under two weeks' time. Unfortunately this was something he would have to do, he had to defend the NLW Championship against Vincent Kane, and there's no way he would miss that.

Society had been terrorizing him, and the entire NLW for that matter, for far too long. Now with the addition of Danny Boy Vegas it seemed that it might be easier to just get out of their way. That is why The Ice Man stood fast. He was never one to take the easy way out, no matter what the odds against him. Sure his upcoming match would only be against Vincent Kane, but he knew all too well how people like Society like to stick together, and Ice had a feeling that they may feel like giving Kane a little bit of outside assistance. What they didn't know however, was that Ice was very much prepared for such an event.

Three men stood around a table, staring at the map ion front of them. On the map five pins had been placed. The first one pointed to was one in the heart of New York City. As the man points at it a file folder is dropped onto the table next to the map, in it a picture of Joey, Ice's lawyer and brother-in-law.

Man: He is here, in his penthouse. He knows we will be coming for him, but it seems he doesn't care enough to run. I have a feeling he will even come peacefully.

The man points at another pin. This one is near Phoenix, Arizona. This time a folder is dropped containing a picture of Jay Sloan, private eye.

Man: This one was actually pretty smart. He ran to a place that you would never expect a man to go, he is currently living on his ex-wife's couch. I think he may actually be relieved if we take him out of there.

The man points to the next two pins, which are placed right next to each other near Portland. Pictures of Matt and James fall to the table this time.

Man: These two should be simple, but we have to get them at the same time, otherwise the other one will catch on and we'll have a hell of a time trying to get him.

Finally the man in charge points to the last pin which is in southern Oregon, in the middle of nowhere. The nearest city to the pin appears to be at least fifty miles away, and there are no roads marked on the map anywhere near the pin itself. The final folder is dropped onto the table. This folder has many pictures in it, all of the same person, all of The Ice Man.

Man: This is the one we really want. I doubt some of the others will be of any help, but between this one and the first one we should be able to get what we need. However this one will be tricky. According to our source he is probably out in this area. There are no paved roads in, and the dirt roads run out leaving a seven mile hike up to the lake, which as you can see isn't even on the map. He was smart, it gives him the advantage of knowing when we are coming, and moving when the time is right. However he didn't think about one thing, we have helicopters. I will advise everybody to use caution, as he may try and fight back.

With those words the men around the table shake hands and walk away, all making phone calls in preparation for the coming night.

Joey stands in his penthouse, a pool cue in one hand and a glass of scotch in the other. He takes a sip of the scotch and sets the glass down before leaning over the pool table and taking a shot. After the ball drops into the pocket he slowly makes his way around to the other side of the table, studying the lay of the table. He contemplates a combo shot for a moment but then decides to just put the seven in the side pocket. Joey leans down over the table, beginning to aim.

Suddenly the door breaks down, the windows shatter, and men begin to flood the room, guns raised. Joey doesn't flinch; he simply takes his shot and picks up the glass of scotch. He takes a sip and then looks around the room, still as calm as ever.

Joey: Well it's about time you assholes showed up. At any rate I am in the middle of a game and a glass of scotch here, so you guys will have to wait until I am done.

The men look around the room at each other. Was this guy serious? After a few moments filled with uncertainty the man in charge of the group makes a phone call. After a few seconds on the phone he puts it away and shrugs his shoulders, telling Joey to at least hurry up.

Jay Sloan hated his life right now. As he lay on the couch, trying to get to sleep, a voice filled his head. A voice that made him contemplate letting whoever was out there kill him. No, he wasn't going crazy, nor was this one of those disembodied voices that give people advice. No this voice was very real. As his ex-wife continued droning on about her day Jay finally knew what it felt like to wish for death.

That's when he was saved. He had his eyes closed so he didn't see what happened, but he sure as hell heard it. Crashing sounds, windows breaking, a scream. When Jay finally opened his eyes he saw that his ex-wife lay on the ground, a chloroform rag draped over her face. He also saw a large group of men pointing guns in his face. As he looked back and forth between his now-unconscious ex-wife and the men with the guns one thought passed through his head. 'These guys can't be all bad.'

Matt and James had both figured that the best place to hide would be in plain sight. As they locked the doors of the gym and began cleaning up James thought he saw something, but ignored it figuring it was just a hallucination from lack of sleep. After the ring and surrounding area were clean enough the two men headed to bed. James took the upstairs apartment, while Matt stayed downstairs, choosing to sleep on a cot in one of the back rooms.

There was a reason they always did things like this early in the evening. It gave them the advantage that their targets would be going to sleep. With their night vision goggles on they quietly unlocked the doors and slipped in. Using hand signals to communicate the men split into two teams, one going upstairs and the other heading into a back room. Within minutes they had both the men they came for; only one team had yet to report in.

It was getting late, and Ice had just finished eating. It had taken him a little longer than usual to cook his dinner as his mind had been wandering from his problems with Society, including his upcoming match against Kane, to his current situation. After cleaning up his camp site and putting everything away Ice climbed into his tent and laid down, hoping to catch more sleep than he had the last few nights. Just as he was about to slip out of consciousness Ice heard a faint sound, but he couldn't place it. As he kept listening the sound grew louder until he finally bolted up and out of the tent, realizing what it was: a helicopter.

How could he have been so naive? He hadn't thought that the people after him would have access to a helicopter. How wrong he had been. It was too late now though. Ice gathered some essential supplies and began running through the woods, away from the lake. Unfortunately for him he soon ran into a wall of men with guns. Ice turned and ran back towards his camp, and the lake. He slowed down as he reached the lake, seeing that the helicopter had already landed. The Ice Man dropped his bag and sat on a nearby log. 'Nothing to do now but wait,' he thought to himself after realizing that he was surrounded.

The man in charge saw The Ice Man drop his things and sit down and a smile crossed his face. He had been hoping that there wouldn't be a big struggle and he was happy that none of his men would get hurt. As he made his way along the shore to the spot where Ice sat, he couldn't help but feel a wave of relief. They finally had what they needed. As he approached The Ice Man he held out his hand, a gesture that obviously surprised him.

Man: Robert Jones, FBI Organized Crime Task Force. We have some questions for you.

Ice (Voice Over): And that is when I realized that what I was up against was bigger than I had imagined. I thought it had started two weeks ago... boy, was I wrong.
